The gas pedal sticks on this vehicle when trying to accelerate. When the car does finally start moving forward it "jerks" forward rapidly. This has occurred when pulling out of park & also when trying to pull out into traffic. From researching it on the internet it seems to be a common issue related to the throttle body.

I had the brakes repaired in 2012; the next month the abs light came on and the sensor was replaced. Ten months later, the sensor light came on again. I was told it was insignificant, that the brakes are fine. In the fall of 2013, I had the car towed to a shop because it tried to accelerate while I was pressing the brakes. I spent over $800. 00 having a bunch of codes cleared with the transmission and other things. The engine light was off for a few days but came back on. There was an error that read gas cap. I replaced the gas cap but the engine light remains on. In March 2014 the brake light came on, I was told that I needed to replace the calibers but later was told that I didn't. I had someone else to check and they said that I needed new front brakes. I had those replaced. On 4/7/2014, I was leaving the parking garage at the doctor's office and the gas pedal was stuck. Lucky for me it was on a downhill slope and I was able to stop at the stop sign and put the car in park and press the accelerator to unstick it. Today, April 13, 2014 the brake light is back on and there is a noise in the frontend. I love my car but it just does not feel safe to drive.

I have previously reported a problem with the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica stalling when turning. The problem has progressively worsened. This month alone, (December 2011) the car has stalled 5 times. I am afraid to drive the car for fear that I will crash when it stalls. There are so many Chrysler Pacifica owners that are reporting the same problem. Along with the stalling issue, the gas pedal sticks and needs to be pushed rather hard. A third problem I have encountered this year is the headlamps "burning out". I have replaced the front left headlamp three this year. I am familiar with the handling instructions for headlamps. I am greatly distressed by these problems, especially the stalling. I have children that I drive around in this car. Please do something about Chrysler's failure to fix this problem.

My gas pedal sticks while driving the car or after I stop the car at a light or sign. When at a complete stop, I have to push hard on the pedal, which makes the car lurch forward. When I am driving on the expressway, it gets stuck and I am not able to accelerate, which can cause an accident. I see that I am not the only one with this problem. I took the car to the dealership, the tech knew what I was talking about, said that it was a throttle body assembly that gets old and needs to be replaced for 200 bucks. If this is happening on the majority of the Pacificas, why do the consumers need to pay to have it replaced. This is a strict liability negligence, not my fault.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving approximately 20 mph the accelerator pedal became stuck and she engaged the brakes in order to stop the vehicle. The failure occurred more than fifty times. She noticed when the vehicle also began to hesitate when she engaged the accelerator pedal. The failure had been on going for several weeks. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The dealer advised her that the throttle body needed to be cleaned. The contact authorized the dealer to repair the vehicle. The VIN was unavailable. The failure mileage was 57,500 and the current mileage was 58,086.
While driving my Chrysler pacific 2006 I notice that the gas pedal sticks when pushing down on the gas pedal making the car take off fast. I took the car to the dealer darcars and Jeep Chrysler of new carrollton MD and they told me that the equip line to the gas tank was broke I inform them that I did not know how that could have happen when know one has ever work on my car. The manager was not caring at all I told him that I felt that this was a safety issue and he was not concern with the safety of my well being. I have also called the Chrysler headquarter and inform them about my issue with the gas pedal. This could lead to me pushing on the gas pedal to hard and possibly running into the back of someone and our something else happening. Mr. Mike bayat who is the director of that dealership did not even go out to take a look at the problem he just to his tech work and I felt that the tech was the one who could have broken the line. I felt that I was taken advantage of because I am a women, I know that they make there money on how many repairs they do. My warranty cover this part and I felt that the person that was working on my car was trying to get over on me. Another tech was there and he felt that the tech who had work on my car should have replace it under the warranty. This part is cover under the I have warranty and the manager could care less about my safety. I left there with the gas pedal still sticking and no concerns from the dealership.
Accelerator pedal sticks after lifting. I have to exert extra pressure on the pedal to get the car to speed up. Sometimes from a stop it sticks and the car lurches forward or reverse depending on the gear selected.

My wife has a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica and as of yesterday 2/22/2010 the accelerator pedal has stuck in the up position 3 times while she has been driving and 1 time while I was driving the vehicle on 2/21/10. The pedal sticks up so that it can not be pushed down. We have had to turn the vehicle off and restart before we can easily push the pedal down. I am concerned that a time may come where we are pulling out in traffic and the pedal sticks potentially causing our vehicle to not accelerate and causing an accident.
2006 Chrysler Pacifica gas pedal is sticking. When moving from parked or stopped position the pedal needs a lot of force in order to go. The car jerks forward and takes off fast.
Gas pedal sticking.
I own a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. I purchased the vehicle new in 2006. The accelerator on the vehicle sticks forcing me to apply a great deal of pressure to make it go. I have been told that this is the result of the accumulation of gunk in the throttle and that this is a common problem with the Pacifica. I believe this poses a safety issue for me and my family along with other motorists. This is clearly a manufacturers defect since it is so common place in the Pacificas. I would like to ask your agency's help in making Chrysler accountable to fix this defect before someone gets killed.
The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that there were several times when the accelerator pedal became stuck. Each time, the failure occurred when the contact was parking. My problem is that my car gas pedal will get stuck but it's not an everyday occurrence it happens maybe one time a day sometimes two with a week or least in between then so no mechanic can help me and when I called Chrysler and told my problem they won't help me even though they have other cars with the same exact issue but because my car isn't the same model or year they won't help. Im so frustrated. When my car is in the park mode and you put to drive or reverse it gets stuck like there is no acceleration coming to it for about after 5 seconds until you keep pushing on it and then when it finally releases your foot is pushing on the gas and so of course your car suddenly floors I'm lucky I haven't hit anything or anyone for that matter! I hope this gets fixed soon before something worse happens!.

I have had several incidents of the accelerator pedal sticking. I have taken it into the dealer with no results. I have e-mailed Chrysler and they tell me to take it to the dealer. With the recent Toyota accelerator pedal problems, I am concerned that others are experiencing the same problems. I see one other in your records.
