The dealer changed the ignition switch per the recall 14v567000 for the vehicle about 2-3 years ago for a different issue with the switch. My daughter was driving the car about week ago July 30, 2020, she said she was at a traffic light on a busy street (Lincoln highway) in chicago heights IL and when it turn green she attempted to go and the vehicle cutoff and would not start back up. I arrived to her location. Another driver had pushed her into a parking lot to get her out of the middle of the highway, I tried to start the car and it would not catch. It would crank put not turn over, I had to get it towed home. After some testing of components, spark, gas pressure and fuel pump it was diagnosed with a bad ignition switch with a p2533 code that stated there was a problem with the ignition switch run position signal. This is a very troubling event since my recently turn 18 daughter has no experience with this sort of thing and thankfully there was no accident or physical harm done. I spoken with a person at a chrylser dealership service department about manufacturer coverage but she did not have a clue and transferred my call to the parts department that stated it might run $800- 1,000. 00 to replace the switch.
You have sent me two recalls on airbag inflator and ignition switch. I made my first call to moore Chrysler in peoria az on 9/8/15, again 10/12/15 and today 12/8/15 and they have not received any parts to repair my car. Why is this taking so long? I believe both my recalls are serious. Please advise what I can do to get these items fixed ASAP.

My vehicle has a delayed start/crank once key is turned, takes about three seconds to start the vehicle engine. The car has 87,000 miles on it and this just started to happen within the last few months. I initially thought it was the battery so I had firestone replace the battery. But that did not cure the problem. I than brought my vehcile to the Chrysler dealership and they did an inspection and verified that the ignition switch in fact had a delay crank concern. I also recieved a notification from Chrysler p57 recall notice. I was than informed by the dealership that there is no part available from Chrysler to fix it! I will be on some waiting list---go figure! a second wave of owners will be notified June 2015. . . . I feel sorry for them, take a number and wait. Wait and wonder if maybe while on the freeway going 65 ot 70 mph your ignition may "spring back " from run to off. . . That should be interesting when your car completely stops and you have no steering on the freeway with a mac truck behind you! seriously? I smell death lawsuit. Public safety is at risk. Chrysler does not have fix for the problem either. I bought a lemon. I want Chrysler to take there car back and give me another year model, say a 2009 that does not have this problem, or pay for a rental car during the time Chrysler decides how to remedy this problem. I feel unsafe in my car. What if one day the car doesn't even start and I am stranded at night on some road? this sucks.
There has not been an incident. About 3 months ago I was advised that the ignition switch in the Chrysler 300 would be replaced because it was defective and a safety issue. As of yet I have not been contacted that the required part was available and I was just informed by the dealer where the vehicle was purchased that it might be another month or two before the work could be performed. In the recall notice, p57 / NHTSA 14v-567, Chrysler states "they are sincerely concerned about my safety". Must not be too concerned as the defect may continue for another two months or so.

Have had 3 incidents in the past few months where the car would not shut off when the key was in the off position. The most recent occasion on 3/26/15 the car had been shut off and the key removed from the ignition and it continued to run with the headlights and interior lights still on. In each case, it has taken numerous tries, including putting the car in gear and moving it to be successful in shutting it down. Contacted Chrysler group and was told to take it to a dealership and have a diagnostic done, and if it was determined to be the failed ignition switch ( which I received a safety recall for in October 2014), they would cover the cost of the diagnostics. I contacted a local dealer and made appointment to have diagnostic done. Upon arrival, I informed them of what the issue was, and was told I would be waiting upwards of 3 hours to have it completed and even if they found that the issue was related to the recall, which I was told it most likely was, there was nothing they could do, as there were no replacement parts available at this time and they could not tell me an approximate date when the replacement parts would be available. I did not wait the 3 hours to have the diagnostic done. I am nervous to drive the car, as now that I am having an issue and knowing that there could be more issues related to the ignition switch recall (possible shut down while driving, etc. Etc. ). I know there are many other 2008 Chrysler 300 owners that are in the same position. This recall is taking too long to start resolving, and at least for my part in it, I have contacted a family lawyer and relayed the information, in the event that I am hurt or killed in an accident related to this safety recall. I called the vehicle safety hotline and was given the reference # 771291 for filing a complaint.
The crystler 2008 300 touring has been recalled ignition switch. Called crystler and they told me it was recalled and going to send letter. Never sent letter and when call crystler back then they said mine was made at a different place and it not recalled. Don't understand because the same ignition switch goes in every 2008 300 touring.
Received a Chrysler safety recall on defective ignition switch. Have been trying to get it fixed at my local Chrysler dealer where I purchased the vehicle. Upon each of my calls the dealer response is that they have no replacement parts and have no idea when they will have any. A safety recall with no replacement parts or any idea and a lack luster attitude as to when any will be received seems to be little regard for the public safety. My vehicle also has an airbag that was listed on the internet site for the defective airbags and when I confronted the dealer service department about three weeks ago on the matter they said there has been no recall by Chrysler to make any repairs or replacement.
