I was involved in an automobile accident out of state. I was traveling during the evening hours to try to avoid heavy traffic. I started having trouble with the dim lights and could only proceed using the bright lights. The next thing I realize is that I am unable to control the vehicle and struck another vehicle on the road. I then proceeded to slide down an embankment approximately 30 feet. My vehicle sustained enormous damage to the front and side of the vehicle. The front airbags did not deploy and my vehicle was deemed totaled by my insurer.

It was sleeting and I lost control on a curve. I had been driving about 50 mph, but braked before the curve and braked very hard when I tried to regain control of the vehicle, as it was sliding sideways toward the curve. I went off the curve and hit an elevated crossroad, which sent the vehicle airborne. I was airborne over most of the side road, with the rear of the vehicle hitting just the last few inches of pavement, which then sent the vehicle nosediving into the ditch. The embankments were 4-5 feet tall. I had two very hard front end impacts and hit my head on the steering wheel twice. The frame of the vehicle was bent and there was a lot of damage to the under of the vehicle, but the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle has been deemed a total loss by my insurance company. I have a lot of concern with the fact that the airbags did not deploy and know that there were other vehicles of my year and type that did have faulty airbags recalled, but mine has not been.

If a crash at 45 mph, rear-ending, car totalled does not deploy airbags it seems as though something is wrong.

There had never been any indication of air bag failure and never any warning "idiot" lights on the dashboard ever at any time indication any issues w/ air bag functionality. With recent events showing failure of gm air bags, I believe this is another indication of this failure which needs to be investigated. Safety features are sometimes taken for granted in vehicles, but when needed to perform, they are expected to perform as engineered. These safety features are factored into the decision making of vehicle purchases and are expected to perform.

This complaint is being filed on behalf of the vehicle owner and driver. This chevy Trailblazer was was involved in a two vehicle, double fatal crash. The front of the Trailblazer struck the driver's side door of a cavalier that failed to yield from a stop sign. When I started my car, I went to turn the ac on and there was beeping and the emergency brake, abs/stability, and a few other instrument panel lights come on. The overhead interior light comes on as well and the air will not blow out. The only way to get this to stop is to turn the a/c off or either turn it up to the highest level (5). If it is on 5 and I try to turn it down, the beeping starts and the lights come on. Sometimes it will just happen randomly even if I don't touch the air. Once while I was on the interstate doing 75 mph, it randomly happened and my car stalled and slowed down as if it were cutting off which scared me so badly because if my car had cut off I could have been in a serious accident, or even with it slowing down the way it did. My foot was on the gas driving and the car just started slowing out of nowhere. Also, the air bag light has come on and will not go off and the air bag has never been deployed. I love my truck so much, but am considering getting rid of it if I cannot get any assistance with getting it fixed because of my concern for my family's safety as well as other drivers on the road.

Watching it all unfold before my eyes while my foot frantically pumped the brake pedal, which hit the floor with each attempt. Although it was a front end collision, the airbags did not deploy.
