Ignition Module problems of the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Two problems related to ignition module have been reported for the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2010

2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Consumer states that he was trapped in the car even after pressing the unlock button. The door sand windows would not open. The consumer stated while driving, all of the dash lights illuminated,and were not working. The gas gauge read empty etc. Upon arriving at his destination, the doors and windows would not open, despite pressing the unlock button. The consumer and his occupants were trapped in the vehicle. The consumer turned the engine off and back on again, and everything worked. The consumer stated the incident happened several times for several days. According to the invoice, there was an internal failure in the liftgate module which caused the door locks to malfunction. The dash lights illuminating was the result of an internal failure in the ignition switch.

2 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2004

The check engine light and the reduced engine power light came on the first time and the truck had no acceleration. There was a code recorded when service was performed and pcm was reprogrammed. The next 3 times the check engine light came on and the truck would only accelerate if the rpm's reved up to 2, then the truck would move very slowly. The problem they found this time was a faulty ingition switch (2 times) a program upgrade of the motherboard of the truck, and the tork converter clutch module. Windshield wiper blades stopped working during a snow/rain storm.
