I am contacting you regarding a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse lt I purchased from carvana. The vehicle was delivered on Sunday, October 13, 2020. The vehicle was re-scheduled several times before it was delivered. I was contacted via phone on the delivery date via carvana customer advocate to instruct me the vehicle driver side-view mirror, driver door latch was damaged in route to the carvana hub located in birmingham, alabama. The advocate advised me they can re-scheduled the delivery to have it repaired. I informed the advocate I was in desperate need of a vehicle and could not afford for it to be re-scheduled again. She assured me that I can take the vehicle to a certified service center and have a service advisor to give them a call to cover the labor and repairs and they will cover it. Unfortunately, I had been without a vehicle from October 2019 to March 2020 after receiving this vehicle it has been issue after issue. The repairs that was done is listed below. windows (safelite) window molding car mats passenger heated seat tires rack and pinion oil pan, gasket and oil filter water pump and gasket ball joints upper and lower control arms front right and left stabilizer bars front brakes rear brakes rotors turned front struts air condition hoses and freon, I had to pay the warranty was up driver handles driver, passenger, and back handle exhaust leak and manifold cat back mufflers (4) Cadillac converter (4) exhaust keys (2) fob (2).

For that last 9 months my check engine light has been coming on and off repeatedly. At times, it flashes really fast before my engine starts making a rumbling noise. It has been taken to the chevy service department 4 times with them doing the following: replaced spark plugs, fuel induction service, new sensor box and new water pump. The problem still has not been fixed. It is currently at another chevy service department about 15 miles from me. They have had it for 3 days now and still no word as to what is wrong with it. When the check engine light comes it's when the vehicle is started and it stays all while been driven. When the light flashes and the vehicle makes the rumbling noise it is while being driven and stationary. The rumbling noise will stop once I pull over and turn off the vehicle. But the light comes back on.

Another 2011 Traverse with a timing chain failure at 82k miles. Driving ho e from work on a busy route and without warning the engine started making horrendous noises and lost power almost causing us to be rear ended. Had car towed to local mechanic who determined it was the timing chain. Have open case with gm (8-4399513745) but too date nothing but run around. VIN is not in parameters for extended warranty. How many Traverses need to fail before gm takes ownership of their gross manufacturing defect and makes their customers whole again - this should be recalled and a class action suit filed. This happened 2 months after replacing water pump, alternator , battery and crank shaft sensor after sudden power loss. Someone needs to hold gm responsible. They are blaming the consumer in every case and refuse to correct their mistake. How many more will it take before someone steps in and makes gm do the right thing? in the meantime another chevy customer leaving the ranks. I will let everyone who's anyone know the true gm customer service and commitment or should I say lack there of.
Stabilitrak/traction control problems I am the owner of this vehicle that has 165,000+ miles on it. We have repaired/replaced about $6900: in 2017 evap purge valve, in 2017 upper coolant hose, 2016 water pump gasket, timing chain, 2014 catalytic converter and gaskets, 2014 water pump and front motor mount, in 2009 reverse clutch plate. Now the stability trac and traction lights both came on stating to service the brake system when you are in motion and come to a stop. Plus today, the ac does not come now. One vehicle with one owner should not have this many problems. Chevy has got to issue a recall on this 2009 model. Class action lawsuit, something needs to be done.

Went for an oil change and then noticed my coolant reservoir completely. I contacted oil company and topped coolant off. Next day went to work and oil company came to inspect the car and coolant empty again. Went to oil company after work and was advised to go to dealership as it appears to be a water pump leak. Next morning went to shaheen Chevrolet and paid $101. 86 and the advised it was my water pump leaking at shaft weep hole. I research3rd and found recall 13079 and contacted gm at 18002221020 and s/w anna and was advised its not a recall but a customer satisfaction program. And that I had the customer satisfaction on 4/19/2014 and it only carried a 12 month warranty. However since this seems related they will assign my case to a senior advisor . . . Case 8-3280633041.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. While driving approximately 25 mph, the contact smelled coolant. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to shottenkirk Chevrolet (located at 755 hickman rd, waukee, IA 50263) where it was diagnosed that the water pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The check engine light came on when driving on a city street going approximately 45 mph. The next day the temp gage spike to 260 in same conditions and as soon as pulling into the driveway coolant spilled into the driveway. The fan continued to run even after vehicle was turned off. Added coolant to get to dealership that is 4 miles a way. Halfway there engine started smoking, pulled over & coolant leaked everywhere again. Needs a new water pump, thermostat, coolant fluid exchange due to leak, & transmission fluid exchange.
The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the vehicle had no specific failures other than failing an inspection. The contact called a dealer (lannan Chevrolet, 40 winn st, woburn, MA 01801, (781) 897-0508) to inspect and diagnose the failure. The manufacturer did not send a notification of any extended warranty campaigns; however, the vehicle was included in a water pump seal leak, power steering, transmission, and additional service campaigns. After the dealer's repairs, the vehicle was rode roughly and the engine indicator illuminated two days later. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer who indicated that further diagnostic testing was required. The vehicle had been at the dealer for longer than two weeks with no resolution. The manufacturer was notified and refused to provide a remedy for the several extended warranty campaigns, of which some were not completed, but the dealer specified on the invoice that the vehicle was serviced. The vehicle was not repaired and was unable to be driven. The approximate failure mileage was 113,000.
Brought the 2010 chevy Traverse to dealer for a leaking water pump that was fixed under warranty in November. Vehichle was in reduced power mode once it was started up after work was completed on water pump. At that time I was informed the timing chain was stretched and had to be replaced. The gm dealer quoted me $1834 to replace. Unacceptable at this mileage for a timing chain to be stretched that much. Gm needs to recall these vehichles for this and many other items and fix their junk that they turn out for top dollar. That isn't an easy tab to pick up for most of us.
Letter from congressman gosar on behalf of constituent re 2011 chevy Traverse multiple recalls (attn: stephen briggs). The consumer stated her vehicle had three major safety recalls regarding the air bags, seat belts and water pump. Recently, while driving the stabiltrak service traction control light illuminated, followed by the engine powering down and the engine light illuminated, at which point the vehicle decelerated from 65 mph to less than 5 mph.
Engine overheated, reduced engine power came on and car shut down. Had to have it towed. Water pump had to be replaced, car is only 4 years old. Doesn't make sense.
I purchased this 2011 chevy Traverse in Feb. Of 2015, so I believed it to be a fairly new car in good shape. Not even a month later the gas hand becomes faulty and is not showing the correct amount of gas, and starts fluctuating. Next I'm riding on the freeway and the truck immediately starts slowing down and reads loss of engine power and shuts off right in the middle of the freeway. Now I am freaking out with me and my kids in the car and others flying around me doing 75 to 80 mph to my decreasing speed. I was scared for my life and my children's lives as cars and trucks are speeding around and honking at me. The truck dies and I barely manage to get to the side so that I would not be hit. I then get the car towed to the local dealership who then says that the truck needs a water pump which turns out to be under my extended warranty. They also reset my fuel sensor because they say they tested it and it was still good. So it only cost me $100. 00. I pick my truck up and it works fine for less than a month and starts up again. I run out of gas on a busy street and get another tow. Back to the Chevrolet house it goes. This time they reset the check engine light and says its still not the fuel pump, sensor, or anything because they cannot find anything at all. I go pick it up once again and on my way home ran out of gas, while the gas level is reading right at half a tank. I know there was gas in the tank when I ran out and when the truck was towed. The dealership kept my vehicle for a whole week and all they did was got the truck on level ground, obviously, and the truck ran all the gas out while parked and they were 'trying to find the problem'. So now the gas hand is not working at all and I'm always putting gas in it and taking a chance because nobody knows whats wrong. This vehicle has been nothing but a headache and this problem needs recalling before one dies.
Tdc p008 is tripped in vehicle. It says something is wrong with the tiiming. It just happens that this code showed up the day after I had recall work on the vehicle for seat belts and airbags. They also checked the water pump for leaks. The dealer said that it has nothing to do with work they did the day before.
I was driving the truck on the main street when the truck just turned off, everything shut down even the radio. . . Checked the ignition and the key was still on, luckly when the car stopped the cars behind me stopped. I was then able to turn the key again, and the truck turned on. . . This has happened one other time but don't remember the date exactly. . . I also had the water pump replaced after being told by the dealer that it was ok. . . I am looking to get refunded for that repair. . . Bulletin no. 13079.
This vehicle was taken to champion Chevrolet for a recall for a failing water pump seal. During that analysis, the power steering pump and rack assembly was found to be low on oil and with metal shavings in the pinion rack was near failure. The failure mode on this model and all Traverses, enclaves, and acadias is the ultimately steering lock and a probably crash. This is a definite recall item that should be finally determined by NHTSA for all years of this vehicle. The repair estimate is over $2600 as the entire front engine assembly has to be removed. Other owner experiences indicate that this repair is widespread in these gm models and is a serious safety issue.
On the day of purchasing the vehicle, only seconds after signing the contract, I was told the vehicle could not be driven because of safety recalls. Had to wait three weeks before getting the vehicle I purchased, very nervous after that situation. Then after only having the vehicle approximately 8 months the power steering pump, water pump, and leaking hoses went out with over $1,500 in repairs. Three days after the second incident they called, after I brought the vehicle in for more business to get an oil change, tires rotated and a safety check, and they told me the tires were unsafe and they would not rotate the tires. They further stated that they would replace the tires for approximately $800. I am now on the fifth (5th) day without the family vehicle and very stressed. A 20 year veteran retired from the united states marines is asking for your support and assistance to make a bad deal right. Here is my statement on the last 9 months with dealing with prince Chevrolet of albany, 2701 ledo road, albany, GA 31707 and my breaking down lemon and vehicle. I am outraged that this is the type of customer service I am receiving from chevy and I want out of the contract. I no longer want anything to do with chevy or GMC. I hope to hear back from someone other than the local prince of albany staff, they are obviously giving me the run around. Thank you prince Chevrolet for not supporting your veterans and customers of georgia with the right service. A great way to show the example of the rich stealing from the poor. I am not rich enough or powerful enough to hold prince Chevrolet of albany, 2701 ledo road, albany, GA 31707 accountable but ask that someone assist me so I can just get back to a normal life and transport my family around safely.
Received a letter from gm that my car might have a leaking water pump seal. (it does because I have had to add coolant) . The letter states that for the next 2 years chevy will add coolant as needed. Why not recall the car and replace the water pump. It is not going to magically stop leaking in 2 years.
Water pump replaced in March 2013, covered under warranty. Hvac actuator also replaced at this time. 2000 mile trip made after repair and upon return engine suffered catastrophic failure on April 2, 2013. Diagnosis catastrophic failure of the 3rd cylinder. Cause unknown. Occurred during morning commute on heavily trafficked highway. Children were in car when it stalled. Had to be pushed from center lane of traffic and then towed to dealer. One week after car returned from engine replacement, leak appeared in hvac. Leak repaired and car retrieved April 29, 2013. A week to the day of the car being repaired, service stabilitrak system light came on. Power steering seemed non existent and check engine light appeared. This problem required replacement of internal mode switch, reprogramming of electronic control module and transmission control module. Car retrieved may 7, 2013. Car returned but steering wheel still difficult to turn and squeaks when in use. Problem seems to worsen with increasing temperatures. Additionally, radio will not always shut off after driver door opened. Service stated they could not reproduce problem but happens frequently to driver. 4 serious service requirements in two months for a 2. 5 year old car with under 60k miles. Chevrolet certainly doesn't make a vehicle to last and this vehicle is certainly not a car to call safe or reliable.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that anti freeze was leaking. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the water pump and seal needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 28,000.
Serpentine belt shredded, water pump, battery and power steering failed twice, once in 2012 and once in 2013. Serpentine belt replaced again in 2013 because it was damaged by a stone. Currently have lawsuit against gm to replace the car for safety reasons. They are dragging their feet. Lawsuit going on over a year.
