2 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem of the 2009 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 12/26/2015

I have a year with my vehicle and it hasn't gave me any problems until now that the automatic transmission fluid needs to get drained. The gears wont shift correctly. Rpm¿s feel as though they are not rising proportionally to throttle input. Throttle response feels dead in certain instances. Sometimes the car will chirp/spin the tires off the line and the rpm¿s rise quickly, other times you can floor the car off the line and get absolutely nothing. General sluggishness in acceleration -significantly increased drop in rpm between shifts. So I looked it up and I found this article on 300 cars that from the makes 06-10 with rwd models the  42rle transmission uses ¿emcc¿.  the way it is programmed to operate in this 4 speed transmission causes serious drivability issues a torque converterclutch in an automatic transmission will lock/unlock at certain speeds, but the torque converter clutch in the 42rle does not operate as Chrysler describes it in the owner¿s manual. There is alot more people with that same problem so please try to give ower recall complain a look. I love the Chrysler 300 series and would hate to keep going through this on a beautiful car.

5 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 10/15/2010

Extreme shudder and vibration while car is in drive. When you manually go through the gears at high rpm the problem isn't as bad. But at regular driving speeds the problem is very apparent. It was diagnosed as a bad torque converter from a aamco transmission shop. I had the original torque converter replaced with a genuine daimler Chrysler mercedes part. The problem went away for 3 months and now its back. The warranty for the part was for only 90 days so I can't even get warranty work on the part. I believe that the torque converters are defective. It cost me $1600 to have it replaced originally. I don't have another $1600. 00 to have it done again.

6 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/15/2008

I bought my Chrysler 300 brand new from dealer in August 2007. My first new car. The automatic transmission and torque converter are the problem. From day one there is intermittant ":clunking" when it shifts. Park to reverse. Drive to park. But the scary one is when I'm driving, a few times a week, sometimes more than a few times a day it jumps, really lurches. Enough that at 40 mph, your head gets a good jolt. I've taken it to dealer three times. They replaced the torque converter about a year ago. Was better for a while, now getting worse so it happens every time I drive, city and highway. Basically, they can't fix the problem. They said because it's intermittant. So I had them keep it and drive home themselves. But it happened only once to them. Well, I have the extended warranty. But I wish they would at least give me something back for paying full price for a defected car. They should have given me another car the first time I brought it in.
