Transmission control module and valve body assembly. There is a backorder(700) from the factory on this product and the wait is at least 3 months! this problem has been confirmed by the dealership as well as the backorder. The vehicle will not go in gear even with the engine running. The message displays as vehicle is already in desired gear even when it is not, and you cannot put it unto any gear even neutral, as it gets stuck in park!. The code is po658, and the check engine light is illuminated and can happen without warning while vehicle is parked, stopped or idling so far as I experienced. The ignition will not turn off and the battery must be disconnected in order not to drain the battery. If this were to happen in traffic or or an intersection we all could have been killed. It has happened 4 times to us, two times it started working on its own and two times requiring a tow which cost me $600. Once at the dealer they charge a $140 non-refundable diagnosis fee and then can't fix the problem because they don't have the parts and can't get them. I think allowing vehicles to have electronic shifting transmissions instead of manual shifters is a huge safety risk! the car only has 70k highway miles on it and even if it was under warranty we can't get the darn parts. The dealer has to install it because it has to be programmed. The transmission is manufactured by zf in germany and they make others for several other car manufacturers. Chrysler uses this transmission across their entire fleet so this failure defect could show up in any of their product line.

Recently purchased a 2013 Chrysler 300 the vehicle has been having constant starting issues. I have taken the vehicle to at least 5 shops and every shop is telling me that my vehicle is having codes come back for the automatic transmission: control module (tcm, pcm) the car has been worked on multiple times and I am still unable to fix the problem. I seen there is a recall for 2013 Chrysler 300 for this exact issue and I believe my vehicle may have been affected.

I bought this vehicle, thinking it was great. I tried driving it home, and never made it. I lost all power on the highway in front of the semi. In return I did not have brakes, I didn't have steering, all lights turned off, and to top it off it wouldn't start again. I've replaced the pcm, starter, alternator, the power distribution, all the fuses/relays, and here I am still spending hundreds of dollars to try to get my vehicle to work again, and it's not seeming possible. I have 2 kids and now once I get it started I must worry if it'll happen again. The car only has 120,000 miles on it. It's been very well kept. And now I've bought all these parts and paid all this money to have it repaired. And now I'm out of my other vehicle, and with the corona virus I am out of work, and have no way to keep spending money to fix it or find out the problem. The electric light was on I replaced throttle and sensor as well. That didn't fix it neither.

Since 2013 I have been experiencing electrical issues with my car. First in 2013 it was very sporadic. The bluetooth and radio would not turn on approximately once every 2 to 4 months so I would turn off the car and restart it and it would connect. This year in January 2016 the fan was not blowing and there was not heat in the vehicle. I turn the car of and restarted it and the fan began to blow immediately. Last week my steering wheel felt like it was not going to complete my left turn and got really tight. Yesterday as I was driving my accelerator and brake began to feel very tight as if they were both getting stiff and the suspension started getting very tight then as I was backing into a parking space my backup camera started flickering like poltergeist. I took the vehicle to check it I needed a battery or a new alternator and they said nope. My battery, my alternator and started are all good. I have been two different places and they told me that I have an electrical issue that has just gone bad over time. I tried to have someone look into it in 2013, but anytime someone held onto the vehicle nothing happened. I just spoke to another mechanic and they said I may need a new pcm. I am not sure what the problem is but would like to get to the bottom of it.

I purchased my vehicle used 2 weeks ago. Initially the vehicle was running fine until I filled it up with fuel. As soon as I pulled out of the gas station my vehicle started stalling as if I was losing power to my vehicle. After a few miles the stalling stopped. In the past few weeks the stalling has become worse every time I pump fuel. It shuts off if I'm idle at a light, it shuts off when I'm attempting to park, turn left, or in a drive thru. As soon as I would crank my vehicle up and go to accelerate the car won't move until after a few seconds and then it just jerks out before a smooth drive. Yesterday I took it to a Chrysler dealership because after informing the used car sales lot where I purchased the vehicle they couldn't find the issue and wanted to keep my car for a week. After 10 hours of trying to find the issue they stated there had been a recall on the fuel tank for 2006 Chrysler 300s. He said that should fix the problem and I should be on my way. So I was relieved to hear the great news coming from the Chrysler dealership. Well after heading home and 20 miles out from the dealership there goes the stalling again last night. My vehicle shut off at the light and again as soon as I attempted to park my vehicle in the driveway. In addition to the fuel system issue is causing another issue that I truly fee wasn't investigated thoroughly. I noticed a recall on 2006 Chrysler pacifica where the stalling was caused by the fuel system, tcm, and pcm module basically dealing with the power train and this is very highly the same issue going on with 2006 Chrysler 300. There should've been a recall on both and there isn't. This is very dangerous as when I stalled onto the freeway I was almost hit by an 18 wheeler truck on last week. The tcm and pcm codes along with the fuel system code were showing in the diagnostic issue yesterday. Help please.

The check engine lite came on stayed on and the engine stopped. After a short period of time the engine started and the vehicle was taken to the nearest dealer in wilmington, nc. The dealer found dtc for incorrect gear ratio and reprogrammed the transmission control module. Old code was #68065111af and the new #was 68065111ag. Since that period of time when the vehicle speed reaches 40mph it seems that the transmission wants to downshift. Prior to the code change it was very smooth and no problems. I have contacted Chrysler customer service on numerous occasions for a resolution but all they can say is there isn't a problem. What has caused me to submit this problem is the response I received today on my latest inquiry. I feel that this condition is a safety hazard due to you not knowing how the transmission is going to react at this speed, what gear is it possibly going to select. Has this or a similar problem been submitted before. The drivetrain is still under warranty but if Chrysler can't provide adequate technical responses then what do you do. If any additional information is required please contact me and I will provide whatever I have.

On 01-17-2015 less than a month ago. While driving home, the car surged/hesitated and seemed to lose power. I also noticed the check engine icon illuminated. I was able to move to the expressway shoulder and shut the engine then restarted it, but the check engine icon still was illuminated, and the shifter would not shift. It was locked. No p, r, n, d, or s. I tried to make a telephone call via the vehicle's bluetooth but all my data base was gone. It was working earlier in the day. I shut the engine and exited the car to make a cell phone call. When I re-entered the car I was able to engage the shifter to the drive position, but the check engine icon was still illuminated, as well as other instrument cluster icons were missing and some were present that should not have been. However the car would not move until about 3000 rpm. When it finally did move, it moved very slowly, relative to the engine speed. Finally it shifted to a higher gear and seemed to drive normally. I exited the expressway and drove around the residential area to re-assure myself that the car would get me home safely. It was late Saturday night and the dealer was closed. I re-entered the expressway to rerun to my home. I never knew what gear the transmission was in. Paddle shifters were inoperative. While driving home I the navigation map was intermittently glitching, instrument cluster icons some missing many flashing. Also no cell phone. The dealer claimed the problem was corrected, but the work order stated 181905a1 transmission control module, software flashed. I assumed the problem was corrected but because it took place only one month old car, I became apprehensive. They never mentioned anything about the electronic/tipm failures that occurred with the instrument cluster. At this time I had no idea what a tipm was ! slightly more than one month later my vehicle failed again that was a tipm failure.
Powertrain control module - vehicle has been at dealership for over 1 month with a bad pcm module. This is covered under the 8 year / 80,000 mile factory warranty. Chrysler is unable to provide the part to fix the vehicle. I was told that the part is on a "mega backorder" and it is one of the most common issues known with the vehicle. I was told there are over 75 vehicles that are currently on the waiting list for the pcm. Failure of the pcm causes the vehicle to begin idling roughly at random times. The throttle control and esp lights on the dash begin to flash. The car loses acceleration and you can not gain speed over about 20 mph. Eventually, the vehicle dies. If you take the key out, you can always start it again. Sometimes the vehicle will not make it 20 feet, and sometimes it will make it for 2 days without an issue. My vehicle failed on the interstate and I was put in a potentially life-threatening situation because I had no warning. I could now be without a vehicle for months due to the shortage of this part. Chrysler is now in contact with the vendor of the part to try to get an estimate of when the part will be made available. They are unwilling to assist me with a rental car, loaner vehicle, or vehicle of comparible value. I am very disappointed with this vehicle and the Chrysler corporation.
: the contact stated after starting the vehicle, the gear would only shift into second and then locked up. There was no warning signal prior to the incident. The vehicle was taken to 2 different service dealers on 4 occasions. The first dealer determined that there was a procedure in the owner's manual to address this problem. When the vehicle was in the cold limp mode, the contact was suppose to stop the vehicle and move the selector level to the park position, turn off the engine and wait approx. 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, the engine should be restarted and the shift lever should be moved to the desire gear. On the second visit to the previous dealer, the transmission control module was replaced. On the third visit, the problem could not be duplicated but codes po763 and po762 were identified by diagnostic testing. The codes were cleared and the vehicle was road tested. On the fourth visit, the vehicle was hooked up to a computer recorder underneath the dashboard and code po762 was found. During this period, the vehicle was in the cold limp mode but after the transmission was adjusted the vehicle returned back to normal. The dealer contacted onstar (for the navigational system) for the vehicle to be hooked up to the monitor - case#8547343 was provided. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer, who removed and replaced the valve body. There was a NHTSA recall # 05v460000 pertaining to the power train: automatic transmission. The vehicle was not included in the recall due to the VIN.
Sometimes, my '300 touring' (3. 5 liter ho v6) just 'lunges' forward while I'm stopped at a stoplight for no particular reason. This has occurred on several occasions (about eight times now) whether my car is 'cold' and/or after it has 'warmed-up' for a while. Sometimes, even with the brake pedal firmly depressed, it'll still 'lunge' forward. . . Feeling as if my car will fly right through the intersection. On 04/04/05, while I was stopped at a stoplight behind another car, my car 'lunged' forward once again, but this time causing me to rear-end the vehicle in front of me. . . Causing damage to the front of my car, as well as to the rear of the other. To make matters worse, I was actually enroute to my local Chrysler dealer to have a 'recall notice' taken care of (for inappropriate gauge cluster readings). Prior to the accident, I had advised my dealer about the possible transmission problem, but each time I was told that my car's complicated electronics/computer system was in fact actually just trying to get accustomed to the way that I drive, and that it would adjust accordingly. On the day of the accident and during subsequent visits, I also had my dealer try to determine the cause of and rectify this particular problem; however, each time, I was advised that either they could not duplicate the problem nor have they heard anything like this before. I have read on some Chrysler 300 internet forums, that some others have also experienced this same problem, so, I'm now sure that my problem isn't just a unique incident after all. If anything, I would at least like to retrieve previously requested documentation from Chrysler identifying the actual existence of this particular problem, so that I can present this documentation to my automobile insurance company. This incident has now tarnished my perfect driving record, as well as also forced me to now pay a higher insurance premium.
