Took to another dealership in palestine texas told them vehicle was shutting off while driving and fuel tank was replaced by another dealership in tyler texas. They could not figure out what was wrong , they said it was ok to drive until they receive a response from Chrysler (a star case)or something like that. They said there was no response from Chrysler until one day ii went to start the car and it didn't start. I called dealership in palestine dealership,had it towed to them. 16 miles later and 15 days later,I was told I needed complete motor. Metal pieces in intake and 2valve seats had dropped. Later on 11/20/2015 had the head took off to confirm damages to the head and valves. Also on 12/19/2014 when vehicle towed in,they started the vehicle and was accelerating the car I was right there in the waiting room,thinking it's fixed,then come tell me I need a motor .

I drove my 2006 Chrysler 300c hemi with my soon to be wife and 4 year old daughter to go food shopping and was low on gas after shopping I filled the tank up at a chevron station and as I tried to pull out of the station it died. It tool 3 tries and it started again then on the freeway as I was changing lanes it died again in the middle of traffic and I was scared to death for the safety of my fiance and small child I coasted to a stop in the middle lane because I couldn't get over either way with cars behind me honking I calmly tried to start the car and on the 3rd try it started and got us back to martinez. It died twice more at stop signs and a light. Very dangerious. I bought the car a week ago because my fiancé is 6 months pregnant. And I wanted her to have a 4 door to make it easy on her with the kids.
On the first of July I was preparing for a trip and stop at a gas station to fill up. On my way home from the gas station my car stalled while going down the road. I lost power steering, brakes, etc, and was lucky that I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop safely and get the vehicle home, stalling several more times. I looked on the internet to see if I could determine what had gone wrong and I found that there is a defect with the gas tank on my vehicle and that due to an agreement with the fed gov and Chrysler. It was determined that Chrysler was going to extend the warranties on this gas tank to replace the defective ones without a recall. I contacted my local Chrysler dealer and they ordered the parts and told me it would be approximately 2 weeks before a repair could take place. Two weeks later I contacted the dealer and was told that the parts were on back order. I wrote an email to Chrysler asking for clarification and I was told the following "according to our records your vehicle was included in the x53 19 gallon fuel tank extended warranty. Unfortunately at this time the parts to perform the x53 repair are currently on a restriction with the dealerships having access to order 1 part every 14 days for the one repair and 1 part every 7 days for the other repair. At this time we recommend continuing to work with your dealership to have this repair completed. " I has now been 4 weeks and I still to not have this vehicle repaired. This response is unacceptable to me and is a safety concern to me and I think for other drivers who have the same issue!! I ask the NHTSA relook this issue an address Chrysler to expedite replacement of the defective tanks before someone gets injured.
My 2006 Chrysler 300c is burning a lot of gas. I don't know why,maybe because it is a hemi. When my gas hand get to a mark are two before empty, you can smell the fuel from the tank. My complain is why are Chrysler 300 burning so much gas?.
Very soon after purchasing the 2006 Chrysler 300c (used), it began shutting off while driving. Obviously this is incredibly dangerous. After "googling" is seems people all over with this vehicle have had similar problems, an some were attributing this to filing up the gas tank. We took due caution not to fill up the tank (how ridiculous is this?) and the problem has continued. An extended warranty was purchased from the Ford dealership we purchased at. After the run around about who actually "fixes" the car, it was taken to a Chrysler dealership who charged us $400. 00 for a battery and then replaced some wiring harness which did nothing. We are back at it with the dealership. I see an article in the la times on the internet saying to take the vehicle back to the dealership. That's not helping. The 300 had a recall on the fuel tank, which was replaced January 2015 by tate in frederick MD. Since then the stalling issue has gotten worse. I took the car to tate 4 times, and was told 4 different diagnostics. 1= transmittion, 2= battery, 3=plugs & coils, 4=canister for extra fuel. I replaced the spark plugs & coils. Which didnt correct the issue. I took it to a 2nd dealer. Darcar's in rockville MD and they are now telling me that its the transmition control moduel & power control moduel. My car no matter if there is a full tank or a 1/4 of tank stalls when I am at idle. It can stall once or the max is 9 times. I have a 1 1/2 year old & 5 year old which is a safety issue. I found this forum, which are other people having the same issue & different dealers are throwing different parts. I dont think the replacement of the fuel tank corrected this true issue. Can you please help me with discovering the true cause and making the cars safe for the drivers and passengars?.
The vehicle keeps stalling and it seems directly related to when I fill up the vehicle with gas. I have a 19 gallon fuel tank. Every time a fill the vehicle, it continues to stall (even at 60 mph) until the gas starts to empty out of the tank. As the gas empties, it stalls less and less. As soon as I refill, the problem starts all over again. I heard this year of vehicle is having issues with the fuel tank multifunctional control valve, which seems to exactly correlate with the issue that I am having. I just purchased this vehicle from a used auto dealer.

In may 2013, the NHTSA began an investigation (pe13-016) into numerous complaints about engine stalling in 2006 Chrysler vehicles equipped with 5. 7l 8-cylinder engines. In February 2014, Chrysler announced that it had developed improved parts to address this problem, and would extend the warranty period on 19-gallon fuel tanks to lifetime coverage for the 153,817 affected vehicles. In February 2014 the NHTSA accepted this solution proposed by Chrysler and closed the investigation. Chrysler sent me an email on March 13,2014 informing me, without explanation, that they would not honor their agreement with the NHTSA, and would not provide a lifetime warranty for my 2006 Chrysler 300c fuel tank,.

Looks like Chrysler is finally honoring its agreement reported by NHTSA (pe13-016) in February 2014.
Pe-13-016 covering 2006 Chrysler 300c vehicles with 5. 7 l hemi engines that may stall after refueling I spoke today by phone with "scott", a supervisor with Chrysler customer assistance (1-800-992-1997 and 1-905-440-7694). He told me that contrary to the announcement in odi resume (pe13-016), Chrysler did not begin mailing letters in January 2014 to the 153,817 owners of affected vehicles extending the warranty period on 19-gallon fuel tanks to lifetime coverage, he told me that the mailing (inot-pe130016-58863. Pdf) would in fact begin in April 2014. Owners of the 153,817 affected vehicles should look to receive this letter in April 2014.
Exactly like the situations described in the NHTSA investigation (pe13-016), my 2006 Chrysler 300c 5. 7l engine has stalled at low speeds on numerous occasions after refueling. My local dealer¿¿s service department informed me that my VIN is not included in the ¿¿select¿� vehicles that have been given extended warranties by Chrysler group llc in response to pe13-016. In order to correct the problem with my vehicle, the entire gas tank needs to be replaced. I contacted Chrysler customer service and they also informed me that there is no extended warranty on the fuel tank of my vehicle because it was manufactured in a different plant than the vehicles identified with pe13-016. Clearly there is an malfunction with the multifunction control valve (mfcv) fuel shutoff float at more than one manufacturing location. Although the NHTSA investigation determined that it is not a safety issue, the last time I refueled and pulled onto the street, the engine stalled and I was nearly involved in an accident. It stalled 2 more times during the same incident before it would drive more than a short distance. It is just a matter of time before there is an injury or fatality due to this malfunction. The car is not driveable if I am unable to refuel and drive without the risk of injury to myself or others.

The car will stall every time after I fill up the gas. Yesterday I went to fill up the tank ( not all the way full ), after I drove about 1 block, the car stalled. I had to drive about 10 miles back home and the car stalled 8 times already. It was very scary because I don't know when the car will die on me when I'm on the road and cars are behind me and just very afraid of someone is going to struck me from behind when my car die on me suddenly.
After refueling, I was driving north in I-35 at 65 mph and the engine completely died in the middle of heavy traffic. Fortunately, I know a bit about cars and got it to restart before I dropped below 50 mph. However, there were heavy trucks in the dense traffic and had one been directly behind me I do not think I would be here to write this complaint today. I have delayed this complaint as I did not know the nature of my problem until yesterday. After the third fill up and the same problem happened, I figured it out and went to the dealer for a fix. They told me the problem and said there was no recall and that the cure was to replace the gas tank. I have an appointment for next Tuesday to get this work done as I feel the vehicle is unsafe to drive in traffic.
After fueling up my Chrysler 300c, my car stalled and completely shut down (approximately 2 miles after fill up). Luckily, I was in the parking lot of my work at the time, so I was only going 5-10 mph. Unfortunately, the power steering completely froze and I was unable to park the car, so the car was resting in the right-of-way of other cars driving in the lot. Also, I came two inches from hitting a tree since I could not steer the car away from any objects in my path. Thank goodness the breaks still worked. I was unable to restart the car for a few minutes. After approx. 10 minutes of resting the car in the middle of the parking lot, the car restarted with a "pop" noise. Once we got the car started, I was able to park it in a safe spot. I am now afraid to drive my car, especially in traffic or on the freeway at higher rates of speed. I am a single mom with two young kids and it really has me freaked out to think that we could be involved in an accident should this happen again. Obviously, the safety of my children, myself and any other innocent person on the road has me concerned. I'm the original owner, and I never topped off the tank. Please recall the fuel tank on these cars as they are not safe. Also, please include the 2005 year in your investigation.
For several weeks every time I filled my gas tank the car stalled. I would start it and it would stall again. Several times I was almost rear ended getting on the freeway when my car dead stopped also at intersections. Every time I stopped the car at a light after fill up car would stop. I was afraid to drive the car as I feared I would be killed or severely injured. I took the car to the Chrysler dealer Jan 14, 2014. They replaced the fuel tank, evap canaster and vent valve at a cost of $1740. 22. I asked if this condition was under warrenty they said no. I understand the warranty has been extended on the fuel tanks as per pe 13-016. I contacted Chrysler they said they did not know anything about an extended warrenty. Chrysler is not honoring their obligation to repair this very dangerous condition. I want to be sure my VIN# is included in this warrenty as I will seek reimbursement for this repair.
Since November 2013, each time I fill up my 2005 Chrysler 300c, it stalls for the first 5--20 minutes after the fill up. In December 2013, I brought it to my Chrysler dealership (which has worked on the car since 2006), and it said my car needed an evap canister and a solenoid. The parts were ordered and the installation/replacement work was done on December 6, 2013. This did not fix the problem. The car still stalls, starting right as I pull out from the gas station. The most disconcerting thing is that when the engine stalls, and you are steering into a corner, the power steering is gone. This makes steering very difficult and is very dangerous, particularly on the two-lane roads I mostly travel. I am now thinking it may be that there is some water in the gasoline tank or gasoline line. I sense the electronics in the engine calling for gas (or not accepting gas) when there is something bad in the gasoline line. Not sure how there is water in the tank, as the car since being purchased new is garaged when at home and at work and well cared for otherwise. I just read this evening on the web that Chrysler is aware of the problem and has known since at least may of 2013. This is very disconcerting; the dealership mentioned nothing about this known problem to me. And so I had this work done needlessly, at my expense and for no successful result. The dealership should have acknowledged the recall to me when I first brought the car in with this issue. It was suggested I might need to replace the gas tank. Has Chrysler figured out what the problem is? did this in turn result in a recall? can I ask the dealership for my money back? any suggestions on how this can be fixed?.

After fueling vehicle (full tank) I drove about 1/4 mile from the gas station while turning the vehicle turned completely off while I was in a turn causing me drive up on a curb and almost striking a pedestrian. Took about 10 minutes to get my vehicle back started and about another 1/4 mile down the road it stalled again this time making me go through an intersection because the brake pedal got hard. I ended up getting it home and it sat over night. Next morning took it out, no problem except when I was leaving a store it stalled again. I thought it was a fuel issue, fuel pressure checked ok. I drained the gas in the tank and refueled from another station same problem. Seems to happen only when I completely fill up but not 100% of the time. No check engine light or body codes were detected on the car's computer.
I purchased this 2005 Chrysler 300c on November 20, 2013 from hoover Chrysler dealership and ever since then the car has been stalling out every time I get gas and I do not over fill my tank but do fill it up to almost full. Anyways this problem can cause serious injuries I've had it stall out on the highway and all going at high speeds. I can't believe that this car is doing this I traded my 2010 Dodge charger sxt which wasn't the hemi for a hemi and feel like I got a worst engine. Anyways I really hope this problem is fixed by Chrysler I've spent alot on repairs and this isn't fair that the buyer has to deal with this type of problem I've owned plenty of cars and never have had this happen so obviously Chrysler is responsible!.
My family and I were travelling on the interstate after a complete fill up of gas from the gas station, as I was proceeding onto the ramp of the interstate my car stalled and continued to die right as I was turning onto the interstate in the right lane and had a near miss from a semi truck. My families life was in the hands of a car that I thought I trusted and lead to believe was safe in every way. Little did I know that the gas tanks on these cars can not handle a upwards of 3/4 tank of gas or more. Now I am scared to death to fill this cars gas tank past the half mark and have to stop frequently as I travel for my job. Right after gassing up, my car stalled at a red light. Restart, stall again while rolling (losing power steering and power brakes. ) restart and drive with heavy throttle to next red light, where car stalled again. I filled up my tank at the bp service station on rt. 17 paramus, NJ and the car stalled entering the highway, (rt. 17 south) stalled three more times on the highway, had to pull into a shopping center to get it to idle. Stalled at the intersection on linwood avenue and paramus road, paramus NJ and barely made it home to franklin turnpike in ridgewood, NJ. I had to burn off a few gallons of gas at idle and high idle to get the car to normalize at idle and make it road worthy and safe to drive.

I completely filled up my gas tank (not just a top off) Friday afternoon. After driving a few miles, while in the turning lane and crossing traffic my car shut itself off. The steering wheel locked up and I was unable to steer to safety. I had to put the car in neutral and "coast" to the side. Luckily I was turning at the turning light and there wasn't heavy traffic. This was very dangerous and scared me! I tried to start my car and was unable to do so. It wouldn't "turn over" the first time. The second time trying to start it, it didn't seem like it would stat and then finally started. The only light that came on (after the car shut itself off) was the oil light. My oil is completely full. It was just changed a month ago using synthetic oil. I had a mechanic look at it and was told that there was nothing wrong with it.
This problem only after fill the gas tank. After pulling away from the pump and pulling into traffic the car died and won't start until you put in park. This happens until some of the fuel has been used up. I would have it happen make it home. Then the next time I drive it the car will die until its been driven enough to use up some fuel. This dangerous because it happen as you slow down or start up. I have had it die while turning and lose all controls because it dies! the only way to combat this is to not fill the tank. That works if I drive the car but my family members forget that and have lost control also! this has been going on for 3 years! dangerous.
The car repeatedly stalls after a fill up. This will repeat itself several times during the first few miles before it stops. If I don't fill the tank all the way up it will not stall. This has caused a couple close calls (turning in front of oncoming traffic) and short, temporary traffic delay while I restart.
We filled up the tank, not topping off, and headed home. The car was running smoothly, hesitated and stalled. No engine warning indicators, etc. It also stalled setting at a red light and at various other speeds. This has occurred again after every fill up since. If you put in park it will start right back up. Chrysler does not acknowledge or deny a problem when contacted. I was told to get a diagnostic and call them back. One service rep, at the dealership, acknowledge a couple of others having this problem the car is currently there and they are trying to recreate the problem. We keep our vehicles services, so that is not a problem.
We purchased our 2005 Chrysler 300c on may 24, 2013 with 49,755 miles on vehicle. We picked up vehicle on may 25th from dealer and went to gas station to fill up gas tank. Upon leaving the gas station the car stalled and lost all power. Tried to restart vehicle and after two times it started again but still chugged and wouldn't pick up speed. This continued to happen until after the car was driven for about 10 miles. This did not happen again right away and after reading owners manual we just thought maybe it had been sitting long at dealer or something. On June 17th we again had to fill up the gas tank and upon doing so the same thing happened with the stalling, chugging and just not running correctly. While turning left the car stalled again and I had a very hard time restarting. In the mean while other cars were coming at me from both behind me and in front of me. This really scared me so I called a local Chrysler dealership and was told that they had no idea what it could be and we should bring it in. At that point I decided to look on internet to check for recalls and ended up finding the numerous complaints from people having the exact same issue with their 2005 Chrysler 300c as we have. The only way to solve this very dangerous problem is to either not fill the tank all the way or have a new tank installed at a cost of anywhere from $1500. 00 all the way up to $2500. 00 which is ridiculous considering this really seems to be a manufacturing defect on Chrysler's part. Is it going to take a serious accident possibly leading in a death for Chrysler to act on this problem? this is a very dangerous issue and will eventually cause a fatal accident.
Hi, when fueling the 2005 Chrysler 300c to full, the car will drive and stall randomly. It's unpredictable and happens each time you fill the tank. It's repetitive and can be duplicated always. It's certainly very hazardous to drive, and I have almost been hit twice trying to enter the roadway when it stalls, and it takes a min to actually get it started again if it actually does start. This has been happening since around the 50k mile mark. This needs your immediate attention, and quite many 300c owners have this same very problem.

Every time after refueling the vehicle to a full tank of fuel vehicle stalls and sometimes several tries before it restarts. Once the fuel tank level goes down about a gallon, the problem stops. This always occurs after refueling to a full tank of fuel. If I fill to about 3/4 tank the car can stall but not always. The only known fix to work all the time is a new gas tank for $1500 to install.
