Power Train Problems of Chrysler 300M

The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, the contact stated the vehicle's battery dropped to the ground while driving which caused the lost of power steering that later lead to the vehicle crashed into a sewage area. Vehicle goes into "limp mode" daily. Seems mostly to occur once coasting or slowing on a off ramp from highway speeds. Can put car in neutral then turn off & restart which seems to reset "limp mode" until speed decreases to roughly 20 - 30 mph. There seems to be multiple other drivers with this car that have the same issue, yet no response from Chrysler.

Was traveling in third gear when the transmission downshifted to second gear independently. Transmission locks in 2nd gear (limp mode) when slowing or stopping vehicle. Once you turn the car off and back on again, you can drive with normal gears. However, once you hit 50-60 mph, the transmission automatically goes into limp mode and stays locked in second gear. Check engine light came on and it now reads the codes p1776.

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Chrysler 300m. While driving approximately 35 mph, the rpm reading suddenly increased independently. The contact stopped the vehicle on the shoulder and turned the engine off. After restarting the vehicle, the failure ceased. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000. Transmission shifter cable malfunction,tranny stuck in auto shift mode. No warning light on but shifter free shifts cannot put in park. Turned car off will not start, the word done pops up on dash. Researched online same problems with other 300m model years from 1999 to 2004.

The gear shift stick beginning sticking, making it hard to change gears. I had gotten the gear in reverse to back out of my yard but when I tried to put it in drive the entire gear stick broke apart. I was in the road with traffic coming from both directions unable to move. The car had to be towed to repair shop where the entire gear components had to be replaced.

My steering has a life of its own. Steering pulls hard to the right, almost hit a public bus. I've had 2 alignments and brand new tires, the problem still exist. The front end make a clunking noise and vibrates really badly. I've taken it to a Chrysler dealership and got the same response as other have with the same problem "unable to duplicate" the problem. I told them there is a problem. Im afraid of losing my life an risking others on the streets and highway because of this serious issue the no one wants to fix.

Accelerator sticks , happened one time when vehicle was new, (vehicle was less then six months old, also happened on 07/11/08 and 07/12/08) when depressing accelerator all the way to the floor then removing foot from accelerator, pedal does not return, car keeps going faster till engine is shut down.

There was a transmission problem in the consumer's 2001 Chrysler 300 m.
