My 2002 Chevrolet Venture had a fractured fuel inlet that I had repaired at the dealership prior to the recall (no. 06230 I believe). I have submitted to the manufacturer for reimbursement for the charges to correct the defect and the manufacturer is denying that this is a recall solely because I did not receive a recall notice. My vehicle clearly falls within the VIN# for a recalled vehicle but since they did not send me a notice they claim it is not a defect. I would like reimbursement for correcting on my own and prior to the recall the defective vehicle/parts.

The vehicle's gas tank</a> had a small leak. The fumes could be smelled in the garage and small spots were seen on the garage floor. The mechanic told the consumer that the tank was plastic and a knob had broke off causing the leak.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Venture. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign id number 07v349000 (fuel system ,gasoline:storage). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair and the contact was informed that she would be charged if her vehicle did not have the failure present. The manufacturer was called and stated the same thing. There had been no failure to date.
