Failure Date: 08/01/2015

On Saturday, August 1, 2015 at approximately 8:55pm my mother was involved in a 1 car accident on baum rd located in tallahassee, FL. She was the only passenger determined to be in the vehicle at the time of the accident. According to the crash report, d1 (driver one) was traveling westbound on baum rd going the normal posted speed of 55mph, when she veered towards the center of the rd and suddenly turned right veering of the right shoulder of the rd and striking several trees on the drivers side and front end. D1 was wearing her seatbelt and managed to exit out the drivers side window before coming to her final resting place on the shoulder of the rd. When I went to retrieve my mothers things from her Trailblazer, I noticed that no air bags had deployed. And as fast as my mom was going and the type of impact & damage her SUV sustained, I would think and hope the airbags would deploy in this type of accident, thus preventing serious injury or death. My mom was not so lucky, and myself and my family have endured great pain from loosing her so suddenly.

I was on a 4 lane highway traveling eastbound going 50 mph posted speed 55 mph wearing our seat belts, when another vehicle waiting to u - turn in the center median decided to turn right into me-oncoming traffic. This person collided with me, which that impact sent me into a head on collision with the guard rail. The Chevrolet Trailblazer is completely totaled. There were 2 incidents in that sequence of events that the airbags should have deployed, but did not! this accident caused several injuries to myself and my passenger. We definitely could have been killed and no airbags to help save our lives.

Takata recall I was involved in an accident that did over $9,000 damage to my front end of vehicle. The airbags did not inflate. This was on a city street, and both vehicles were moving. 60 Air Bag problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer

61 Air Bag problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 09/26/2013

Driving approximately 40 to 43 mph when another vehicle turned directly in front of me. Total frontal damage buckling up hood on my car as I hit other vehicle in front-end passenger side. Their airbag deployed but mine didn't, even with total front end damage to my car. Had seatbelt on, but due to impact still pulled my whole body forward (like crash test dummy). This was a very hard crash totaling my car.

62 Air Bag problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 08/19/2013

Hit a deer at 70 mph on I-70 in kansas. I hit it full force with the front end. Half of the deer went over, half the deer went under. Nothing left but guts. Front end on driver side depressed about a foot. Wife and I received whip lash, wife is worse. Baby was okay. The Trailblazers front end was totaled. Airbags did not come out. Gm stated that in order for the air bags to work in this model is the brakes have to be depressed 1/20th of a second prior to impact. This is hog wash. Brakes have nothing to do with the airbags. I do not care about the vehicle, my concerns are the safety features of this vehicle.

63 Air Bag problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 07/04/2013

While traveling in slow traffic, the car in front of my wife stopped. By the time she noticed they stopped it was too late and she hit the back of their Ford explorer moving at around 20-30mph. The front end of our Trailblazer was crushed. My daughter and wife were wearing their seat belts. The officers and paramedics on the scene were shocked that the airbags did not come out with the amount of front end damage. They had to cut the battery wires to prevent the airbag from coming out later when she cleaned out the Trailblazer. An example of how much damage was taken to the front end, the corner fenders were pushed back so far they couldnt open wither front door. The fenders were crushed into the doors keeping them shut. I would think with an impact like that the airbags would have came out, it was a square hit meaning even damage across the front end.

64 Air Bag problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 05/18/2013

Driving at 45mph and hit a pothole, both side curtain air bags deployed. Took to dealer and the tech said there is no damage to tires, wheels or suspension so that just doesn't happen. It will have to be an insurance claim because you were driving at the time. Talked to the service manager and he said there are scuffs on the tires and rims and it was enough jolt to set off the airbags so they were working as designed. It will have to be an insurance claim.

65 Air Bag problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer

66 Air Bag problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 02/07/2013

Crashed straight into the back end of a vehicle doing 60 while I was doing atleast 80, or 85, maybe more, I don't remember. The first thing I remember seeing is realizing I'm alright despite the blood in the cockpit and on my face despite sneezing which was spreading blood. Is this a vehicle defect or what? my math says that crashing at 85mph into a vehicle doing 60 is like crashing into a brick wall at 25mph. I've had a local mechanic check it out and he says according to his obd-ii computer everything is working fine (or was atleast) :) anyways, please feel free to contact me again with any more question you may have. 67 Air Bag problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 08/27/2012

Driving at posted speed limit, both side curtain airbags deployed casing a vehicle accident. It is important to understand that the airbags deployed before the accident occurred. The airbags did not deflate. I tried to pull the car over but couldn't see around the airbags and hit the car in front of me. The sound of the airbags exploding sounded like a shotgun going off. Since the airbags never deflated, the police would not let me move the car. I had it towed to a garage that my insurance company suggested. They hooked up a device to the computer of the car to see why the airbags deployed. A code came up they said they had never seen, but would not tell me what the code was. It was in the shop for 10 days until the whole inside of the roof was replaced. I picked the Trailblazer up and now I have a passenger side exhaust manifold leak and a tick on the same side. The repair shop says that the airbags should not have caused it and won't repair it. I have read on several websites that report the same problems on other Trailblazers over the years it was made. I think it should be investigated further.

69 Air Bag problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 06/17/2012

On, 6/17/12, my daughter and I were driving east bound I-96 and involved in a non-fatal injury accident btwn beech daly & inkster. The accident started in the far right lane and ended with SUV facing opposite direction of traffic, left lane of hwy. I hit a pothole, approximate diameter of a yard stick, filled with water and it seems like I lost control of the steering; almost as if the vehicle had instantly shut down. The vehicle easily completed at least a 360â° spin out. We were able to walk away with minimal injuries due to clipping another SUV tail end instantly before going straight into the cement highway divider! I didn't realize how much muscle strengthening would be involved in mine and my daughters' healing process. I have been in to see an internist, neurological surgeon, physical therapist, occupational therapist, massage therapist, not to mention all of the cat scans, mris, etc. Performed at multiple hospital locations. My vehicle insurance carrier was notified of my health insurance restrictions prior to signing with them and prior to the mvi. The redford, mi police report indicates no injuries because neither myself nor my daughter were taken away by ambulance since the injuries were not life threatening and we were both in formal attire, both bridal party members. The vehicle was towed and totaled by insurance, loan paid in full; however, apparently concerns have arose to, perhaps, to the extent of our injuries so no medical procedures have not been paid to any of the service providers, as of today's date (11/15/14). My daughter and I were picked up by another guest attendee so we weren't holding up progress, being in the wedding party and carrying all decor for afterward festivities. None of the vehicle air bags deployed and we were going 60-65mph (front, side, rear, no where)! thank you, gm, mdot and current employees for staying true to USA & mi!.
