Recently purchased car. On Thursday December 3,2020. Was driving car back home on a busy street, car starting stalling. Would not go past 20 mph, engine was revving. Next morning to go to work car would not go on reverse. Had to get car towed to the dealer and they are telling me that it is a transmission problem. That the transmission needs to be replaced. Devon at rick hendrick in duluth, GA has been nothing but rude since purchase of vehicle now I do not feel safe driving this vehicle and I have 4 young children ages 10, 8, and 5. If someone would of hit me from behind we could of been injured. I bought a new vehicle for the piece of mind of not having any issues with the vehicle and now this. I am very upset.

Car stalls while driving very abruptly. Reduce engine power and service stablitrak comes on. Then traction control warning lights flash. Very very dangerous. Happen while driving car begins to shake violently. Engine light remains on. Happening too often had the same issue with my 2007 chevy equinox. No way this should not be recalled it's definitely a known issue.

A week after the purchase, the car started to stall while driving and the ac went out. The dealer replaced the air compressor. About a few weeks later, the vehicle stopped wouldn't start. I took it back to the dealer and they claimed to have taken it to another repair shop and they deemed it an electrical issue. They claimed to have fixed it. I got the vehicle back and the very next day it started to smoke while driving and the ac went out again.

1st time vehicle on highway. Lost engine power . . . Engine light and stability light came on. Cycled through error codes reduced engine power, service stability track, traction control off. Code p16820. 2nd time it happened at a stop light. Car will not go more than 10 miles an hour. Engine runs choppy like it's going to stall. After car was shut off overnight, it reset and ran normal except engine light stays on. Dealer can't find any issue. Can't recreate. See on youtube that this has happened to many others. There should be a recall!!! dangerous especially for a family car. People buy Traverse's when they have children!!!! please recall!!!.
My husband and I went to the store with our two kids just to grab some groceries. We live less than 5 miles from the grocery store. On our way home the car started shaking while idling and acted like it was going to stall out on us. We were in the middle of the intersection when the car decided to start sputtering, shaking violently and then shut off. Thankfully enough we were able to pull into a parking lot to try and figure out what happened. After multiple attempts the car finally started back up. We were not able to go above 20 mph. We found out that the fuel pump went out so we spent the $300 to replace that. Once that was replaced we thought we were in the clear. About two days later the same thing happened again except I was on the expressway doing about 70-80 mph. Same thing, was able to start it up again after multiple attempts, couldn't go above 40 mph this time. About two months ago we started having p0017, p0018, p0019 trouble codes pop up. We tried to replace the sensors and they were still popping up. We cleared them, about 5-10 minutes later they would pop back up again. Thursday the car was working fine. It was running great, no shaking, wasn't acting like it was going to stall out. The engine light was still on but we are now to the point that there is some sort of electrical issue going on. This is our only vehicle, and we have two kids and jobs to get to. We are tired of putting money into this trying to figure out what's wrong with it. My parents owned this car before we did. We are the second owners. I find it pretty convenient that everything starts to go downhill after warranty dates are up or after you hit a certain mileage. And with the strike that just happened, gm isn't wanting to take any responsibility for the fear of losing money yet again. Issue a recall or you will end up with lawsuits. Either way you will lose money. Save some lives.
I have been having issues with this car cutting out/stalling for 2 years now. I keep taking it in to mechanics to get it fixed and it seems to work then randomly leaves me and my daughter stranded. Sometimes it will stall once and keep going. . . Other times it has taken me 3-4 hours to get home. I've had a major tune up done, replaced the fule pump, fuel pressure sensor, map sensor, purge valve canister, cleaned the throttle body, and replaced relays. It has stalled on freeways, and middle of rush hour traffic leaving me stuck in unsafe locations. Similar models have recalls but not mine. Guessing they pick and choose how many of their vehicles they are willing to fix.
I have had issues with my 2018 Traverse since December. The problem started around 9,000 miles. I took my vehicle into the dealership and they could not duplicate the issue. I would put the vehicle in drive and the "d" light would blink but the car would not move. In March after several trips to the dealership they finally repaired the vehicle. They removed the transmission and replaced a sensor. The vehicle did not have any issues until July 23rd when driving on a city road the car got stuck in first gear. I was pushing the gas pedal and the car would not go over 20 mph. I took the vehicle in and they replaced the tcm and solenoid sensor. I picked up the vehicle on 8/8 only to return on 8/15 when the car stalled and jerked while I was driving. On 8/16 I spoke with the dealership who informed me Chevrolet advised them to clear the code and return the vehicle to me. This is a known issue to them and the engineering department is working on figuring out the problem. As of 8/18/2019 this vehicle has spent 47 days in the shop for repairs and has 10 repair orders.

Driving late at night with family down a state highway/city street with some stoplights and rotary, vehicle suddenly seems to be intermittently losing power or transmission slipping when driving. When giving gas entering rotary, intermittent slipping/power loss (like a skipping power/slipping transmission) worsened - felt greater loss of power and for slightly longer periods. Noted engine light came on. Worsening intermittent power failure/slipping/hesitation/jerking continued when giving gas to engine for ~1/4 mile until pulled into shopping mall parking lot. Felt lucky to be able to reach lot, called for flatbed tow to dealer. Dealer had vehicle for 1 week, and when assessment complete, reported dtc p0011, p0014, p0021 and p0024 cam codes. They visually inspected with no concerns, test actuator system operating. Search for bulletins revealed document 5251270 with no repair yet for anomaly, which describes "some customers may comment that the ses [service engine soon] lamp is illuminated. This lamp may have come on by itself or in some cases, the customer may experience drivability issues such as a stall, lurch, stumble, hesitation or power loss after an auto stop/restart. " notes technician may find the above listed codes. Cause is listed as "a software anomaly that allows the 'verify sync' status to not restart and reach full 'sync' when the engine restarts. The ecm then reports actual cam positions as '0' while it continues to command the actuators to move resulting in engine roughness and/or drivability concerns (as stated above) with the possibility of setting multiple cam phaser performance dtcs. " instructions on the bulletin are to check and clear codes and return vehicle to customer. Bulletin created on 5/7/2018 with 5 updates since. Brought vehicle back to dealer due to concerns of lack of fix and safety when recurs, dealer unable to replicate.
Tl the contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse. While the contact's brother was driving 35 mph, all the warning indicators illuminated. The driver informed the contact that there was a burning wire odor under the hood, which entered the vehicle throught the vents. The vehicle stalled on an incline, but the driver was able to place the gear shifter into neutral. The vehicle rolled backwards and the driver was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart. The following day, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the high pressure fuel pump failed due to fuel in the oil. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no open recalls. No further assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

Car had about 10000 miles and in two separate occasions has stalled, steering wheel had stop working, couldn't steer, car turns off when stopped at traffic lights, alrms go off and dealer just says they can only reprogram the computer, no repairs available. On a third time braking system alarms went off and dealer had to replace the braking system. Vehicle has always failed while in motion. Dealer and manufacturer will be responsible if someone gets hurt because this car does not function as it should.
Transmission light came on, car started excessively jerking and stalling (vehicle was in motion on a city street while turning and driving straight) took into dealership and said gm does not have a fix for this problem and it's currently under investigation. There are concerns with all 4 or pairs of camshaft position system performance dcts p0011 p0014 p0021 and p0024. Dealership cleared codes and we were told chances are it won't happen again.
I keep getting multiple random engine misfires that there seems to be no solution to fix the problem. The vehicle has been to the dealership several times. Runs for a while and starts acting up again. Stalls out when attempt to take off after coming to a stop or just starts to move and goes real slow, also has trouble getting up hills due to loss of power. Keep getting told it's catiloc converters and have replaced 3 times in last year. Have also replaced spark plugs and coil overs as well as fuel pump, mas airflow sensor, map sensor, oxygen sensors, and a few other things. Seems there is a lot of people with the same issues but no fix. . . .
While driving my 2011 chevy Traverse lt on highway with 130,000 miles on it when my Traverse lost acceleration and stalled out with cars flying up on me at 65-70 mph,I finally costed over to the emergency lane, had it towed to dealership and techs couldn't figure this out , after a week of service techs couldn't find the problem, I was finally notified by dealership that there's something wrong with motor and electrical and it's not worth fixing. I would like to know what I can do with this .

Engine bearing failure causing engine to seize. While driving on busy highway vehicle stalled causing unexpected stopping with no warning from vehicle.
While driving this car I will get three audible "bongs" then I will get error messages "service stabilitrak", traction control off", engine power reduced". At this time I have no control over the speed of this vehicle. I can depress the gas pedal and get an increase in engine rpm but no more forward speed (mph). My forward speed will continue to decrease. I will have to pull off the road and turn the engine off. Wait two or three minutes then restart the engine. If I am lucky the vehicle will operate normally but will display a service light on the dash board. This vehicle is dangerous. I have contacted my auto dealer and parts were installed. I asked about the cause of this predicament and the service manager said the same situation could be caused by a hundred different sensors in the vehicle. I now have the same problem with this vehicle. 17k miles and 12 months later. Again; this vehicle is dangerous. If this happens while passing another vehicle on a country road or if these errors occur while driving down an on ramp to hi-way traffic the danger increase. I understand the need for error messages to warn of engine problems but the control of forward speed should not be taken away from the driver.
