I have two occasions where my vehicle stalled. 1. I was driving at 40 mph on the highway and everything went dead, I coasted to a stop on the side and was able to put it in park and restart. The second time I was stopped at a light on a side street, and started to go from a stop to a left turn and the vehicle start to go and suddenly went dead. I put it in park and restarted. No engine lights, nothing to tell me where the problem was. I am taking it in for service.
Brand new car lost power while on freeway. When restarted would not allow me to move out of "park. " turned engine off for five minutes and turned back on. Was able to move into "drive". 2 days later car also lurched, lost power, jumped into "park"then stalled. Was able to restart but car would not accelerate properly. Took to dealer. Have not heard back.
The vehicle stalled while stopped at a traffic light at a busy intersection. The start button continued to display "run" and the vehicle was in drive. After shutting the vehicle off, it took multiple attempts at restarting the vehicle for it to resume operating.
The first time I drove the vehicle it almost stalled making a left into oncoming traffic. The auto start stop was shut down by me at the next intersection. Then the start stop light came on the warning system display. I have had problems with the auto start stop system from first day of ownership and has been to the dealer 4 times with about 350 miles on it. Another time the vehicle had to be towed to the dealer as it would not start at all and the dash said service shifter. I have asked the dealer to replace the car and they said they will ask Chrysler, as I bought it for my wife and she is afraid to drive it. It is the touring l model. I have had two different loaner Pacificas without auto start stop, with no issues. I requested the regional representative call me about this safety issue on a survey form but no response.
It started about a month or so after we bought the vehicle. When trying to accelerate after a complete stop the van feels like it's trying to stall then takes off so hard it feels like we've been rear-ended. We've taken the vehicle to the dealer many times & never got fixed. They kept pushing it off & even ignoring me. They finally gave me Chrysler customer care #a month ago so I called & got a case. Chrysler finally called me & said there is nothing they can do even though it's still under warranty. We looked up the lemon law & realized they ignored us because we were supposed to start a claim within 18 months of purchase which was last month.
Car has stalled numerous times.
The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle sputtered and stalled every time it was driven. The dealer (walnut creek Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram, 2404 n main st, walnut creek, CA) stated that the parts were unavailable for the repair. The contact researched online and found a recall regarding the engine associated with her VIN. The manufacturer was also contacted and confirmed that parts were unavailable for the repair. The NHTSA campaign number was unknown. The failure mileage was 9,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica touring. While attempting to accelerate from a stop, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The throttle and service engine warning indicators illuminated. The contact also mentioned that the vehicle would stall in the middle of the roadway with the same indicators illuminated. The contact would have to pull the vehicle over, turn the engine off, and attempt to exit the vehicle due to a message that read "key fob not detected". The contact stated that this was a handicap adaptive vehicle, so she would have to open the ramp door to exit the vehicle in traffic. When the contact re-entered the vehicle, she had to depress the brake pedal to restart the vehicle to operate it correctly. The vehicle was taken to mobility works, the independent mechanic that made the adaptation to the vehicle, but the failure was unable to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The contact visited reedman toll auto world (1700 east Lincoln highway #101, langhorne, PA 19047, (877) 702-7807) and was informed that mobility works would need to diagnose the failure since they performed the adaptive work. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
My wife was driving the car in stop and go traffic on the highway when it stalled out. She lost all power steering and power braking. She had to stop the car completely and put it in park before being able to restart. The problem kept recurring and she was only able to go a short distance each time. Luckily she was able to nurse the car off the highway and onto a side street to park it. I went back to the car the following week after it was parked and had the same problem only it seemed even worse. I would start the car, it would drive only a few feet and shut down completely. This happened repeatedly (maybe 5 times) until I decided to park it and call Chrysler. Called Chrysler and they said it had to be towed to the nearest dealer. It was picked up about 3 hours later. They called me about 3 days later and told me that the gas tank had been overfilled and it caused something to malfunction. This seems very hard to believe would be the cause of such a catastrophic failure. They said they needed to replace the fuel tank. About 2 weeks later, they had replaced the fuel tank, canister, valve, fuel cover and fuel module. I picked the car up and had no incidents driving home. That said, I am scared to drive this car or put my family in this car - particularly on the highway. I want Chrysler to buy this car back from me. I don't want to be scared driving it every day.

I purchased a brand new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica and was had 309 miles on the car when I had this incident. I was driving approximately 65mph in the left most lane when I suddenly lost all power to the engine, steering, and brakes and was unable to accelerate or brake normally. I used quite a bit of strength to maneuver the car to the right shoulder and nearly was rear ended by a semi truck in doing so as there was no shoulder on the left hands side. During this time period, all of the lights in the instrument cluster were flashing various warnings and failure symbols. I was able to get to the shoulder, shut off the car and restart it at which point the car was violently shaking and again giving many flashing warnings. I drove at a max speed of 16mph to a safer location off the highway at which point the car again stalled and stopped. The car was then towed to the dealer.
While traveling at low speeds, especially when making turns/ coming out of parking lots, our Chrysler Pacifica will stall. It does a hard shift and jolts forward, as if a gear has slipped or we have been rear-ended. The first time we took it in for this issue was in September of 2017 when the car had about 32,000 miles. Numerous software updates have been done and a valve throttle body was put on in June 2018 to try and resolve the issue after many former attempts. It worked for a couple months, but now we are experiencing the stall/ hard shift again. Chrysler's customer care has blantantly denied me the opportunity to speak to supervisors and points the finger at the dealership, while they point fingers ar Chrysler. The car is 2 years old and doesn't give me any hope of ever really being fixed. We have been meticulous about maintenance and have only taken it to certified Chrysler dealerships. Our first family car purchased together has been an experience we don't want others to go through. Chrysler is not taking responsibility for producing unsafe vehicles.
This car has had multiple stalls, whereas when driving, the engine will shut down and steering be affected. This has happened in the middle of an intersection with my children in the car. There are no warning signs that this will happen, the car just suddenly becomes inoperable. You have to place in park for 30 seconds and then restart the car. This car is extremely dangerous to drive. The diagnostic is a fuel pressure sensor, but further research indicates this is a widespread problem that Chrysler may be aware of.
The van has less than 200 miles in it when it stated stalling. It now has 205 miles, and it has stalled(engine stopped) 5 times already. This occured when decelerating or when fully stopped with the gears still in drive. The engine will stop and a message on the dashboard to put the vehicle in park to start will appear. Restarting the engine is normal with no issues.
We were driving (in motion) car across tapenzee bridge (highway) and it stopped, (completely, no coasting etc) out of no where, no warning. Car eventually restarted after it was put in park and ignition was activated again. Since incident, car has stalled twice with no warning but has not shut off completely like it did on bridge.
Highway speed, heavy traffic, engine suddenly stopped. Warning sounds and lights on dash. Loss of power steering. Had to come to complete stop in middle of highway traffic, place in park, depress brake, push start button. Occurred June 22, 2017 about 3200 miles on new vehicle. No resolution from dealership or Chrysler. Chrysler instructed dealership to report loaner car as stolen. Also requested data recorder be installed and I continue to drive until occurs again. I refused to place my family at risk. Have since purchased other brand replacement vehicle and am trying to arrange buy-back.
The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and the "shift into park and restart vehicle" warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (parkway Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram located at 21560 hall rd clinton township, mi 48038), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 8,900.
Transmission not shifting from first gear or second gear, stalling in intersection or when acceleration on freeway.
New 2017 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid with 270 miles stalled on a busy intersection and won't turn on. The vehicle was in motion when it lost power and came to a complete stop. The engine sign is on and message says "press brake to prevent rollong". Turning off and turning the it back on does not make the issue go away.
Van stalls and jerks.
My Pacifica has been stalling out when I back out or pull forward at times. . It has also shut off when it was idling several times. The Pacifica has also started up on its own several times with no one in the car.
Air conditioning blows cold then hot and stays hot until it is turned off and then back on multiple times in 10-20 mile range. Stalled at a red light. Turned off when backing up in my driveway. Parking break light keeps popping on when turning knob for changing gears.
The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and the "shift to park" error message displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle lost power completely, but was able to be restarted by shifting to park. In addition, on several occasions, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and lurched forward while the accelerator pedal was depressed. Heggs Chrysler in masa, arizona reprogrammed the computer and replaced the accelerator pedal sensor, but the failure recurred. The dealer stated that the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000. The VIN was not available.
