Vehicle motor or transmission lurches and stalls, won't stay in gear, stops for no reason in traffic, slams into gear. But won't accelerate. Arrigo chrylser dealership in fort pierce florida stated they repaired issue with computer reset or reprogramming but did not resolve. Continues to stall and lurch and lose power.
Stalls for a second during accelerating very unsafe on the road and in stop and go traffic.
This vehicle has stalled out and completely shut off while driving. No warning or anything just driving around 50mph and everything shuts off and steering locks up you cannot control the vehicle. Then the screen pops up telling you to place in park while your still traveling 50mph. This has now happend 3 times. It happens the first time in may 2019 around 48,000 miles and now 2 time on July 8 2020 at 74,000 miles. I have read several articles online that this is happening to alot of these vehicles and there has been over 50 complaints but nothing has been done yet. This is a highly dangerous vehicle to drive in. Something must be done to project families for getting injury's. Luckily this has happened to me on smaller roads and not a highway yet! this can be deadly!.
There has been more than one occasion where my car would shift from drive to neutral or even stalls completely. There have been times where decelerates on its on and when it locks up from the parking gear while trying to shift to drive. Most recent occurrance of this was Sunday, December 22, 2019. Acceleration from a stopped position always feels like I was rear-ended everytime. I have had multiple safety recalls and the 2 times I took it back to the dealer for fixing, I reported this concern. Dealership reported finding no issue as reported. I have received of yet another recall in 2018 but have not had a chance to take it in. I fear for the safety of my children and I as this is the only vehicle I have. But these defects that dealership reports as "finding no issue" is not fair. Its a death trap. These stops, stalls, deceleration and accelerations that started in 2017 and continues thru today is presenting a severe danger hazard and I need help.
Hesitation when I turn and try to accelerate. I thought it was my gas but I'm seeing there was a recall on some 2017 for this problem. Mine has done this several times when I turn. It has only happened on the city streets while in motion. Almost like it wants to stall out then a small few small jerks and then takes off. I just bought this van in March 2019 from westgate jeff wyler. There was no recalls for this van but I'm having the same problem they recalled on other 2017 Pacifica. It's done this several times.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
We have had to replace all spark plugs and all ignition coils as because the vehicle just breaks downs suddenly cause lights to come on and be flashing while shaking very violently and not shifting correctly. This is usually following the issues we have with the transmission stalling and hard shifting forward more often than usual. It is underivable in this condition and requires a tow to the shop. We are told this is normal maintenance but starting at 6,000 miles hardly seems normal. Spark plugs shouldn't even need replaced until at least 100,000 miles let alone any sort of coil.
Tl-the contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph attempting a turn on an encline, the vehicle stalled. No warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle will stall and then hard shift from first to second gear. We initially noticed the hard shifting when we bought the vehicle but thought it might be the auto stop/start system. We didn't think much of it until it started shifting harder when we would stop or be driving. This, at times, caused issues when turning or accelerating to go through an intersection. The vehicle stalling causes a safety hazard and presents an opportunity for an accident to occur due to the delayed response of the vehicle. The cars following behind could potentially rear end the vehicle. The hard-shifting feels like someone hit you from behind and causes back and neck pain from the sudden jerking movement. This vehicle has also completely stopped when being driven causing a serious safety hazard. It started up again immediately after that incident only to not start at all a few months later. This vehicle has been nothing but trouble for us from the very beginning. We stayed optimistic that the recalls would fix the issues. They haven't. It's only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or heaven forbid dies because of this issue. We have had 8+ service visits for this van. At one time it was completely inoperable and had to be towed to the service department. We are frustrated with Chrysler and the service department at ancira Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge in san antonio, TX.
Stalled when I pressed accelerator and died adter waiting for a light. Turned off and I had to restart the car in an intersection with a bus behind me!.
Leasing 2017 pacific touring l. Ever since it passed 8k miles, jerking movements after coming to a stop, like some body hit you from behind. Took it east hills Chrysler and Jeep dealer in long island, NY twice. The first time they updated the software they said. 2nd time they couldn't duplicate the problem. Ofcourse cuz this jerking movement happens. Sometimes. In June 2019 this is happening a lot everyday with the NY city traffic on the highway. May 2019, van stalled while stopped at red light. Screen said shift to park to drive. . . . had to do shift and press the start button twice to get the control back of the vehicle. This time wife and 2 children with me. Of course ppl started honking and yelling cuz it's nyc. Also most of the time while fueling, the fuel pump stops. Really scared to drive this van anymore.
Van stalling while moving at slow speed on 101 northbound freeway.
Our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has been jerking into gear and won't accelerate and then after a few moments, it does. The jerking feels as if someone just hit you from behind and you stall before being able to accelerate. This always happened while in motion flat road, incline, or down hill. When we called the dealership and took it in and informed them of the issue, they said they didn't see a problem. Now, we have an unknown message that says "service shifter". This came after the van was sitting and we got in to start the vehicle. It wouldn't start. Had to wait for a tow. The power windows, doors, hatch won't work but the radio and communications systems work fine.

The vehicle was able to restart and was later towed to an unknown dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was not available. Third post of same complaint. Coming from turns or when shifting in low speed, the vehicle randomly stalls upon acceleration then slams into gear, causing the entire vehicle to jolt. Have taken van to original purchasing dealership multiple times (10+) in the past year and a half, and have been told that they cannot find a problem. This category has the most complaints on the NHTSA website all of very similar issue something must be done from Chrysler.

We have a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica tourling l-plus that had a recent software update, all recalls have been completed. The van fully stalled while accelerated in the highway between 30-40 miles per hour, for about 5 seconds before re-engaging into gear. It did not feel like it was in between gears when it stalled- as far as we could tell, the engine still had power but temporarily stopped accelerating.
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica touring plus with all the latest known software recalls up to date as of 8/22/2018 experienced a full stall while under wide open throttle and attempting to enter a highway on ramp. The stall seemed like a transmission lag, shifting delay or lack of response. The engine from 0-20 mph had plenty of power (rpm's); then when switching gears it seems the power was cut for a full 3-5 seconds while the transmission made a shift and only after letting off the accelerator (even though there were 0 rpms) did it finally kick into motion again and pull out of the stall. The systems auto stop was disabled via the override button on the dashboard when this occurred and the gas tank was 40% full.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The message "place car into park" was displayed. The vehicle was restarted and operated normally. The contact called a local dealer (route 46 Chrysler Jeep Dodge, 1655 route 46, little falls, NJ, (888) 296-4062) and schedulded a service appointment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and provided case number: 34962584, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 17,900.
The vehicle was in motion at ~30 mph when it stalled in the middle of the road. It took several minutes before it would restart by pushing the ignition button. The vehicle had the 2018 stall recall software update installed months before this occurred. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, but the dealer could not replicate the problem, so they told me to come pick up the vehicle.
Vehicle stalls while driving. Braking and vehicle keeps going and or accelerating and vehicle does not even move. Hard shifting when hot and cold. Also vehicle has had multiple shifter issues and will not start this has happened on city streets and x on the highway.
I owned Chrysler Pacifica van 2017 for about a year now, it is keeps stalling while driving, so far it had happened to me 6 times, it is very scary, I don't feel safe. Imagine you are crossing the intersection and your car stalls in the middle of two way traffic! I took it to the local dealer where I bought it and they haven't been able to figure it out. All recalls were done. They know I keep having this issue with my van because every visit for service I keep telling them about it and I get ignored, they don't even make any notes in my file and every time I talk about it with the service man he pretends like it is the first time he hears about it. I do not know what else to do and I do know I'm not the only one who's van stalls, it is a safety issue that needs to be resolved by Chrysler.

Bought new, currently has approx. 1200 miles on it. Van has stalled while driving multiple times while showing error messages including "stop/start unavailable, service stop/start system", the letter a! with an arrow around it. When van stalls the gear knob flashes in "d" or drive mode. Taken to service for first incident week of 4/16, dealership replaced the ecm. Picked up vehicle on 4/18 and stalled again on 4/22 and 4/23 while showing the exact same error messages. Towed to dealer on 4/24 and they kept it until 4/30 with no fix as they said they could not replicate the errors or stalling. Picked up the van on 4/30 and the vehicle stalled again and exhibited the same error codes while not even a quarter mile from leaving the dealership. I pulled over, put the van in park, started the van again and took it back to the dealer and the onsite manager took a picture of the error code a! and it is still in service for the 3rd time. I have pictures and videos to support my issues. This vehicle absolutely stalls while driving. I have notified Chrysler corp directly and they are monitoring the service done at the dealership.

The dealer stated that the VIN was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was currently at the same dealer for repairs. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that he would be reimbursed for a new engine since the vehicle had only been driven for a year. The failure mileage was 20,000.
Vehicle was recalled due to Pacifica's stalling creating dangerous situations, van was take to dealership and software updated. Our van had been having many transmission issues, mainly hard shifts that shifted so hard it felt like the vehicle was rear ended. After the software update, our family was on an on ramp to the highway and the vehicle suddenly just stalled and stopped. The vehicle finally began moving again after what seemed like a long time but was most likely 5 - 10 seconds. Had a vehicle been following us it would have resulted in an accident without question. The van made it home and has been parked in our garage as we feel it is unsafe to drive. Chrysler has been contacted and is looking into it. We bought a new vehicle and this one because of the many safety features, unfortunately we are left with a vehicle that puts my wife and three kids in danger.
The Pacifica has a stalling problem when taking off. Then it jerks into gear really bad . This problem has been on going. Dealership supposedly had fixed the problem, when the vehicle was under warranty. It now is out of warranty and the problem is still there.
This van has staled on me 4 separate times now, twice putting me in a very bad area for a head on crash and 1 severe read end crash. I have had the van in the shop multiple times, this last time since 4th of March to current. 1st time I was driving about 30 mph on a main city street, pulled out of side street and the van just stalled. I have no power steering, brakes, nothing, by the time it stopped rolling I was in the oncoming lane of a very busy street. 2nd time I was dead stop at a light, the light changed and they van didnt move, had the pedal to the floor and nothing. 3rd time I was leaving my home, pulled out onto the country road on which we live, started up the hill, lost power again, took me in the oncoming lane, which if a car or truck came around the bend they wouldnt have tiome to stop[, logging truck was roaring up behind me, dont know how he missed me, all the time on his horn. I have talked with Chrysler escalation dept. And they offered to do a buy back. . Went to dealership today and what Chrysler offered was 50% now on the buy back and the other 50% when they resale the van? the dealership wont except this offer. Its unethical and unsafe and they want no part of this. Chrysler is aware of the problem with no fix at this time. I am no getting back into that van nor do t I don't want to be their 1st fatality nor do I want to be one of their statics.
I brought my car into the shop on Friday February 2, because I had experienced on 2 separate occasions a stall. Once when I was turning out of my subdivision, so thankfully at a slow speed, however, the car stalled in the middle of a busy road that I was turning onto. The second time, I was pulling into the gas station, decellerating at about 30mph. I had no idea about this recall, I just knew that I needed to get it fixed, as I have 3 children that ride in my car every day. Once I arrived to the dealer, I was notified that there were 2 recalls for my vehicle, and that they wouldn't be able to fix either of them until April. I have owned the car for less than a year, and am terrified to put my children in this vehicle. Chrysler has informed me there is nothing they can do for me. That they will fix it in 2nd quarter of 2018. This is not ok. 2 saftey recalls and Chrysler is not doing anything about it. I know there must be others out there that are thinking this way as well, and that we can come together to get this taken care of. I will not wait around for my car to crash while I'm driving due to a stall and a recall that is not being fixed for 3-4 months. I am not impressed at all with Chrysler and will make sure they are held accountable.
While waiting at a red light my auto stop/start system automatically activated as usual. However, this time when the light turned green the engine did not automatically start. Instead, the vehicle stalled. The car was in drive and my foot was on the brake pedal. A warning chime alerted me to the problem. Also, a message instructed me to turn the car off and the put it into park and restart it. After turning the car off and then on the car moved.
Twice in the last week my Pacifica has stalled at a light. I waited at a red light and when the light turned green, I pressed the accelerator. The engine is on run but dash says shift to park after I press the accelerator. I shift to park then shift to drive and the car won't move. I have to turn the car off and then shift to drive and it will then go.
For the past year the car jerks forward and stalls while driving. Especially after going from a stop. Sometimes it is so bad, you violently jerk forward. Have broughten to dealer twice for this. Once they did a softward update, that did not help. Second time they said it was normal.
We purchased a Pacifica on 12/21/2017. Not even an hour after leaving the dealership the vehicle stalled, losing all power, and had to be restarted to regain power and driving ability at a stop light. We were not hit, but it is very dangerous to have a vehicle that stalls randomly.
