When going a certain speed car will jerk and shift roughly into next gear, faulty air bag system shown on dashboard. Car had been struggling to start lately went to autozone with the check engine light now showing. Diagnostic machine advised power train system issues / antilock brake system issues. Codes: p1634, u0420-00, c2101-17, & c1246-1c mileage: 111250 upon doing my research these are common issues with this vehicle but yet no recall could be found for my specific vehicles using VIN #.

Available upon request. Switching gears could be a hazard. Mechanic said a previous recall for issue was fixed. It has been sitting at the mechanics for 4 months. Vehicle ran fine in the morning. Went to drive and vehicle switched from park to neutral and break system lights came on. I went to try a few hours later and the car was dead and would not start. We tried to jump the car and it would not work.
1) I believe there is a problem with my transmission shifting gears. I am willing to have it inspected. 2) there is a sudden and violent shift that happens when shifting between 3rd - 5th gear I believe but it's random, only a couple of times a month. I have had people with me and they thought I hit a deep pothole or hit something with my car like a small animal. 3)the issue has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealership. 4) my car has not been inspected by any of the above except a dealership years ago when I mentioned it but nothing was found. My car model and year have a few recalls and transmission is one but no recalls have been issued for my specific car yet. I check yearly. 5) I do not get any warning lights, messages, or symptoms, my car just violently shifts from time to time when shifting into 3rd - 5th gear. My car does sometimes get an awd service light that comes and goes and never lasts more than a couple of days. The research I did online said that's normal for the 200 and not to worry if it doesn't stay lit. I am not sure if this is a related issue, another issue, or just a thing the 200 does as mentioned online. The car had this problem since I purchased it in 2017 but the dealership I purchased it from was in a different state so taking it back wasn't an option. I had mentioned the issue to a Chrysler dealership years ago while getting an oil change but no issue was found. 6) how fast were you going? I think it's between 3rd and 5th gear so like 25-45 mph I think. 7) about how many miles were on your vehicle at the time of the incident? my 200c has had this consistently since I got the car with around 10,000 miles and my car now has about 82,000 miles on it and just did the violent shift recently. There is no warning or pattern as to when it will happen except that it happens between 3rd-5th gear and it doesn't matter the time of the year or the weather.
The first time this incident occured I was driving in a residential neighborhood and my horn started randomly honking. Over the past few months the horn will randomly start honking and will continously honk for long periods of time. The horn will blast for miles and there is nothing that I can do to make it stop. I have been pulled over because of this and it's terrible driving at night with the horn blaring. The horn does not work regularly anymore. Then my car started shutting off while driving with no warning lights and total loss of anything that is powered (steering, brakes, etc). I have had to pull over on the freeway in unsafe areas, stuck in the middle of intersections with kids in the car also. After shutting off sometimes I am able to start it right away and it will be fine and other times it wont start and after some period of time it will finally start. I replaced the battery and got a new key fob but neither one has fixed these issues. On top of the random horn blaring and car completely shutting off while driving I now have begun having issues with my transmission. It started randomly not shifting while driving causing me to have to pull over and restart the car after about 5 mins. I have had to pull off the freeway to restart my car. The transmission issue was random at first but I haven't been able to drive my car at all because it will not shift after 10 mph. It is automatic with manual option (which I never use) but it will not shift gears in auto mode or manual. The horn blaring is not only embarrassing but the loudness of it is detrimental to a persons hearing. I have read many reports of this particular car having these same issues and the fact that it completey shuts off without warning and loss of power steering, brakes is extremely dangerous especially when traveling on freeways/highways at 70mph not only for me and my children but the other drivers around me. I have not had it diagnosed or repaired by a mechanic due to the transmission issue.

My vehicle has 3 recalls on it that are essential to the safety of the driver and those in the vehicle with the driver and they are refusing to cover this because I am not the original owner. I feel like this is not right considering that this is a Chrysler issue and they should be responsible for it. The car cuts off without warning due to the recall issue I could be on the highway, in a parking lot or just cruising in my neighborhood and it cuts off,.
Car has been stalling during deceleration, braking and at stops. The issue was fixed only in one model when multiple years of this make and model was doing the same thing. The issue started in 2011 and was supposed to be addressed in 2012 but the actual recall to fix it was actually only for 2015 but I almost got into an accident by stalling. I bought the car & it started some days later in which the seller assumed it was fixed. After taking it to pep boys and getting other repairs it resulted in a $2k repair and its still stalling at stops and when slowing down. Why was the issue only fixed in 2015 models if it was made aware in 2011-2012? those models would need that recall repair also. I have not been able to drive it continuously without it cutting off for a full day and nobody can figure out why because no codes are coming up. When researching I found a forum where it was suggested this was a major issue that was never rectified by Chrysler. They closed the investigation but did not service all cars with this issue.

Airbag light stays on transmission service light comes on when driving and vehicle stalls.
Any time I am coming to a stop from 40/45 mph the car would accelerate although I am breaking! this is not safe. It happens randomly while driving I could be in traffic and it will accelerate soon as I put my foot on the break.
I was barely coming off of the freeway during traffic hour when my dashboard randomly indicated to shift into parking gear, which I did, and then the car turned off on me right before at the top of a downhill. I couldn't shift into neutral and couldn't get the car to turn back on. There I was in the hot weather with a car in the middle of the road right off of the freeway exit without a clue as to what happened. I had to get towed and the vehicle is now at the dealer; they won't be able to take a look at it until 5 days after the occurrence.
Unknown.
Everything was fine I get my oil changed regularly, I get fluid top offs, I keep it well maintained. The other day while driving on the freeway my car slowly started to die out, the rpm was hitting at 4-5 but my speed was only 30 mph. This is my only vehicle I'm my mother's soul provider, taking her to after chemo check ups, to her liver doctor appointments. I was told this car has this problem alot. I was hoping something could be done to help me out. .

Transmission fail check engine light went on. Car was not accellorating, bucking can't drive over 30 mgh. Thank god I was drving a back street when it happened and not the mass pike. Two estimates done. They both said replace the transmission. What ??? burnt transmission fluid at 77,400 miles. Three diagnostic errors p0128 p0734 p1790 . I have to replace my transmission at a cost of $5,000 this is not supppose to happen at 77,400 . Please advise and recall or concessions available.
The vehicle shuts off while driving at any given time. It started about 4 months ago while I was on the freeway in the fast lane. No warning lights or sounds came on. I costed over to the left shoulder because it was rush hour. When I tried to restart it, it sounded like it was stalling and I couldn't jump it either. It was like the engine got hot even though the gauge didn't say it was. After I let it set for about 30 minutes it started right back up. I thought it was a one time thing, but it's been doing it a lot more and I've had to sit and wait for longer periods of time. I searched online and found the symptoms of what it's doing and it appears there was a recall and investigation about the issue. If I remember correctly there was over 13,000 vehicles recalled for the powertrain module or something like that but when I searched my vehicle it says no recall.
This car is totally unsafe and is going to cause serious injury. When initially trying to accelerate this car jerks uncontrollably and doesn’t go. It stalls something serious then all of a sudden propels itself forward into traffic!!! making other ppl swerve around me frantically. I can’t come to a complete stop at a stop sign then go when it’s my turn without the car talking a big stalling leap of death. Not to mention when coming to a stop it often cuts off due to something being wrong with the oil system causing it to burn too much oil. I’ve never had a car that I had to put oil in continuously even though my oil changes (via Chrysler) are on time. Horrible thing is Chrysler says they know the car does this but won’t fix it!!! this lemon is going to take me out.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while parking the vehicle in his garage, he had not engaged the parking brake, but the vehicle was shifted into park(p) when the vehicle rolled forward. The contact stated that the garage had a slight downward slope. The contact stated that the vehicle was still in park(p), but he could physically push the vehicle forward. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the park rod needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact was advised by the dealer that the park rod had been inspected under NHTSA campaign number: 15v090000 (power train) and had been inspected and serviced, but not replaced in 2015. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,098.
As I was driving down a slight slope while braking to try to come to a stop, the car died / shut off. Within the few seconds that I was trying to slow to a stop, the brakes stopped working, various lights turned on the dash (I can't remember which), and then the car shut off entirely. If there was a car or something in front of me, I would not have been able to stop because the brakes weren't working. This problem has been reported numerous times through various online forums/sites. There was no warning, message, or other symptom to indicate this would happen. This car also has stalling issues that has been complained of by other Chrysler 200 owners as well. Both stalling and shutting off poses a serious concern to all drivers.

While driving vehicle lost power and began to show service transmission and park brake check signs. Vehicle lost power and was lucky we weren't rear ended on the road by the cars behind or cause an accident. Looking at this is year there are several complaints with the same issue. Car only has 33k miles and is having transmission issues.

The failure mileage was 87,992.
Unknown. When stopped or while slow down to turn out after trarrfic is clear when I put my foot on the gas it doesn’t go, like the transmission is slipping. Then after a while it allows me to put my foot on the gas and proceed driving.
I own a 2015 Chrysler 200s with 27,000 miles on it and I’m currently having the transmission completely replaced due to failure. The automotive shop that is working on the vehicle tells me that the transmission fluid is completely burnt and has metal in it. There was never any warning signs that there was a condition going on until the day that the car went in the shop and the transmission light came on. I have the car at the dealership in November 2021 and all they could tell me at the time was that this particular model car tends to shift hard when I complained to them about the issues I was having. I feel like the dealership should have looked further into the matter because now I am spending $6000 to replace the transmission.
Car is stalling for unknown reason without any warning or light appearing on dash. Feeling unsafe especially when driving on the highway because I never know when it will happen. Has been happening every day for the past 3 days. Happened in the beginning after a couple months of having the car and the first time I took it in, they couldn't find anything wrong or replicate the problem.
We purchased our vehicle brand new in 2015 with 6 miles on it. 1. The vehicle has always shifted hard, but every time I brought it up at the dealership I was told that "the car is just learning my driving habits" here we are 10 years later and my car is still shifting hard and it still won't fall into gear like it's supposed to. 2. Within the first 6 months the airbag light came on and would throw a warning message on the display, to have it checked. Even after acknowledging that I had seen the message it would beep at me and come on almost immediately. I took it in to the dealership on 3 different occasions while it was still under the 3 year warranty. The first two times I asked about it the dealership told me that they found a water bottle stuck under the passengers seat and that it was causing the wires to not stay connected. They claimed that it fixed the problem each time. The third time I took it in I made sure there was no trash under the seat and reset the light. After a day or so the warning light came back on. This time they said they would replace the parts under the seat, but I went to pick up my vehicle the dealership seemed confused about what was supposed to have been done. Then they said it was all fixed and hustled me out the door. I've asked about the issue at least 2 more times since being out of warranty. The dealership wants me to pay nearly $2,000 to have it fixed even though they say there's a known issue. And when my son and I were hit from the side in 2022 the airbags didn't deploy and I'm guessing it has to do with that light being on still to this day.
