My 2005 Chrysler 300 has been having an issue with the fuel tank. When you get fuel in it then it won’t stay started. It keeps stalling out repeatedly. It also stalls out randomly under 25mph. Both are dangerous as it may cause you to get t-boned leaving gas station as it repeatedly stalls. Also it stalled out on the freeway on-ramp under 25mph. This is also dangerous as you lose your steering at the same time. Someone could have been injured or killed. And Chrysler needs to take this more seriously than they did just with the 2005 300c. It’s happening to more models of that year as well. Their offered remedy was telling me not to fuel it all the way up anymore past 3/4 of a tank. A dealership confirmed it needs a full fuel tank replacement and has had it since memorial day. They still have it currently. Chrysler told me and the dealership I’m on my own after treating me horribly most of the time on the phone calls with customer care center as I was jumping through hoops for them over and over for around 2 months. Whenever I get someone kind and helpful they won’t let me speak to them again. I have this all written down. And will get the estimate when I get my car back. But I don’t have $2800 ($2000 alone is just the fuel tank) to fix this on my own. Especially not when there is a known issue. Fuel tanks just don’t break and need full replacement as a common issue in vehicles. But Chrysler says my vehicle is too old. Which they knew the year of my vehicle when I called in the first place. And they know there is a known issue which is why they have lifetime fuel tank replacements on others of the same year. It’s too bad they weren’t pushed to do a total recall rather than just a safety bulletin. It left the rest of us that end up having issues with the fuel tanks in danger. It’s not just coincidental. It’s been acting up for awhile and I couldn’t find anyone that had ever heard of this until the Chrysler forums. It got worse in 2020 to present. Thank you.

Car stalled while driving and one time after refiring the engine, the shifting of gears was awkward. Dealer changed oil pressure sensor. Did not help.

Everytime. I feel my Chrysler 300 up. It shuts off ,stalls for about 10 minutes. Then everything is normal. Note. This is very dangerous could be just driving and it'll just shut off. Can you cause an accident? this is happening to me at least six to eight times so far beginning in January.
Tl- the contact's wife owns a 2011 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at a low rate of speed, the steering wheel became stiff and hard to steer without warning. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective power steering module; the part was replaced. Despite the vehicle being repaired, the failure persisted. . The contact's wife also stated that the check engine light had illuminated on the vehicle and that upon inspection, the oil appeared to be in good standing. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who informed him that an engine gasket and an engine oil cooler needed to be replaced. The contact's wife notified the manufacturer of the failure who had referred her to a local dealer to have the vehicle diagnosed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 130,220. I was driving slowly, under 10 miles per hour, when it just up and died on me. Tried to restart, but would not. Let it sit for 5 minutes, pushed the gas pedal and held it half way down and vehicle started. But would not idle. Tried to hold pedal and put it in drive. To limp it home, but died when engaging drive. Long story short, it wont start or run unless you give it gas, will not idle in park, neutral, reverse or drive, and there have been hundreds of complaints for this. That being said, I'm assuming someone has to die in an accident, maybe several lives lost before you decide to take this seriously. You people do realize what happens when an engine stalls while driving yes? loss of brakes for the most part, power steering, acceleration, the list goes on. . . Now put someone behind the wheel that doesn't know how to react. But I guess y'all missed that portion of the class, or you just dont give a shit.
Car shut off while driiving 30mph also with full will jerk and stall.
I have three Chrysler, Dodge cars and all three of them are having the same problem. Catalytic converter is messing up on three of them at the same time. One of them is a 2011 Chrysler 300 with only 80,000 miles, 2010 Dodge nitro truck with over 100,000 miles and a 2012 Dodge avenger over 100,000 miles. I feel that Dodge Chrysler Jeep should have this as one of the recalls. The 2010 Dodge nitro truck my daughter was driving just cut off on her on the freeway when she stopped in traffic. And the 2012 Dodge avenger is sitting up in my drive way not being driven because of its so expensive to get them repaired. My 2011 Chrysler 300 and 2010 Dodge nitro truck is going in the shop to get the repairs done, but I feel Dodge, Chrysler Jeep should be eating up the cost for these repairs. The Dodge truck stopped on her oct 15th on the freeway, during traffic hours.
I brought a 2019 Chrysler 300 in July 2019, in September 2019 my wife was backing out of the driveway, she said the car suddenly accelerated without warning. She stated that she pressed the brake and it didn't stop the car. It continued to accelerate until it finally stopped after going up an incline into the neighbor's yard and hit a tree.

Vehicle intermittently stalls when slowing for a stop or accelerating after a stop or slowing down to turn a corner. Has happened 4 times after being fixed by dealer. Did meet with service director but have not had any response. No power when it happens. . All instances are on city paved streets. Restarts on first try. Check fuel light comes on but check engine light does not. Dealer has worked on it 3 times and replaced parts but it has not fixed the problem. They really have no idea what is going on.
Heavy gas smell upon fill-up. Seems to be inside vehicle.
Purchased 2008 Chrysler 300c about a month ago. Interior has odor of gasoline. I googled and read about the issue. Seems it is not uncommon and some folks have found cracked pump or a need for replacing the seal of pump. I don't see any fuel sitting on top when I pull up the rear seat. Usually smell after car sits for awhile then seems to dissipate while driving. . Could it be something else in engine? this is an everyday occurrence with the odor.

After first recall with alternate all electronic systems started to fail suspension was going bad.
After filling up with gas, the car sometimes stalls at slow speeds or low rpm until a gallon or so of gas is used up, the cause is supposed to be the fuel vapor recovery system malfunctioning.
Electronic throttle control blinking and car has no power. I was on the highway and it would not go when giving it some gas. The pedal was to the floor.

Stalls after getting fuel both stationary and in motion 109000 miles.
Check engine liight came on. The code says gas lid not sealing. To open and shut again if that doesn't work the gas sealer needs repaired.
Car stall when full.
Very strong fuel smell what looks like may be a gasket under rear seat in vehicle. . . Smell is even stronger after filling up, and when making hard stops. There is no gasoline seen leaking from under car at this time. Concerned about fire hazard. Heard others have had similar problems. This could also be a very significant fire concern as the fumes are very strong in garage with vehicle parked, and could be a problem when gas appliances or water heaters come in proximity to vehicle.
Stationary in parking lot would not start car would not start.
Chronic odor of raw fue both within and around the vehicle . . Difficult to isolate. When the vehicle is in an enclosed space the fumes are overpowering and extremely flammable. I have been able to identify the source to a connector on the fuel line. . This is clearly a poor engineering design which, while expedient in manufacturing is hazardous to owners as fuel is expelled onto the adjacent exhaust system.
April 23 my battery caught on fire in blow my whole car up fire marshal told me electrical problems.

Tl - the contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that when driving 30 mph the vehicle seized and that it started intermittently and no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken a dealer mckinney Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram( 4574 calhoun memorial hwy, easily, SC 29640. 864-810-6594) who diagnosed it but there was nothing found and the vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated her vehicle exhibited the same symptoms as NHTSA campaign number: 13v043000 (fuel system, gasoline) the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000. Jc.
My Chrysler dealer is slow in dealing with two recalls. One year waiting for air bag recall solution and now I'm told "no parts" for emission canister recall. Why the delay at this terrible service center?.

After filling the gas the car will sputter and stall. I always use 91-93 octane fuel from the kroger fuel stations, and when leaving the last few times I've had problems getting up to speed without the car getting to speed or stalling. It will restart normally pretty easily other than yesterday when my wife was driving it, it kept stalling coming home, she parked it, and the next morning it refused to start. It took a while but after starting and running it a bit, it's running fine. Vehicle was recently in for checkup at 78900 miles (80k checkup) and has just over 80k on it now. I'm an adult disabled driver, it gets driven just not far at any given time.
Fuel vapor in cabin.
Vehicle shuts off while driving in traffic without any warning. No indicators appear on the dashboard. This occurs in the morning after starting the car and driving less than one half mile. When I come to a light or stop sign the vehicle shuts off.
Power loss after re-feeling car turned off.
Since fueling there is a strong smell of gas inside vehicle and near passenger rear wheel well after vehicle sits. There is no sign of leaking anywhere. Found a large number of similar complaints, but no solutions online.
Pumping gas at the service station and a passerby told me my car was leaking gasoline this is while I was pumping it. I immediately stop and drove the care home. I going to contact the dealer. Just want to know are there any report of this type entered? car was in park at the gas station.
Tipm is bad casing a no start issue and the car will periodically stall and not restart leaving you stranded in the middle of the road.
Strong gas/fuel smells inside the vehicle. Took the vehicle in for work, midas said it was the fuel vapor storage canister it would cost $400 to repair. This is after spending $1700 on a rebuilt transmission and $600 on a trans and engine mount from driving slowly over a speed bump at mgm grand and $600 to replace the broken fan and radiator.
For the year every time I fill my car up with gas there is an overwhelming fuel smell inside and outside of the car. The smell is so bad that we roll the windows down in order to breath for at least 4days. It is now 115 degrees outside and if the air is on, my kids and I get nauseous. I took it into 2 different mechanics and they can't seem to locate the problem. The vehicle smell is evident being stationary and moving.
When we fill up our Chrysler 2011 300 we can smell gas on the inside and on the outside of car.
Car completely shuts down on us. No hesitation, no warning just completely shuts off while driving, park, reverse or at standstill! have taken it to mechanics and to Chrysler 3 times and the can not figure out why it's shutting down! this happens several times daily.
