The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 14v567000 (electrical system). The vehicle idled when it stalled and various warning lights illuminated. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the starter relay failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle had no failures prior to the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 169,920.

2 Starter Relay problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2014

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the key failed to turn in the ignition switch in order to start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the starter relay. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign id numbers: 14v567000 (electrical system) and 15v313000 (air bags) however the part was not available within a reasonable timeframe to schedule the recall repair. The dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. The manufacturer was contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the contact's vehicle would receive the recall repair. The failure mileage was unknown.

3 Starter Relay problem

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler 300. While attempting to start the ignition, the vehicle failed to start. After several attempts, the vehicle started and was able to be driven before stalling. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The module and starter relay were replaced. The failure recurred and the vehicle was towed to a dealer. The same repairs were performed, but the failure recurred.
