While reversing at 2 mph, the throttle became stuck and the vehicle inadvertently accelerated and crashed into another vehicle, a dumpster, and a telephone pole. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was towed to a collision repair facility. The source of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the same failure occurred two years ago. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 42,000.

2 Car Throttle Stuck problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 04/14/2011

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal would intermittently become stuck in a partially depressed position. In order to release the pedal form that position, the contact had to apply more pressure to the pedal. The vehicle would surge forward or backward when this occurred. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the inside portion of the throttle was scraped out in order to remedy the failure. The dealer stated that the metal plate on the throttle got stuck and the remedy was a temporary fix. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 63,000 and the current mileage was 74,000.
