4 Power Train problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/19/2024

The vehicle began to shutter in reverse. This went on for about a week. Transmission fluid level was checked and it was in the normal range. My husband and I were driving it and made a sharp turn to find us in a spot to continue forward and go off a cliff or back up and get out of traffics way. He backed up and we heard a clunk. The car continues to drive forward with no issues but it acts as of it’s in neutral when you put it in reverse. No codes are showing either.

5 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/07/2024

Chrysler model 300s vehicle, 2018, repair service by an authorized Chrysler dealer in puerto rico, certified the replacement of original manufacturer parts of the power steering (rack-pinion) on three occasions, which does not accept the programming of technical support by the automotive specialists of the authorized Chrysler repair shop. It is evident that this vehicle faces a hidden problem from the manufacturer which had not been detected until now. Diagnosis could not replace the part because the programming defect by the manufacturer was not found. It is important to start an investigation into the power steering known as (rack-pinion), it is working correctly for the driver's safety to drive safely on the roads without this defect, which could not be corrected by the automotive technicians authorized by Chrysler in puerto rico, causing an accident. 6 Power Train problem of the 2022 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/19/2024

Just had this problem on my 2019 Chrysler 300. Recall came years after I had it and after I sold it. I got lucky and found out and got a reimbursement for the repair. Recall issued for "faulty diode on alternator". Very dangerous b/c the car will just cut out on you when you are trying to accelerate. . . Like crossing a road etc. My 2019 I didn't have long enough to see if it was an issue but now my 2023 Chrysler 300 is doing the same thing. Would not surprise me if it's the same faulty parts for every model. When you accelerate it just putters and loses power. My 2019 I got reimbursed on it had white smoke and ended up burning out another $1000 of electronics that I did not get reimbursed for. It's one of those things idk if they can detect it until it breaks or not.

7 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/11/2024

The computer issue has been on going for a while. The computer screen jumps around on its own changes air and heat settings, radio settings, blanks out on the rear view site while in use. Transmission skips on take off and bumps when changing gears particularly reverse and park. . . . . . Recently, last week, the car cut off in the middle of turning into a drive way no warning light or sign of distress. I attempted to start it and it just clicked like it was out of gas but wasnt. The (p) for parking kept blinking because it would not go in park completely so it never started . I had to use the parking brake to prevent it from rolling. I towed it to a auto repair shop and it was determined that there was an electrical fault with the fuel tank. So almost 1,ooo$ later it was replaced and its running however the transmission is not quite right. Im concerned about the fuel pump issue because it was sudden with no type of warning light etc. Theres been no "park outside recall' for this VIN# and I would like to know what I should to do to somewhat ensure my safety . Thank you for your consideration during this difficult time. I hope to hear back with a solution or advice.

8 Power Train problem of the 2016 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/04/2024

Have been having power steering problems over the past few years. Started by displaying a shift to park message while driving, my car would then lose power and shut down completely and power steering would lock up. Have taken to dealerships and independent mechanics and was told it was the wiring harness which they repaired several times and the car continued to have the issue. Approximately 3 months ago I was driving 55mph on highway when suddenly without any warning, the power steering failed and locked up making it very difficult to turn the wheel to get the vehicle off the highway safely. The power steering locking up put myself, my passengers and other drivers at risk bc I had no control over the steering. When I got the vehicle off of the highway a message repeatedly coming on and off saying “service power steering “ and another message saying power steering assist off service system. I was able to get the vehicle home, however the steering was extremely difficult especially in turns which is a major safety concern increasing a risk of an accident. I have done a lot of research about this issue and have found that there are numerous others with the same issue and same make/model as my 2016 Chrysler 300 c. I took the vehicle to another independent mechanic and they told me they couldn’t figure out what is wrong with it. I made another appointment with another mechanic and when I attempted to drive it “manually” as I had to do when it initially started doing this, the electric power steering has now completely locked up and the wheel is not functional at all and power steering has completely failed. This is not only a huge inconvenience but a serious safety hazard and should be investigated by the manufacturer.

9 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 02/28/2024

There were 2 separate incidents that occurred. The first one we were backing out of our driveway and the car just stopped running. We were unable to start it again after a dozen attempts. We had the vehicle towed to a local shop and when they got in the car, it started right up. We drove it around for a few weeks before the 2nd incident happened. We were driving on the freeway this time and the car just stopped running. We were in the fast lane and it was extremely dangerous to get off the side of the road due to heavy traffic. It again would not start and we had to have it towed home. Once it came off the tow truck, it started up. Something about it getting towed makes it start again, maybe the angle that it is in when it is getting pulled up on to the tow truck does something. I’ve been nervous to drive it for fear it will break down on me again. We have tried to start it again to take it to a service shop but it will not start. There were no warning lights before either incident. The first shop we had it towed to informed us after we dropped it off that the car was too new for them to run for codes, so they were unable to tell us the issues.

13 Power Train problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 11/05/2023

This is a serious safety concern regarding the shift interlock system on my 2005 Chrysler 300. When the vehicle is in park, particularly in traffic, and the light turns green, I am forced to lift the coin attachment and manually press the pink interlock just to change gears or accelerate. This creates a dangerous situation where I am unable to move the vehicle promptly, potentially leaving me vulnerable to a rear-end collision. The issue stems from recall 05v462000, which specifically addresses a shift interlock defect that Chrysler has failed to address despite my repeated attempts to have it repaired. Chrysler has not taken any action to resolve the recall issue, leaving me in a potentially life-threatening situation every time I drive. It is unacceptable that this recall has not been acted upon, and this critical safety defect must be corrected immediately.

14 Power Train problem of the 2013 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 10/23/2023

The timing chain guides broke under 100,000 miles just look a recall notice given to many that the same motor and vehicle had the same year. Notice states q1 2013 with the 5. 7 mds motor and this motor has all the labels amd original. Car almost cause a pile up on I-20.

15 Power Train problem of the 2016 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 10/02/2023

The bolts were loose on the driveshaft on the all-wheel-drive, which caused them to have to replace the entire driveshaft! if the driveshaft would’ve broke, whoever was driving the vehicle, whether it be me, or with my son in it, we would’ve wrecked and possibly died! the problem has been confirmed with a certified dealer! there is no warning signals. There was nothing and there is a recall on the same. There is a recall for the exact same problem as my car, and now they will not cover it because it doesn’t show up on the VIN! this is a very dangerous safety issue and chrys learning to address this as soon as possible! especially after one of their managers told me it would be paid for if I had a diagnosed with a certified dealer and now they’re saying they’re not paying for it.

Lcd display becomes delaminated, display settings won't stay set, jumps around, beeps non stop losing all saved settings; radio/siriusxm stations change randomly, climate control changes randomly(ac/heat and seat), navigation/ hands free communication lost, accesses my contacts and makes calls randomly, back up screen lost, all at the same time, very distracting being a safety hazard. Dysfunctional lcd remains, continues daily, is available for inspection and has been reproduced at the service center. Unfortunately the repair is very costly, therefore I must live with the distracted driving daily. I've reached out to uconnect and Chrysler customer care for support and no response.

23 Power Train problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/12/2022

Was on my way home from work and car completely lost power as I was preceding to go after stopping at a stop sign. I was literally in the middle of the road. Car wouldn't crank at all. Engine started overheating causing smoke to disburse from engine. No warning lights before this occurred. A big truck was coming down the road and I had to exist the vehicle. Luckily a car wasn't in the other lane so the truck went on the other side of the road. I was terrified! I called 911 to get a deputy dispatch to direct traffic around my car to avoid mutiple collision. I had to have my vehicle towed. I never want another Chrysler again these cars are unsafe. I could have died what if my child was in the car?! I took my car to a mechanic to put on computer scanner and it gave off seven codes all due to electrical issues! car is apparently stuck in limp mode idk I'm so confused and disappointed. I reported the issue to Chrysler recall line and they did nothing.

25 Power Train problem of the 2014 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 07/13/2022

The car will consistently slip from park to reverse when you try to exit the car. You have to push the shifter into park twice for it to remain in park. Very dangerous, as it will be in reverse if you are not careful exiting the car.

27 Power Train problem of the 2014 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 06/07/2022

28 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 04/01/2022

I started having problems with acceleration, I would go to pull out and the car would choke. When I put my car in reverse I would get an error message telling me to put my car in park and then desired gear. When I did that it would not go into reverse, I would have to shut my car off and then restart it. At time the check engine light would come on and then go off. I attempted to have it checked multiple times but when I got to the dealership it would be off again. I finally was able to get it to the dealer while it was on and was told I needed a new transmission and I would need to bring it in for a full diagnosis. I got it to a transmission shop shop and had the transmission replaced. When he ordered the transmission and installed it the transmission module was bad. I really feel due to the fact that a brand new transmission had a defective transmission module that the issue is that the model transmission in that car is defective.

29 Power Train problem of the 2020 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/01/2022

On March 1 2022 at 23,800 miles on odometer driving around curve the transmission shifter knob at console made grinding sound (like trying to change gears on moving cog). I noticed this on other curves and laid hand on knob and it was vibrating like trying to go in reverse/park? I parked car and got appointment with don franklin Chrysler somerset, ky where I purchased new one year ago. I left car with service department with verbal description and written description written on card and taped to passenger seat for technican that I thought car was trying to shift to park while traveling 50mph 04-27-2022. On 04-28-2022 I picked up car and was told fixed noise it was altenator. I drove out of parking lot and heard same noise as before, I took back and got service writter in car he observed noise and he said it will have to be checked by technician, I told him the miles had not changed 23,844 not test drove yet! he advided the car has computer saftey device that does not let it go to park when over 10mph go ahead and drive. I made appiontment for repair 6 weeks later (as soon as he could) also stating parts are sometimes months away. I had never used the auto park feature on this car, it is on all Chrysler cars for drivers that get out with car running and don't put in park? I paid 40,000 dollars for a car that I'm expected to wait approx 6 monthes for repair under warranty one year old! I took to independant shop and was advised junk yard parts was available but would void warrany and still could be computer causing not the gear mechanics. I sold this car at a 11,000 dollar loss. Problem is still on road meeting us in curve as we drive. Please investigate this dangerous saftey devise that appears to correct people that should not drive anyway! american made car american dealer and service department with 3rd world solutions. Manufacture, management of don franklin Chrysler all contacted, could care less about problem keep driving. Autopark causes rear tire lockup!.

The radio that controls the air and heat calls for help 911 and backs up cameral navigator to place go in and out it has a very bad electrical problem that shut the car down. It also calls 911 server times.

31 Power Train problem of the 2015 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 02/23/2022

5-26-21 my car was brought into Chrysler Jeep Dodge east hanover new jersey picked up the car on 07-16-21/a brand new transmission was installed. -now as January 2022-the brand new transmission that was installed is again gone bad- like the old one was in before new one installed. . . . . It is surging with a heriffic bump when you approach to slow down at aintersection, and can be felt on acceleration-not that I am blaming dealership but there is a problem with the transmissions that are accerted to fit vehicles that are 8 speed automatic transmissions -845re type. Inclosing invoice #chcs243489. . .

32 Power Train problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 09/02/2021

Reverse gear went out after vehicle slipped once, acted as if in neutral when in reverse and pressing gas pedal down but would not move. Had local towing and mechanic shop in gower missouri check transmission fluid level in which was found to be a quart low on transmission fluid. Car had been extremely well maintained and all recommended maintenance services completed by previous owners. Able to drive car in all other gears, codes p0007 code appear with no check engine light or any type of warning or indication that a problem was present within my 2005 Chrysler 300 3. 5l v6 rwd car with the 42rle transmission my vehicle also has issues occur suddenly regarding front end suspension has death shake and very loud clinking popping banging noises while driving at all speeds. Steering wheel has a weird squeek/creeking noise when turning the wheel at times and feels like steering is loose. Tie rod end and sway link bar on front passenger right side of vehicle is bent opposite direction it is supposed to and car also has higher rpm than normal and shifting at higher rpms. Went into limp mode twice which I reset myself due to having an emergency where I had to drive it. With the suspension and steering issues it causes a safety risk due to sway link and tie rod end breaking causing vehicle to crash and wheel to detach from vehicle. Transmission gear loss due to transmission fluid leaking and gear linkage issues causes safety risk due to the event of reversing to move out of the way and to avoid potential harm to passengers (my 5 young children) within the vehicle in the event the vehicle can't move from the place parked. The vehicle is available to be inspection and has been checked out by 3 different mechanic shops located in gower, saint joseph, and savannah missouri all in which stateed verbally that low fluid due to leak somewhere from transmission and poor linkage components within gear solenoid and possible pcm and mil issues to be at fault of vehicle mufacture.

33 Power Train problem of the 2015 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 09/01/2021

1. Rear differential failed before 100,000 miles. I was driving and I heard something metal fall in the back of the car. I pressed gas but was not able to move. After inspection and call for help, the part that fell on the ground was the rear differential. How can it just fall out while driving? I had to get it towed and repaired by a mobile mechanic. 2. The sunroof switch is faulty. Several times it has gotten stuck and won’t close. If it starts to rain, I have to pull over on the highway, cut the car off and on a few times and press the button until it closes. The sunroof will move forward like it’s going to close but doesn’t; it moves back and forth like it’s stuck on something. 3. The shifter is incredibly rough and hard. It sounds like something falling out of the car every time I shift from park to reverse and back to park. Very loud and the entire car jerks when shifting. There was a previous recall but the problem still persists. I’m afraid something else will fall out while driving.
