Fuel Pump Problems of Chevrolet Venture

I filled up the van, 1. 5 hrs later we stopped to use a rest area and it wouldn't start. It sounds like it wants to start but it just won't fire. We had to get it towed, (we were 400 miles from home). It has been in the shop for over a month. They have tried everything. We had a diagnostic at a chevy dealer and they said 100% it needed a new fuel pump. They wanted $800. I found one for $300. But it did not fix the problem. Now we are still stumped. The dealership does not want to help me again unless I get it fixed there. I can't afford their prices.

Consumer stated fuel pump kept malfunctioning. This was the third time. Consumer took the vehicle to pep boys for repairs because warranty expired. Consumer felt that there must be some kind of a defect in vehicle to cause the fuel pump to malfunction.

Fuel pump was replaced last year to correct the problem of vehicle starting hard. Vehicle is now acting up again and we are having a hard time starting it. Also, the vehicle is still making a loud clunking noise from the rear of the vehicle. We were told it was the shocks last year and had them replaced. Obviously this was not the correct answer!!! brakes were also replaced when vehicle was purchased. Brakes still feel soft and are making a grinding/squealing noise.

Also on 12-7-2000 replecement fuel pump that was replaced on 11-2-2000 stopped working during normal driving conditions. Car coasted into parking lot where after a few minutes driver was able to restart vehicle.

Delphi fuel pump malfunction which caused a no start condition. Dealer replaced fuel pump 3 times. Deaelr won't place a different kind of fuel pump because of warranty issues. Please provide further information.
