Equipment Problems of Chevrolet Trailblazer - part 2

The transmission shift control / transmission range sensor / shift interlock solenoid in my Chevrolet Trailblazer is malfunctioning. When I shift the vehicle into park, it fails to recognize the gear change and displays an error message stating, “shift to park. ” as a result, I'm unable to shut off the engine properly, which poses both a safety risk and a serious inconvenience. I strongly urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue thoroughly and consider issuing a recall to address the defect.

I first noticed an issue about a year ago when an electrical blaring noise was coming from my speakers followed by popping and crackling noises. I have taken my car into the dealership several times without resolution. Since then, I have noticed excessive humidity in the vehicle and recently found the trunk was flooded. I took the vehicle in to the dealership again, and they say the interior fabric is compromised now and the electrical sounds I was experiencing are coming from electrical damage inside the body. I have now read another review online from someone who had the exact same experience with this make and model. I believe this is a safety hazard to drivers who are unknowingly driving around for months in a vehicle that could be flooding and could cause severe damages like in my case. I have documents to support these claims, but I do not have electronic copies. If someone reaches out to me I can provide hard copies.

When parking vehicle, warning comes on to place vehicle in park although it already is. Engine will shut off, but dash will not and it continuously dings. This causes the battery to die. This happens every time I drive my Trailblazer and the dealership states there is no quick fix but to continue trying to put it in park repeatedly until alert goes away. Through research gm and chevy vehicles have had this same issue for many years with no recall. I demand a recall as this is a safety issue after being stranded due to battery dying if alert is unable to be cleared with workarounds.

Turbo has went out twice or the piece that makes it go and has been replaced under warranty once and is going in the shop again.

Alerting to shift to park and not turning off while vehicle is already in park.

We own a 2022 chevy Trailblazer and we have experienced the “shift to park” issue more times than we can count. We receive the “shift to park” message on the dash screen after the car has been shifted to park and we attempt to turn the vehicle off. This problem has caused me to be late to my job on numerous occasions and late to an exam that determines my graduation at school. Many users report being able to just shift through the gears a couple times or wiggling the gear shift and it shuts off, but that is not always my case. I have, on a few occasions now, had to remove my gear shift knob and panel completely, locating the park switch and manually bending it to recognize that my car was in park. Doing this will typically subside the issue for about a week, but no longer than that. We have tried to have the dealership see the message when taking it in for other things, but it never seems to happen when they are watching. There were no other issues with this vehicle before this started happening. We purchased the vehicle in February with about 44,000 miles. This issue has instilled fear in me every time I go to shut my vehicle off never knowing if it will actually shut off or not. Dramatic or not, it has caused unwanted anxiety and too many mental breakdowns that were not needed. This needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP!.

The sunroof fabric roll came off of the track when attempting to open the sunroof. Yes it is still off the track I have yet to get it fixed due to time restraints. It poses a risk because of the loud noise it makes until you stop the opening of the sunroof. As many individuals open their sunroof while driving it poses a risk of being a major distraction if and when this happens. I have not taken it to get repaired yet but I did report it to the customer service via the my Chevrolet app. It did not give off any warnings or lights prior to the failure . . It was a sudden failure that shocked me when it occurred as I couldn’t figure out how to stop it to begin with.

My 2022 Trailblazer has had a shift to park issue. It’s hazardous as I have to constantly park my car in reverse to get the “shift to park” message off my dashboard screen. My car doesn’t shut off properly with this issue. My car is only at 19,700 miles. It should not be having this issue.

Shift park issue - I bought the car 10 days ago and now start to have an issue when I park the car, put the car in the parking mode and turn off. The car doesn’t turn off as the message shift park is on. I need to turn on again, move, go back, change for drive and park and finally allow me to turn it off. I read it’s a common issue in 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazers.

Car will not allow me to fully turn off vehicle, keeps sending message “shift to park”.

“shift to park” alert. It started after the car had 29,000 miles. It would occur occasionally but on Jan 4th of this year, I had to restart and move my car 11 times in order for the alert to be cancelled and I was able to shut off my car. I have been told there is no parts available by the dealer who has my car and they don’t know when the work will be done!.

The radio screen is constantly going black or glitching, the music will silence, the back up camera will stop working. Carplay does not connect often, also glitches in and out when driving. There is little to no air or heat coming from the floor panel when feet option is pressed for climate. In order to feel heat or a/c have to be on face option.

Frame rotting out - has rot holes - unsafe - remainder of truck is good but without a solid structure this truck is unsafe and useless. Many Trailblazer frames do not last and rot out from what I've been researching. Bad product gm.

The vehicle lit on fire under the hood while driving. It is only 6 months old and has just 5300 miles on it. No service had been needed nor done on the vehicle yet nor did any of the diagnostic gauges or software alert me to any issues before it happened.

“shift to park” on my dash screen preventing me from locking my car and the accessories all remain on. I have to disconnect my battery otherwise my car dies if it remains on. I reconnect the battery regardless of how long it has been disconnected and the same shift to park issue reappears this first happened 10/24/23 and again today 10/26/23.

Again on 7/15/23 while coming back from north carolina the ac unit stopped working. It is only blowing out warm arm. We stopped at the south carolina welcome center to shut the car off and see if that corrected it. It didn’t. It is scheduled to go into the dealership on Wednesday 7/19/23. I had onstar run a diagnostic on it to see if anything showed up and was told nothing came up to explain why the ac unit stopped working.

When I park my car, I get a warning to "shift to park" even though my car is in park. This prevents me from turning off my car.

On 7/8/23 while taking a trip to north carolina the ac unit stopped working. I was struggling to do anything and making a rattling noise. This occurred from 7am-3pm. We had shut the vehicle off many times to see if that would allow the ac to begin working normally again and it did nothing until 3pm.

My key gets stuck in the ignition almost every time I turn the car off. In order to get it unstuck I have to restart the car, put the car in drive or reverse, put the car back in park and then try to take the key out again. This has to be repeated sometimes as many as 10 times for it to finally release the key. I have read about many other people having this same problem and eventually the key not coming out at all and they've had to have it cut out. I have an appointment at a dealership for August 1st (the first available appointment) and my vehicle is just out of warranty so I'm told I have to pay to have this fixed. This is clearly a manufacturers defect and first starting happening before my vehicle was out of warranty, I just didn't realize that it would become a much bigger issue the longer it kept happening.

Upon shutting off the ignition, my car tells me to "shift to park" each time and it is already in park. Takes several minutes for it to finally register that is already in park.

When vehicle is in park and you try to shut it off, you get the error message “shit to park” and you are unable to shut the vehicle off. You have to switch between the gears a few times before the vehicle shuts off. I’ve done this a few times and have even been late for work because the car won’t shut off.

I was waiting at the traffic light and the car just shut off without any warning and it wouldn't start back up. After a few minutes a warning came on that said "battery low-start vehicle. " when I tried to start the vehicle it still wouldn't start. Then all of the warnings lights were flashing on the dashboard the wipers were moving back and forth but the vehicle still wouldn't start then the car just shut down and and nothing would come on. This happened in the lane of traffic at the red light. With the hazard lights not working it was a dangerous situation. The police were called to be there with me until the tow truck came so no one would run into the vehicle. I feel that the fact that no warning light flashed before the car just shut off was very dangerous especially after it wouldn't start back up. I had just purchased this vehicle (used) December 2022. I am very frustrated because now I don't have a vehicle to get to work. I only purchased this vehicle because my kia was stolen and totaled October 2022 and I needed transportation to get to work. The car is at a chevy dealership now so they can try to figure what's wrong with the vehicle.

When putting the vehicle in park I receive a messege saying "shift to park" this means the vehicle is not recognizing I put the vehicle in park. This is a safety issue my truck is not even off when this message pops up. GMC knows about this issue and their is not a recall on it. Dealer will not fix the issue becazue it actually has to say that messege when they are diagnosing the problem. It does it randomly but more frequent now. I call GMC the only thing they can tell me is record it when it does it as a paper trail I guess. They are saying the same thing the dealership is saying they can't diagnose the problem without the shift to park messege. Been having this problem when I hit 20,000 miles.

I purchased a 2023 Trailblazer in February. And had noticed that the doors hold water in the front of the doors. After a rain or car washing the doors will drain when opened. But after a rain or washing and you leave the doors closed even a couple days later then open the doors water will drain out of each front hole on each door. I took it back to the dealership and the washed it and said that the doors drain while they are open. So I contacted Chevrolet main office and they asked me to take it back to the dealership. So I did while I was walking to the door a salesman came out and I asked him to open the doors on a 2023 Trailblazer setting in front of the store. It had rained earlier that day and we watched water leaking out of all the doors. So I asked him to get a couple more Trailblazer keys to other ones on the lot and they all leaked water out of the doors. I spoke to the customer service person and he said another owner of the 2023 Trailblazer had came in with the same complaint. I spoke again to the main office of Chevrolet and he told me to come here and file a complaint. Since this is a engineering flaw design. So I am hoping to find out what can be done to fix this issue? and what do I do now?.

Popping sound from passenger side front speakers when releasing the brake pedal after a stop. Vehicle in drive.

Vehicle is little over one month old and has less than two thousand (2000) miles. Adaptive cruise has been acting erratically. At times going at highway speed on expressway adaptive cruise would apply hard brakes 1. When approaching a overhead bridge. 2. Passing a vehicle in the adjacent lane and 3. Changing lane. Yesterday (10/12/2022) on a higway the instrument panel displayed a warning message "service side detection system". Took it to gm dealer who ran a diagnostic which showed the following codes: 1. B1325 control module power circuit low voltage 2. B317a passenger window switch short to ground 3. U0151 lost communication with inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module 4. U 0155 lost communication with instrument cluster 5. U0184 lost communication with radio 6. U0232 lost communication with side object detection control module - left dealer said that these are just notification and may not be able to find anything. It advised to bring vehicle back if this message pops up again.

When I shift the gear from park to drive & step on the gas, the vehicle hesitates to drive. I have to turn off my vehicle, play with the gear shift, then shift again to get it to move. The other day I put my vehicle in drive and it rolled back and reversed. Nobody can figure out what’s wrong with my vehicle. The check engine light comes on then goes off. Nobody can get the problem to duplicate. A ticket to GMC was submitted and from them, my vehicle seems fine on paper. This is a safety hazard. I’ve taken my vehicle to a chevy dealer and also to a GMC dealer multiple times.

Rear back up camera view on display screen image is fuzzy or shorts out for a second then corrects to give proper image.

Vehicle makes a loud popping noise while connected to apple play with usb cord while slowing down and while just driving.

Started having issues where all the electronics on the car go blank/dead. So far when this has happened it has not caused the car to be inoperable but in the meantime I have found that the car is leaking (seriously leaking) under the entire drivers seat was soaked. I noticed a while back that it smelled like mildew in the car, I had it cleaned and put a damp rid pouch in there, that basically absorbed in 2 days, but never could find the water. This week I found the water. . . Under the drivers seat. This car has been leaking for 2 years! last night, I get in the car and plug in my phone to charge and get a message of liquid detected charging is not available because liquid has been detected in the lightning connector. Disconnect to allow the connector to dry. At the same time the phone was plugged in everything started to crackle and squeal through the radio and then no radio at all. There is no way all these components are not damaged. Meanwhile I have take it to a dealer for them to do a "water test", I have zero confidence that this water test will yield any positive results and I am without a vehicle . So I am trying to get this info out anywhere I can to see if other people had similar issues and what can be done. It can not be safe to drive a car that the electronics have water damage.

The contact was informed that the jack stand would not be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The vehicle was not yet serviced under the recall. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Cutter Chevrolet in honolulu had a recall on my vehicle for a jack unable to support the vehicle. I had the appointment to address the recall. Their solution was to remove the jack without a replacement. Now I no longer have a jack. It will now cost me to have someone else to change a wheel that I can do myself. I have a spare tire with no jack in my new vehicle.

Two times I have heard a loud pop noise coming through my stereo speakers. I noticed it when applying the brakes. I went on a Trailblazer forum and a few others had reported the same thing. I heard the pop today when I was pulling into a parking spot and applying the brakes.
