Shortly after christmas 2015, while driving on a city street the red light on the gas guage came on and the gauge showed empty. Having just filled the tank earlier that day I thought the gas had been stolen. I pulled into a station to refill but it was still full. For the next five weeks the check engine light was on and the gauge only worked occasionally. It wasn't a dangerous situation but after a few weeks of guessing how much gas was in it, I took it to a repairman who replaced the fuel pump module assembly for a mere $767. 04. The odometer is only at 47,760.

Extended warranty fuel tank filler leak known issue with Chevrolet which affects other parts such fuel pump, fuel module, etc Chevrolet has been aware of this issue since 2007 and I just got a call from a senior advisor from chevy stating that the "replacement part" is not going to be in until April. I find this unacceptable since I am driving around with a gas leak. The sa first started off, well we understand you are complaining about the part being back ordered. No I am mad because if they sent out letters to consumers, don't you think you should have the part in to fix the issues with the Trailblazer? chevy is dragging its feet to fix its own warranty that it extended to consumers. The longer I drive around with this leak, the longer others parts such the fuel pump, fuel module, etc will fail and chevy should cover these parts also. How does chevy expect me to drive around for 5 months with a fuel leak?.

The metallic fuel pump lines located on top of the fuel pump corroded through, leaking gas onto the ground whenever the engine was on. This vehicle has 155,000 miles on it and is now 11 years old. To qualify for the recall that was issued, the car had to be less than 10 years old or and have less than 125,000 miles. The recall period for this vehicle should be extended to include older vehicles.

While driving the vehicle with passengers inside, the smell of fuel vapors were so overwhelming that the vehicle had to be stopped and the passenger had to be escorted in a new vehicle to the destination. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The vehicle was taken to a Chevrolet dealer who diagnosed that there was corrosion of the return and sender lines of the fuel pump module and they needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Inaccurate fuel level reading. In November, my fuel gauge and driver information center began to spontaneously read erratically and would not accurately show me how much gas I had. Condition has rapidly progressed to where the fuel gauge almost constantly reads empty, low fuel light is illuminated and fuel level low is displayed in the dic. In researching this issue, I found service bulletin no. 10054b which states it is a premature wearing of the fuel sensor and I should have received a mailed notice from gm regarding this known issue. I have not received any such notice. There are no recalls associated with my VIN and my warranty has now expired so there will not be "vehicle eligibility" for the dealer to confirm through the "applicable warranties section in the global warranty management system. " this issue is bigger than publicly acknowledged by gm and needs to be a full recall, not a 50/50 shared responsibility with the customer when gm acknowledges the issue is due to a faulty part that prematurely wears and causes the malfunction. Also, the entire fuel pump including the sending unit and fuel level sensor needs to be replaced, not just the fuel level sensor.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving at 40 mph, the transmission shifted between drive and overdrive. The contact also stated there was a fuel odor when driving. Driver side master power window switch does not work the driver side window at all! out of the blue this stopped working. Further research shows that the 2006-2007 models were recalled not the 2005! really, this car is "currently registered in a cold weather state which uses salt to clear the roads" (direct quote from general motors and isuzu recall 258,000 suvs, the associated press, August 19, 2012) since 12/2005 which is when the vehicle was purchased. Just because my vehicle did not have a fire "yet" but I have the "exact" problem which arose before these vehicles did catch fire, mine is not recalled? not only was the transmission recalled in 2008, I had a problem with the "blower motor" not working when you turn on the heat. You could only turn on the heat to no. 4. The truck was taken for service on 1/10/06, 1/30/06, 2/7/06 and 2/17/06 which was not even 2 mo. After purchasing said vehicle before the problem was corrected. In 11/06 the "fuel pump module" was replaced and covered "only" because I had the extended warranty and I had to pay the $100. 00 deductible, because I had gas but it was not registering. Again, I continue to have this problem. When calling gm on 7/24/13 about the window switch recall, I now find out that there is a "special coverage" for the "fuel level sensor". This is covered until 7/24/14, per gm (866-694-6546), unless you have more than 120,000 something miles. Was not sure of the mileage exactly since mine is below that figure. The window switch is a serious malfunction that needs to be covered in "all years" of this vehicle. While sitting at a red light with your foot on the brake, the vehicle will just rev up and want to take off. I guess this isn't a "big deal" either. You can't even listen to the radio to distract you with all these problems going on because the radio only comes out of "one" speaker! go figure, it is gm!.
Wife filled Trailblazer with fuel during a trip today. When she returned to vehicle and started it low gas light on gauge cluster lit and fuel gauge went to zero. Vehicle was purchased at 11,000 miles and gas level has never been allowed to fall below 1/4 of a tank so as to prevent fuel pump overheating and failure, hence, this was the first time the light has been on.
I have a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext. On 03/07/2013 it started to leak fuel while parked in the garage, I took it to beardmore Chevrolet in bellevue, nebraska to have it checked out. Service writer told me there have been problems with the fuel tank filler neck cracking and leaking along with the the fuel pump leaking and pooling fuel on top of the tank, they informed me that gm had a service letter out that covered full replacement of tank, pump and lines at no charge for 10years or 150,000 miles, I have 81260 miles and an in service date of 03/26/03 so I was 10 days out of warrenty on the repair. Dealer called gm for me and got approval to repair the Trailblazer with me paying 500. 00 of the 2200. 00 repair. I took the deal as they could have just denied the whole claim. So people if you smell fuel of have a wet fuel tank get it to the dealer ASAP. Gm helping with the bill is better than nothing. I was also told the new parts were all updated and I should not have the problem again.
My Trailblazer 2005 would be driving down the street at about 25 to 30 miles, then my engine would just turn off with out any warning, am afraid it will happen again but this time when am in the highways going 60 miles on the highway I seen that is not just my vehicle that has happened to and even the fuel pump has gave up with out no answer, the gm or Chevrolet dealership don't have a clue why this is happening. It will be really helpful if you guys look into this before someone gets hurt on this malfunction. I really appreciate for taking your time. Sincerely, Chevrolet Trailblazer driver.
Leaking from the fuel pump flanges, caused fuel lines to corriode and leak onto gas tank. Gas smell coming from rear of vehicle. This was a great fire hazzard as a driver of this vehicle and safety of others! pe 07013 cost to repair $763. 76.
While picking my children up from school on 11/15/2012 I smelled burning plastic, then I looked down at the drive door it was smoking really bad. I put the car and park and opened the door, a police offcer was near as I was in the school zone he saw the smoke coming from my car and ask me was I okay. He turned the car off unsure if a fire was started on the inside of the door. After about an hour the smoke stopped, but my main power window and door was not working anymore. My car smelled like burning plastic for months. I was advised that the motor may have burned out and it would cost $550. 00 to have repaired. I noticed on 01/26/2013 my gas gauge was not working. I stopped at a local gas station and filled my car up with $62. 00 worth the gas and when I turned the car on it showed my car was on empty and the gauge light remained lit along with my engine light. So I turned the car back off and waited about 30 sec and turned it back on it stayed the same. I took it to the shop and was advised the fuel sensor was bad and I would need to have a new fuel pump put in. I bought my car on 02/27/2010 pre-owned with 76,000 miles on it, and was given a car fax report, and it was clean. I read all these reviews about the 2007 Trailblazers and it seems they all have the same issues. These issues need to be corrected as they have to be a manufactor defect.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The contact noticed that the fuel gauge displayed and inaccurate reading of one quarter full when the fuel tank was actually empty. The contact called roadside assistance and was assisted by having fuel dispense ned into the tank and the vehicle resumed normally. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and advised that the fuel pump would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

The ignition will not turn off unless the bright lights are on. At times, it will start automatically even when the ignition switch is turned off. Sometimes the ignition will not turn on or off at all. Fuel system is faulty. Consistently problems have caused the fuel pump to go out repeatedly, and the fuel gauge to stop working. Motor in the drivers seat stopped working after months of problems. The radio has stopped working. We've replaced the fuse, and have been told its an electrical problem.
The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the fuel gauge read inaccurately numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the fuel pump and/or the computer chip that controls the fuel pump would need to be replaced. The dealer offered to cover half the cost of the repair. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 135,000.
Fuel gauge began not functioning correctly arount April 15, 2011. The gauge is constantly registering empty after a fill up and then registers a half a tank and then back to empty. I have had to revert to setting my trip odometer and when I get close to 300 miles I fill up. I have check with my dealer and was told there is a fix. . . . A new fuel sensor and fuel pump.
On several occassion over the past year my fuel gauge in my 2004 cheverolete trailbalzer lt has read inaccuratly leading to breaking down due to the vehicle running out of gas while the gauge was still reading at least 1/4 tank moments before the engin stalls. On all ocassions I was driving on the freeway the gauage showed 1/4 tank and then all od a suddened dropped to e with the fuel warning light coming one. Within a few miiles of this sudden drop and the w2arning light coming on the engin would stall due the the vehcile being out of gas. I have complained to my local dealer on several occassions and all they have offered to me is to replace the sending unit, which in this model is integraded with the fuel pump at the cost of almost $800. This seem worng to me. Now that I have read that this seems to be a problem on these tyopes of vehicles I am even more upset that the local dealership told me miy issue is an isolated issue and they have never heard of any problems with the fuel gagues in these vehicvles.
The fuel pump assembly went out. Car completely died. It's an $1,100 fix and I've been hearing that this is a known problem with the Trailblazer. No noted recall yet. Wanted to report the problem.
I have a 2005 chevy Trailblazer. I purchased said vehicle at the end of July-beginning of August 2007. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of owning a chevy due to not having any issues. . . Well that was until December 2009. I began noticing that my gas gauge was malfunctioning. I would fill up the tank but it would read empty, and that problem has been ongoing since my discovery. I currently have to read my mileage to know when to put gas in my tank. Additionally, I have ran out of gas twice and both times putting myself in harms way and damaging my fuel pump (which is costly). Just two days ago I ran out of gas on a busy street, I didn't panic, but I was a bit nervous. I hit the hazards, and pulled up my emergency break (because breaks and steering wield froze up). The vehicle behind me slammed on breaks just missing me by inches. This is no way to live and drive. I'm scared to go out of town or take back roads because I may give out of gas in an area where there is no cell phone tower or low to no signals. This has put me in a very bad space.
Under a previous recall the dealer replaced a part in the fuel tank and tried to sell us a fuel pump at the same time. My wife now tells me that since this service she has occasionally smelled gasoline inside the vehicle and at times quite strong. At first she thought it was the fumes from other vehicles. I do not drive this vehicle alot, so it has not been noticed by me. Is it because of a complete fill up or is it because there is a seal not installed correctly, I do not know what I do know is that under no circumstances should there be gasoline fumes inside the vehicle, which tells me that any spark of any kind could ignite those fumes.
On topix web site there is about 50 or more complaints including me about chevy cars mine 2006 Trailblazer under 29,000 mile and 3 year old fuel pumps(fuel gauge) the money that I have to pay to fix it would feed my family for two - three months on this crisis for money and jobs now,,,,,,help,,push to recall,,, no more gm , they got my tax money for bailout they should care more ,,,.
Traction control lights on and off intermittently. I had a sensor replaced that was located in the steering column behind the airbag and that worked for a few weeks but it is back to going on and off. That sensor and labor cost me $500. 00 total because I had to have it looked at 3 times. Fuel gauge always reads empty. I have done some research on the fuel gauge problem and there are a ton of the same problems out there. This should be a recall immediately. I have to get the fuel pump and sensor replaced at a cost of $800. 00 to $1000. 00. The trouble started at about 55,000 miles. Shame on Chevrolet for letting this go on. They know about the problem and wont do a recall to help the little guy. All I've ever owned is chevy's. . . . But no more!!!.
On July 26 the fuel tank broke and the fuel pump went out also on my chevy Trailblazer it was two days before I had it for 30 days I called the dealer and they said that they couldn't do nothing we paid about $2800. 00 dollars to get it fixed you could smell the gas inside the car I was very worried being that it was harmful to my kids and I let the dealer know that and then a week later we got a recall letter from chevy about the problem the dealer never gave us the car fax report like it states in there dealer front door I would like to do something about this .
