I purchased this car brand new and I've had the same problem to the current date. The car engine will shut off while I am driving. I took it back to the dealer and they said it was a software problem and they updated the software. The car worked fine for a while and then started to have the same problem. I took the car back and the dealership said there was no problem found with the car. Now the car is not under warranty and I'm stuck with this problem and a payment for this death trap. This past week the car has stalled multiple times. It will shut off and the "d" light will blink. I put the car in park, shut it off, and then try to restart. It struggles to restart, and then will finally start. This happened while I was making a left turn and left my family and I coasting in front of oncoming traffic. I have made a right hand turn and the car engine shut off causing the car behind me to sla. On brakes and drive up on the sidewalk. This issue is very dangerous. My car is not listed under a recall, but it is having the same issue as Chrysler 200's that are being recalled. Trading this car will only set up another buyer because this issue is not detectable. No check engine light or any other caution light comes on.
The radio/media center software has stopped working. The radio will play and you will hear sounds but you can't see any transactions going on. It stays on the same station that you left it on and it comes on and goes out every minute. The other features won't show at all (media, phone, navigation etc. ). It does this while the car is on or off! I tried to fix it via the online information that the websites offers to no avail. This is frustrating and should be a recall. This all happened after the warranty on the car expired of course.
This vehicle when I purchased it has been having multiple problems. The transmission has been slipping into neutral while I am driving at least twice a week. I have to pull over cut the vehicle off and re start it. Also there's always issues while I try and start the vehicle. I have taken it to five different mechanics to fix the problem. New alternator, new battery, five different diagnostics made. The extended warranty mentions that I need to bring it to the dealer. Which I have twice. They re set the software which did not fix the problem. It still slips into neutral. Cottman transmission did a diagnostic that I paid for out of pocket. They informed me that this problem and the codes that came up are manufacturing issues. Associated with bad electrical wiring as well as a bad set up for the transmission. Also the same model make and year for this vehicle there was a re call for the same exact problem and code. The extended warranty company covers these problems but told me to bring it to Chrysler to fix. Chrysler has checked my vehicle twice and re set the system for the light to come off. Of coarse the problem was not resolved. Now everyone is still pointing the fingers at each other. This has been going on for over a year. My factory warranty should fix it under the power train warranty also silverrock should fix it under my extended warranty contract. There has been no resolution. I have to consistently take off work to maintainance this car. Please help.
A couple months after I purchased my Chrysler 200 I began to have many problems with it such as electrical problems and speed control problems. The main in the Chrysler wou a couple months after I purchased my Chrysler 200 I began to have many problems with it such as electrical problems and speed control problems. The main dash in the Chrysler will constantly flashing all of its lights and tell me that my parking brake needs serviced and that my transmission needs serviced. I have gone into the dealership where I purchased the car and have been told that nothing is wrong with the car it just needs a software update but that never solves any of my problems. The car tries to stall out every day in the middle of driving and while it's trying to stall out tends to jump and accelerate on its own. On June 6, 2018 my Chrysler 200 was involved in a collision. This collision took place in akron ohio do to the car jumping, accelerating and eventually stalling out and locking up the car, so I was unable to break or steer. The car ended up rear ending another vehicle due to myself not being able to control the locked up car. I have been into the dealership that I bought the car from multiple times urging them to fix the problem. And every time I go in they say that there is not a problem it just needs a software update. I have never gotten proper maintenance that needs done on this CA I have been into the dealership that I bought the car from multiple times urging them to fix the problem. And every time I go in they see that there is not a problem it just needs a software update. None of the software update have fixed any problem that I have had with this car. And because of that my car was in an accident because of a problem with Chrysler that I had no control over.
Drove the car from germantown MD to washington DC for a program, got in the car two hours later. Door unlocked with remote, place foot on brake, dash lights and radio turns on car won't start. Stop recognizing my remote in the car. I had people try hooking up jumper cables, nothing happen. After two hours of trying to figure out what's wrong car starts. Drive the car home with no issues. Next morning car won't start same thing happening. I looked down and noticed the car showing in neutral when the knob turned to park. The electrical system reading my car in neutral but it's not therefore it won't start. I took my car in for the recall and criswell only did a updating of software, the rewiring of the electrical system wasn't done. The recall wasn't done as called for and the remote is a replacement after they lost my original.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed as needing a software update and having recalls. The software was updated, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where a failure could not be found. The throttle was cleaned and the oil was changed. The manufacturer was notified and stated that there were no recalls or software updates for the vehicle. The failure mileage was unknown.
On multiple occasions, random times of day, I would attempt to start my car (or sometimes already be driving) but the engine light and parking light would turn on with a message reading "service transmission, service parking brake" and I can not get the car out of park. This happened at times when I was parked in my driveway, when I was at a complete stop at a red light and has even left me stranded in vacant parking lots. I took the car in for service and was told it was a software upgrade. I left my car, had the upgrade and the problem still occurs. I was told that the only option left is to replace the transmission. During all of my conversations and visits to the dealer, I surprised that no one has mentioned once to me that this car was recalled for electrical issues. I found that out myself when I was doing some research on the issue. This is a huge safety concern. I was left stranded in a parking lot overnight until I could find a ride to get me home, ive stalled out in the middle of the highway when I was stopped for traffic, and ive lost count of the amount of work days ive been out because was car has not been reliable enough to start when I need it to. The car is less than 1. 5 years old. I shouldn't be dealing with these issues.

The contact stated that the nine speed transmission models failed and the manufacturer did not take action to address the software update failure since mid 2014. The contact also experienced the alarm system going off and, upon using the owner's manual instructions, the alarm would not turn off. The dealer stated that the software needed to be updated and that the manufacturer had not yet provided the software update necessary to repair the vehicle. The dealer was unable to disclose to the contact when the software update would become available. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer a fifth time because the failure continued to occur. Leaving for work in the am, started my 2015 Chrysler 200, reversed out of my driveway, made it to the corner of my cul DE sac and the engine completely shut off. There was a message in the display including the words "trans," and "emergency park. " the entire electrical system shut down and the emergency brake engaged. I could not put the car in park because the gear system was locked up. When the tow truck arrived he had a hard time with it because the emergency brake would not release, and the wheels would not roll. I couldn't move this car if I wanted to. I couldn't open the trunk, lock the doors, use flashers, nothing. . . Anything electrical was out of commission. My local Chrysler dealership had the car for two days, said they "performed many software upgrades" and "test drove it extensively" and that it was fixed. 20 minutes after I picked it up, I was driving in the center lane of a 3-lane highway, with my 4 year old and 1 year old in the car, and the engine shut down and the car's power and electrical system shut down also. Luckily, I was able to coast into a parking lot. I had the car towed back to the dealer again. The manager of the dealership said if it happens again, I can replace the car or they will buy it back. I am terrified to drive this car again. I was lucky the first time, barely lucky the second time, who knows what situation I might be in if I agree to let this happen again? I cannot put my children in this car again. This vehicle is a substantial safety risk, and also poses additional risks to other drivers on the road around it. Since everything shuts off when this happens, if I were to get into a crash as a result of it, the airbags likely would not deploy, adding to the risk of injury. I do not feel comfortable in a Chrysler 200, I no longer want this vehicle.
15v470000 (electrical) however the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated while driving at approximately 4o mph, without warning the vehicle shifted to neutral. I pulled the vehicle over to the shoulder and sat for a few minutes placed the vehicle in parked position placed the vehicle back into drive and proceeded to residence with no failures. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed but the failure wasnt duplicated the vehicle software was updated. However the failure recurred intermittently the remedy has not resolved the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 2000 miles. Am.
1. Delayed/harsh shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. Especially harsh when the vehicle was cold. 2. Vehicle lunges forward when downshifting rapidly. For example, if I was driving 55mph and had to stop quickly, as the transmission downshifted the entire vehicle would thrust/jump around 3rd-4th gears. It almost feels like the car is going to accelerate instead of stopping. 3. In a situation where the vehicle is slowed, but not stopped, and then accelerated (such as exiting a parking lot onto a major road), once the accelerator is applied, the engine rpms shoot up, but the transmission delays dramatically before upshifting, causing the vehicle to jerk. 4. At speeds between 24-26mph, the transmission jumps around wildly between gears causing the vehicle to jerk. After multiple service visits and software updates, the transmission and torque converter were replaced. The vehicle has been driven for over 3 weeks since this repair, and issues 2, 3 & 4 still exist. Other issues: 1. Intermittent extended crank time¿2-3 times longer than a typical crank before starting. A. Engine code showed the dealership there had been extended crank times. Dealership attempted repairs, citing an oil pressure problem, but issue continued. B. On a separate service visit, we were told this was due to a recall and they were awaiting parts. C. Recall work was performed around 12/1/15, but the issue still exists. The issue has actually gotten substantially worse since the weather has gotten cold. 5. ¿park¿ not engaging properly. When putting the vehicle into ¿park¿, there was a loud clunking sound. When the brake was released, the car would roll forward. A. This issue seems to have been resolved by repairs around 12/1/15.
