Vehicle's headlamps will power surge, dim while driving periodically. Fuel sensor showed constant empty until repaired by the recall. Vehicle will occasionally surge forward revving on it's own at random times. The blower resistor pack has burnt up twice, the blower motor has been replaced as well as the melted wires. Now the vehicle will not start. The power windows, locks, radio, dome lights, dash lights are inoperative and the vehicle will not attempt to turn over. Seems like this vehicle has had a lot of electrical issues.

Fuel gauge pegged out past full then returned to empty. It has not been correct since. Mechanics I have talked to said this is an ongoing problem with the Trailblazers. I think there should be a recall issued for the problem. I noticed on the NHTSA website that there have been over 600 complaints filed. This could be a real problem and could possibly be a real safety hazard to families. Suppose you run out of fuel going down the interstate at 70 mph and you run out of fuel and can't get to the emergency lane, someone could possibly rear-end you because you can't get over. I think this should be fixed at gm's cost.
The car register empty when I have just filled up the car, and the tired gauge light comes on.

I am extremely disappointment and afraid of my Trailblazer at this point. We purchased the vehicle used and within a week of having the truck it started dying at redlights. Out of nowhere the truck just shuts off in the middle of the road. It has got to the point now that it does it while the vehicle is actually in motion. I have 3 kids and this is not safe! I lose total control of the vehicle. The headlight plug has burned up twice on the driver side and it has been replaced. The electrical is seriously in need of a recall do to the back door speakers never working since we purchased the truck (which the dealer promised to fix) along with the rear a/c (which the dealer also promised to fix! I cant afford 900$ in labor for whatever is making my truck shut off but if it doesn't get fixed it will be the death of me! reading codes on obd2 scanner of poo14 and p0016 incorrect camshaft timing wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve control solenoid system continuous oil flow to vct piston chamber failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)- now what do I do. .

I have a 2005 chevy Trailblazer ext that has a faulty gas gauge I cannot tell how much gas I have its extremely dangerous when you have children you need to pick up daily and drive to practives not knowing how much gas you have so your always in a panic to put more.
We have had this vehicle in the Chevrolet dealer shop several times over the past few years. Twice it was sent with the engine light on and came back to us with the same light still on. As a matter of fact, the last issue that was repaired had to be fixed two more times by my husband. The dealer repairman told my husband what to do in case it happened again. $800 later, it has happened twice. Also, the last time it came back from the dealer, the gas gauge had stopped working. I have been tracking miles to keep from running out of gas; however, I have still run out of gas five times! as a busy mom, keeping up with gallons and mileage becomes too much of a hassle. I'm driving (stop and go) 300+ miles a week. We haven't taken it back to the dealer because our income has suffered a loss over the past six months; therefore, we have been dealing with the problem. This is obviously a problem with a lot of 2006 Trailblazers. I am asking for help because I'm tired of running out of gas.
Filled up truck and gas gauge still said it was empty. Gas gauge is faulty and no longer works. Have to keep track of mileage now so I don't run out of gas. I also read that gm is willing to cover half the cost and were suppose to send a letter stating that. Never received anything. Not at all impressed with gm and will find it hard to stay a loyal customer.
2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Consumer writes in regards to defective gas gauge the consumer stated the gas gauge needle always read empty and the low fuel light always stayed on. The sealer informed the consumer there was a defect and a recall had been issued. He was informed part of the repair would be paid by gm and he would be responsible for remaining. The consumer stated he never received any type of recall notice in the mail. The consumer stated he should not have to pay for a part that was recalled.
Vehicle was parked with all doors locked and the vehicle not running. The remote unlock button was engaged and all doors unlocked with the exception of the driver door. The remote unlock was engaged 3 to 4 more times. The door was manually unlocked from passenger's side. When the door was opened, smoke was pouring out of the inside. We poured available liquids down the window slot but smoke was still pouring out. While my spouse went inside the business where we were parked to grab a pitcher of water, I jerked the plastic oval piece around the inside door handle off and saw flames. He returned with the pitcher and we poured the water down the open hole at the door handle and finally managed to extinguish the flames. We drove the vehicle home but none of the door functions worked at all. It is going to cost me approximately $600 to fix this issue. I have been afraid to drive my Trailblazer since that time. Also the fuel gauge quit working about 3 months ago. We finally fixed that issue today. The next issue to repair after the door is the heat/air actuator as the air conditioning no longer comes thru my air conditioning vents. . . Updated 08-27-12 the consumer also stated the fuel gauge stopped working. Updated 08/28/12.
The fuel gauge has stopped working, my research shows that is a big problem, it shows empty all the time.
The fuel gauge stopped working then all the other gauges of the instrument panel began intermittently then permanently stopped working. Aside from the battery gauge, the least important of them all.
Gas gauge stopped working which resulted in running out of gas on a major highway.
Fuel gauge does not work. Shows that there is fuel when it is empty and appears to show empty at random times as it's showing me empty when I just filled up.
My gas gauge went bad and at first I was not aware and my car just lost power in the middle of the highway. Now its going to cost me 500. 00 to fix and gm doesn't want to take care of this step up to the plate this is nuts!!!! I have read multiple websites and I agree with every angry and upset customer if it a default then it should be fixed by the company. Very poor customer service.
My gas gauge reads empty after I fill up with gasoline.
Fuel gauge fluctuation.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact was driving 30 mph when the fuel gauge provided an erroneous reading of empty. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where the mechanic confirmed that the fuel sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and the current mileages were 56,000.
The fuel gauge has stopped working and I never know how much fuel I have. . . . . Is there a recall?.
Living in maine, it's not like there are gas stations on every street corner. I left for work one morning, knowing I had plenty of gas, my surprise approximately half way there, my gas light came on. The gauge was on empty. I was in a panic, I still had about 15 miles to go before I was near a gas station. I finally got to a gas station, and surprise again, it only took about 10 gallons to fill it. I did some research about this problem, there have been over 800,000 complaints on fuel gauge problems on these type vehicles!! come on, times are tough, I can't afford to get this fixed. . Do a recall!!.
Today, 02/28/2012, I noticed that the fuel gauge on my 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext was fluctuating between half full and full after adding 19 gallons of gas to the truck. This is the first time I have noticed this problem and am aware that many other individuals have had this problem on their Trailblazers. I am hoping there will be a recall in the near future.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext. The contact stated that the fuel gauge constantly displayed inaccurate readings. The failure progressed until the fuel gauge constantly displayed a reading of empty. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,000.
After putting in 13 gals of fuel, the gauge goes back & forth from full to empty. The cause the empty light to come on. The gauge goes back to half. This just occurred.
1 fuel level sensor not working 2. 70% of the time 3. By gm nothing 2005 Trailblazer.
Cluster instrument panel failed. Rpm odometer doesn't work, speed ranges from 80-off the charts, gas gauge not accurate. Apparently big problem w/over 300 complaints yet no recall. Firestone just quoted me $700 for a remove and replace instrument cluster gauge. $600 for the gauge itself. I can't afford that.
My fuel gauge no longer works. I also have no power anything on my drivers side door.
I filled up and the meter immediately pointed towards empty then the light came on. Reads empty 95% of the time. The needles will raise to the 1/4 line and drop within seconds.
Fuel gauge drops to empty with low fuel light coming on, no matter how much gas is in vehicle. Sometimes it fluctuates back and forth. Never sure how much gas is in vehicle. Which this creates a big problem since I transport handicap people in my vehicle. Also driver side window operates very slow, sometimes it hesitates on rolling up. I have to let it set for a while, then try rolling it up again. After several times doing this, it has finally rolled up all the way. I think the dealer should fix these problems, without consumer paying for any of it. Especially since these seem to be ongoing problems. I have been lucky reference my door panel hasn't caught fire yet, which could cause a serious traffic accident. Also my slick, skid control lights come on very easily when I take off and stay on till I can shut the car off and restart it, and hope doesn't come back on when I start to drive.
Last night on 01/17/12 I filled my truck with gas and when I restarted the vehicle it started dinging at me and the gas gauge was stuck on empty. This morning I started the truck and drove to work and the fuel gauge kept moving and reading differnt amounts. I placed a call to gm and they are fully aware of the problem but say it's not a safety concern so no recall was issued and that I would have to pay for half of the repair that could only be done thru an authorized dealer. Something is seriously wrong, this is a huge safety concern for me not to know if I have fuel and I have to pay gm more money when they are fully aware that they used faulty equipment.
Fuel sensor stopped working.
Gas gauge stop working.
Fuel gauge reads empty and check engine light illuminates after fill up. Usually returns to normal in a few days.
The fuel gauge was giving false reading saying empty when it was not or full when it was empty and sometimes in between. This cause the engine to stall when driving on a public road making it very hard to pull over and stop because the power steering and power brakes quit working. I have searched on this issue and it is a huge problem with Trailblazers.
