37 Power Train problem of the 2014 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 02/15/2021

It was noticed that the vehicle was suddenly leaking oil as in a quart on the pavement where I had parked. Took it to a service center and the oil filter housing cooler is cracked. He advised to not drive it as the oil is pouring down the top of the motor and could cause a fire or other electrical problems. Upon trying to order the part, it would seem that a lot of other people are having the same issue. The manager at our service center was told it was on backorder. 30,000 was the number he was told of this exact part that other people were also trying to get. The vehicle smelled of burning oil and was smoking when it was last driven. I am on week 2 of not have a vehicle and am looking at the very least another 5 weeks, before the part could possible arrive. If this many people are having the same problem why is not a recall.

38 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 11/27/2020

I have found that going at lower speeds, like accelerating from stop, or driving thru a parking lot, the transmission jolts the entire car. Like it is slipping in and out of gear. It also seems to shift really hard in to second gear, not all the time but is just getting worse. The vehicle only has 26000 miles on it and has been serviced at the correct intervals. Also electrical issues with passenger side window motor, it does not want to roll up. This has happened 4 or 5 times in the last 2 weeks. Usb hook up for our phone does not recognize the device, after changing to a different port, still the same result.

40 Power Train problem of the 2014 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 11/11/2020

My car has been at the first dealership (brewbaker Dodge, montgomery, ala. ) on November 11, 2020. I got the car back March of 2021. The problem of misfires on cylinder 1 side, hesitation when proceeding from a red light, and stalling out. The problem continued so; I took it to another dealership (stiver Dodge, prattville, ala. ) in August 2021. I was given the car back in February 2022 stating to me that the problem may correct itself after being driven until after my birthday (March 2022). So, to this date my car is still at the dealership and Chrysler star team has no clue what is wrong with this car. I'm still paying a car note, insurance, and renewing the license plate for this car every year and moth. Chrysler knows that there is an issue with the 3. 6l pentastar engine. No one wants to help me in this situation, but all parties involved wants my money but no real solution(s). I need someone that's going to advocate for me on my behalf. I just want Chrysler at this point to just put a new engine in the dang car and cover the charges at their expense for their defective engine. Chrysler seriously knows what's going. As long as my car has been at this dealership for over a year, how could the engineers who designed this engine not know what's wrong with? this car has very low miles to be 8yrs old with major issue. And fca doesn't want to admit to this engine (3. 6l pentastar) being a defective engine. Look at the class action lawsuits pertaining to this. Please sir / MA'am help me make sense of this. Thank you.

55 Power Train problem of the 2014 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 12/01/2019

I have a 2014 Chrysler 300 base, with awd. I have 73,000 miles on the car. I've always had the service kept up. So, I was have a rough noise as I would go over 50 mph and it would be like a growling noise. It sounded like a front wheel bearing. I took the car into the dealer and they said it was the front right wheel bearing. The warranty had ended at 70,000 miles for the drivetrain and so I put it on myself. I put a brand new hub on and still had the noise. I took the car into another garage and they thought it was the rear drive line. They replaced it and still making the noise. So, they then said it was the front drive line. I had them do it and finally. This was the fix. I looked online and watched videos and was never anything saying a drive line. I just feel that it's so unfortunate that at 3,000 miles over and I'm stuck paying over a thousand dollars, to replace a part of the drivetrain. What I worry about, is that both axles were actually no good. It's just the one was making the noise. What if I kept driving and one locked up. That's scary and could become life threatening. I truly hope you can review my message and find out why this happened and is a possible recall. I would hate for them to freeze up on someone and ends up injuring or worse, fatally injuring someone or even an entire family. Thank you!.

56 Power Train problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

I was traveling down a busy street in atlanta. I came to a stop sign and when I tried to continue through the intersection, the car would not move. The engine was reeving up high but the car was not moving. It also would not let me put the car in park. I had to turn the car off and after a few minutes I was able to restart the car and continue on my trip. This has happened multiple times.

57 Power Train problem of the 2013 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 11/24/2019

My 18 year old son was driving the car at about 40-50 miles an hour on a very busy street in bellevue washington, a city he's not familiar with when the car suddenly shifted into park and would no longer accelerate. He had to think quickly and by the grace of god he was able to momentarily get the car in drive and pull over into a driveway. Once stopped the car would not shift into any other gear, it would revert back to park regardless of what gear you shifted it into. We tried to shift it into drive and it reverted back to park. This is the second very serious situation I've had with this car. The fuse happens over a year ago when the car just stopped running in the middle of driving. I almost got hit by a bus but luckily I was also able to think quick nd turn into a urgent care parking lot. It was a faulty alternator that was a part of a recall. I am very scared to drive this car and do not want my so. To ever drive it. It's supposed to be a second car for him to drive but its unsafe. I want Chrysler to pay me out of my loan as I never want to drive this car again and I still owe $15,000 on this car.

60 Power Train problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 10/20/2019

While getting on the freeway, at approx. 50 mph the car would not shift into next gear. Rpm was 4500-5000 (as though possibly stuck in overdrive). I decelerated hoping it would compute the need to shift. It didn't. I tried accelerating slowly and still didnt shift. I slowed down, put emergency flashers on and took the next exit 1/4 mile or less away. Since the light was red at the exit , I tried putting car into park and then back into drive to see if it would (reset), instead the shift selector was stuck in park. Light turned green and I couldn't get it in drive, couldn't move. After several attempts it finally went into drive. When I got off work, same thing. . . Stuck in park. After 4th try, I was able to get it in reverse, then into drive. I made it home without getting on freeway, parked the car 3 days ago and have not driven it since then. The car was already scheduled for recall repairs at dealership for tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it there. (I bought this car a week ago).

65 Power Train problem of the 2014 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/30/2019

8/30 put the car in park and stepped out. The car goes rolling backwards down the street with my daughter in it screaming bloody murder. Luckily my driver door was open. It caught my neighbors car and jarred my door backwards forcing the car to veer to the left avoiding a street where cars fly up and down frequently. (savannah was feet away from either going into traffic or into the back of someone's house. We are extremely lucky nothing happened other than damages to a couple of vehicles). My car door doesn't shut properly and is unsafe to drive. I find out this is the same shifter that has allegedly been tied to a famous man's death and hundreds of other accidents. Verified with fca my car was defected.

67 Power Train problem of the 2016 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/14/2019

After the recall of July 2019 to address issue with rotary shifter, I started having issue with reverse not engaging, takes several attempts by turning car off, etc to get it to go into reverse. Has been to dealer 4 times, no check engine light or codes, said that there was nothing that they could do. I called Chrysler customer service and filed a complaint. They contacted the dealer and were told that they could not find any problem. Chrysler ask that I take the car to the dealer and leave it until it locked up on them. The problem is intermittent, sometimes several days, they would not provide a loaner and we cannot afford a rental for what could be days to weeks, so Chrysler closed the case because we would not cooperate.

I attempted to reverse and or put the gear in drive several times only to receive the same message. I tried turning the car off multiple times and I still had the same result.
