While driving my Traverse it stalled going 50 mph. After restarting the vehicle the engine was at low power and would only go 20 miles per hour. The dash read low engine power, stabilitrak and traction control issues. Drove the vehicle at 20 mph in a 55 mph zone for about 5 miles with the flashers on. Took the vehicle to todd wenzel in davison michigan. Upon restarting to go to the dealership the vehicle drove as normal with the engine light on. The dealership coded it. ( see attached) we did do the work the dealership recommended. This was the fourth time we have had similar issues. The past three times just the engine light came on with no stalling or speed issues and the code was ignition switch fuse. We had the fuse replaced each time. All within 8-9 months. Engine issues came up as possible recall but not with my VIN #.
I was driving my car, straight, down our road at about 40 mph when the car suddenly started to shudder, loose power and then then engine stalled (lost steering ability and engine propulsion). If this had happened at a busy intersection, while making a left hande turn, it could have been fatal.

I was sitting at a light and heard chimes. The vehicle display showed service traction control, service stabilitrak and traction control turned off. When the light changed the vehicle would not move. There was some kind of engine loss but it did not stall out. The radio and the air were on and working fine. I tried many attempts multiple times to get the car to move but it would not move. This included putting it in park and also turning it on and off. The warnings continued to flash. Then after one attempt I felt it start to move at an extremely low rate of speed. As I was turning into a parking lot I felt something catch and the vehicle started moving at a normal speed. I turned the vehicle on and off again once I was in the parking lot. The engine light appeared but the service stabilitrak and service traction control did not display again. I know for a fact the engine light was not on when I was unable to move the vehicle. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they were unable to duplicate the problem. There was nothing done to the vehicle and I was told that they have to duplicate it. I was also told this will occur again, the problem will not go away but get progressively worse over time and hopefully the next time the vehicle will not be able to start. I checked NHTSA website and there seems to be a number of complaints made for the exact same thing with many makes and models. This is a lease vehicle and I did contact gm and have a case number. I understand cars breakdown but what I don¿t understand is that a serious safety issues needs to be duplicated before a part can be replaced. I find it hard to believe there is not a recommended fix for this.
Knocking engine, running like a old tractor. Engine stalled!! had to replace motor. No power found tranny went bad on the middle of busy intersection. Had to replace tranny. Now power steering pump went couldn't turn the wheels on the highway. Had to replace. All repairs paid out of my pocket. Wheres the recalls?? so many people with this same year vehicle same problems. All of these have costed me several thousands of dollars out of my pocket. Also had to pay dealership for the brakes that were bad. 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020 all the years happened. Wipers were the 1st to fall off got replaced.

In January 2016, my vehicle started having stability track issues. It got so bad I had the car sit up for a month then called a mechanic out to diagnosis the car. They sent me to the chevy dealership and they fixed something within the steering, but that did not stop my stabilitrak from malfunctioning. While driving the stabilitrak light turns on and says it needs servicing. Then it makes the engine slow down and it starts stalling so we have to pull over and turn the car off and turn it back on for it to do the same thing again within minutes. If the cruise control is on it turns it off starts to stall and puts my family and I in danger, I just thank god we've been able to alleviate major accidents. It's been one minor accident but because we were already going slow it didn't affect either car, so we let it go especially because our vehicle was at fault not the people behind us.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle shifted out of gear and began to lose power. The engine stalled with out warning. The vehicle failed to restart. The failure occurred twice. The contact also mentioned that the key was stuck in the ignition. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Vehicle was 2011 chevy Traverse w/ awd with history (four instances) of engine oil leeks/requiring engine removal and reinstall. Vehicle was on interstate when awd/vehicle stability control lights went on. Dic indicated 'service stabiltrack', 'service awd' and 'awd disabled'. At that time, vehicle was 'chugging' but shortly after chugging got much worse to the extent that the vehicle could not accelerate or maintain speed at cruise, or without cruise up normal hills on an interstate. When gas pedal was pressed further, rpm/speed would increase but then drop sharply (500-1000rpm) multiple times and no further power could be applied. Vehicle slowed down to about 50mph at the top of a hill. Happened for the next 15-20 miles until it could be pulled over. Vehicle was taken in once right after original occurrence, all three lights had gone off at point and vehicle drove normally after that. Service center indicated a wheel censor (front right) was reading defective information. They cleaned 'dust' from the sensor. Happened again about two weeks later, similar circumstances/results. Service center indicated wheel sensor was bad, they replaced (at my cost) and had no further instances for about four months. Similar situation happened again today (7/19/2014, conditions and results). However, the engine chugging was much worse and vehicle could not be driven safely on the interstate, would not accelerate or maintain safe interstate speed.
