Number of days your vehicle is down: indefinitely as of now there is no fix according to the dealership parts are at least 10 weeks out with them not knowing how to do the install once parts arrive number of repair attempts: there is no fix as of now but the vehicle has broken down 4 times parts for the transmission are on back order (at least ten weeks) and they do not know how to install the parts once they arrive first repair attempt date and problem: June 10, 2025 the van showed a message saying pull over as the vehicle will stop while we were on the highway heading to my daughters graduation. Initially. We were able to pull over that time and stop driving before the car turned off. We took the vehicle in and they inspected it for the recall. Most recently, the vehicle did it again on the highway. I was not being able to pull all the way over prior to the vehicle, losing power and stopping in the middle of the highway with my children inside. Voice of the customer / complaint: as of now there is no timetable for us to be able to return driving the vehicle which is extremely unsafe. We purposely got a seven passenger van to transport our entire family, and at this point we have no way to do. So. The dealership says they are unable to give us a loaner for that, and we are getting no assistance with this with no timetable. As far as when the vehicle will be fixed. Therefore, I’m requesting a buyback of the vehicle so that we can get something to transport our family as the vehicle is down. I am still having to pay for the car note without having anything to show for it. I cannot drive it as I don’t know when it will shut off. It is currently sitting at the dealer.

When driving van will jerk or bang like slipping in gear, feels like possible being hit from behind, we have tried the adaptive learning reset several times, we had just purchased this less than 2 months ago with about 4800 miles in it. Feels dangerous to drive, especially with kids. We are scared to even try the cruise control. We heard and read online many whey same issues, with warranty and having there vans in dealership on several events, having reset in software upgrades, transmission replacement with only the problem to return. Please fix this, this one of my vehicles that unfortunately I have to drive because it's my only vehicle. This problem happens at lest everytime I'm driving daily, it started maybe a few weeks ago from the time this has been written.

On 04/26/25 while traveling on the interstate the car issued a warning engine light and turtle image to pull off the road as the car would shut off, immediately it had no power, maybe could only go 30 mph. Took the car in on 5/10 which was the earliest appt. Said they did a software update, gave the car back. Took the car again on 6/4 when the same warning appeared again on the interstate, same situation disabled vehicle at high speeds on the interstate and no power. Said they changed a module related to the error and gave me the car back. Yesterday as I was driving on I-95 70 mph the car gave the same warning and shut off again, immediately I had no power, 30 mph. The dealer acknowledged my car is not the only one in his shop with this issue. They had my vehicle for nearly a month the time before. This vehicle is not safe to drive on the highways as it can shut off at any time. It's a known problem by Chrysler and their idea of fixing it, is issuing a warning which gives you almost no time to get off the highway before your speed is greatly reduced and even then you're stuck on the side of the highway with cars speeding by in an area with no shoulder or construction zone you'd be stuck in the middle of the road. Someone will wind up dead on the highway, I am lucky that in the 3 times this has happened I have not been hit and have been able to safely get to the shoulder, but I don't see Chrysler being able to fix this issue, the dealership did reach out to the manufacturer each time. I know my car is not the only one that has this issue and I'm concerned for the safety of anyone who owns one of these. A simple google search of this vehicle will show the problem is wide spread.

The contact rented a 2025 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph with the adaptive cruise control mode activated, the message "adaptive cruise control off" was displayed, and the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration. The contact stated that the vehicle exceeded 100 mph and failed to decelerate upon depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle speed continued to increase, nearly causing the vehicle to crash into a semi-truck. The contact was able to drive onto the shoulder of the road, where the contact shifted to neutral(n), and the vehicle stopped. The vehicle was later towed to the rental car facility. The manufacturer and the local dealer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 23,000.

I got checked for dealer its fault in transmission. But I don't feel safe driving again since it shuts off while doing 65 mph. Hi! this vehicle stopped twice in the middle of a road on its own. Vehicle was driving fine and the next second it slowed down and wouldn’t accelerate as I would push the gas pedal. It’s as if the engine shut down due to the car signals not transmitting correctly. The screen started blinking on and off giving me warnings and one of them said “service shifter!” my safety and my children’s safety was put at risk because anyone could’ve hit us from behind as the car started decelerating on the road with oncoming traffic. I towed the car to a mechanic as the car does not run properly while being driven, and the mechanic said it has multiple electrical issues and multiple leaks. The vehicle was inspected by my own mechanic, as the dealer also inspected it and they tried to connect the scanner to turn off the engine light and get me to drive off. They have refused help and I truly believe they knew this car was a safety hazard. After leaving the dealer, 4 minutes into driving the car started slowing down and I was able to make it into the parking lot, but got stranded in the middle of the street where opposite traffic comes into. I bought the car 03/01/2025. The check engine light turned on 2 weeks in. The battery seemed to be drained 2 weeks in but it did not need cables or recharge, it’s as if the battery loses connection. Then at the one month mark it started having those issues, no warning until it completely stopped on the road. When it stopped on the road, that’s when the screen started going off with multiple warnings.

I bought a 2022 Pacifica hybrid in October 2022. About 2 months ago(Feb 2025), while I was driving on the 360 highways, my car suddenly showed "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" and a turtle symbol. At this time, I was driving 70 mph and the car started to slowly stop. Then, I tried to drive into a nearby starbucks to check it out. I turned off the car. Everything was ok such as oil, coolant, a/c, windshield. Then I restarted the car and the "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" and the turtle symbol were gone. I thought it was okay, so I continued driving. 5 days ago (April 11-13, 2025), I had a trip to san antonio. When I was driving close to austin. My car showed "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" and the turtle symbol again. At this time, I stopped on I-35. I feel very dangerous for me, my wife and my 2 children. I feel very scared and confused when I am driving on I-35 and the car stops like that. I feel like our lives are in danger while driving. Then "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" and the turtle symbol appear more frequently. My car has appeared "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" and the turtle symbol 6 times in 3 days. Yesterday was April 14, 2025. When I parked in my driveway, "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" and the turtle symbol also appeared. Every day, I must take my 2 children to school in my 2022 Pacifica hybrid. Now, I feel very scared when driving. I do not know when "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" and the turtle symbol will appear again and will cause an accident for my family. We sincerely hope that you will consider and request Chrysler to help us check and fix this as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

The contact owned a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the contact depressed the gas pedal then suddenly the vehicle accelerated. There were no warning lights illuminated. As a result, the vehicle accelerated unintentionally, then crashed into a wall and from the impact into the garage and two walls. None of the air bags deployed. There was property damage to the garage and walls the contact did not suffer injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. The insurance company deemed it a total loss. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 79,828.

I was traveling at south bound on toll 130 going 80mph (which is the speed limit on that road) when my Pacifica immediately slowed down and my accelerator gave out. In addition to my dash flashing that the cruise control was no longer available, but the van also said "service charging system" and "shift to p to start", the engine light and batter light both came on. I am sure that I almost died as I was in the middle lane and cars were whipping around me since I had slowed down so much, there was an 18 wheeler behind me and one of my righthand side, which is the shoulder I was trying to get to. I was finally able to coast to the shoulder and came to a stop, put the car in park and turned it off. I immediately started researching what the problem could be and I was alarmed to find out that this is an issue that others have had and that Chrysler has failed to issue a recall. . . I was able to start the car once more and get on to a little back road, after pushing through a barricade off the toll just for safety's sake, and my van broke down again, this time on a little 2 lane road, which thankfully had a little bit of a gravel shoulder. This time, my van took quite a bit longer to get started, but I was not safe where I was. I started it once more and was able to get to a wal-mart parking lot where my brother-in-law picked me up so that I could have a chance of making it to see my grandmother who was on her deathbed, I missed my window of opportunity to make it to see her, she died that afternoon. I had to pay an additional tow fee to get the vehicle moved from the parking lot to a Chrysler dealership since it was so far from where I usually go.

1215 miles . The adaptive cruise control system was acting sketchy. It failed to maintain proper distance and speed between the vehicle in front. We took it into the dealer who said that the sensor had failed on this brand new vehicle and they replaced it on 2/12/2025. After driving the vehicle when we got it back. There does not seem to be much different. The van tends to accelerate extremely quickly only to get behind the vehicle in front sometimes not keeping proper distance with the way it's set, as well as waiting to the last possible moment maybe 2 or 3 car lengths to break which is extremely scary. Sometimes the warning comes up that says break break . Even with the system said it maximum a car cutting in the system is extremely slow to react. This has led to numerous close calls of rear end collision. We took it back to the dealer on 2/24/2025 1802 miles, who said they couldn't find anything wrong.

My vehicle suddenly experienced a loss of power while driving, starting at 62000 miles per hour. Sometimes the same problem occurs again after driving for several hundred miles per hour, and sometimes even after driving for tens of miles per hour. When this problem occurs, the vehicle cannot continue to drive and can only rely on inertia to slide. It must be parked on the side of the road, the engine must be turned off for one minute, and the vehicle can start again to drive normally. My car has now driven at 89000 miles per hour, and this problem has occurred countless times. At first, it occurred about once every 2-3 days, but now it occurs twice a day.

Vehicle had been operating less than 5 minutes. When I was on an on-ramp for a left entrance to a highway, several warning lights illuminated in addition to messaging on my dash. The car entered "turtle mode" which extremely limited the speed of the vehicle. I immediately pressed the button for my hazard lights to come on, but they did not operate correctly. They flashed so rarely that they did not warn vehicles behind me that I was having an incident. During this incident, the vehicle speedometer was inoperable, displaying "-- --" instead of a speed. I was lucky to be able to pull to the shoulder, but with the narrow shoulder and my child in the car I felt safer limping off the highway using primarily the shoulder. I was terrified and had some cars nearly hit me/honk as I was going approximately 10 miles per hour on a 55mph roadway. I have seen similar reports on online forums for Chrysler Pacifica minivans, so I am not the only one to encounter the issue. The vehicle has also at times refused to go into gear while in park, which is a related problem but I don't deem it a safety issue. The problem is intermittent and the service center is able to see 'codes' when they examine the vehicle but as the issue is intermittent they have returned the car to me twice with no repairs performed since it didn't occur while they had it. The warning lights and turtle mode occurred simultaneously or within a few seconds. I have a video during the incident. I can see the fuel gauge needle rising and falling wildly, turtle mode, a picture of a wrench, check engine, parking brake, brake, collision avoidance, abs, and others. Each time the vehicle has gone in for service they have seen and cleared codes but they did not come back immediately, so no repairs were attempted. It is in the shop again currently and I have escalated to the manufacturer to hopefully get greater assistance.

Driving on highway and car shut off with a "stop safely soon / vehicle turning off" warning message, a red turtle warning, and the malfunction indicator light on. Pulled off on shoulder. Turned car off. Turned car back on. Malfunction indicator light remained on but red turtle was gone. I was able to get to my destination. Malfunction indicator light remained on for next few driving cycles, but then went off after fourth drive. My safety was definitely put at risk as I was driving on the highway at 60-70mph when the car just shut down and slowly decelerated on its own. Because the mil ultimately went off after my fourth drive, I thought I was in the clear--as the Chrysler manual says this light can come on if you've had a recent servicing because the on-board diagnostics may just be recalibrating. I had my car serviced 9 days previous to the incident. The manual says if the light doesn't go off on its own, then bring it in. It went off on its own, so I thought I was in the clear. However I see in online forums this has happened to others multiple times and I'm worried it will happen to me again. I am calling my dealer tomorrow. Thank you for taking this report!.

I was renting this vehicle. On my way home on the highway, going about 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly illuminated the check engine light. Soon after, an message appeared on the dash warning me that I needed to stop and that the vehicle would shut off soon. I immediately pulled over and turned at the next county road. However, I did not realize until this point that my engine power was now being limited to almost nothing. As I crossed a railroad crossing and realized I didn't have engine power, I just hoped that I'd be able to cross and not end up dead on the tracks. Thankfully there was still enough engine power being made available to me to cross the tracks safely and park further down the road. I then turned off the vehicle, called the rental emergency hotline, and was actually able to start the vehicle again at that point without the error. However, the check engine light was still illuminated. I drove the rest of the way home with the check engine light on, but had no other encounter of the message warning me that the vehicle would shut off soon.

Adaptive cruise control slammed on brakes at least five times when nothing there in front or on the sides. First time I ended up with whiplash…now I hear it start to stop and I override system by speeding up. It also sometimes gets so close to car in front without braking so I have to manually brake. I’m concerned about being rear-ended if it slams on brakes for no reason. Five times there were no deer, people, etc.

The vehicle is available for inspection. At an intersection the vehicle abruptly turned off, while the engine was running and in drive. Children were in the vehicle and I was very scared and in shock when it happened. My car just randomly turned off, while I was sitting in the middle of an intersection and the vehicle was in drive (obviously). I was able to turn it back on, but it was very dangerous and could have killed us if a car had come through the [xxx] intersection while we were stuck there. Safety of other drivers on the road at risk, my life and children’s lives were at risk. Could have caused death had our van been stuck in the middle of this busy intersection a few feet more forward. I was driving the vehicle in the middle lane of a 3-lane (one direction) interstate highway when a message appeared on the dashboard "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon," the check engine light turned on and the vehicle lost all ability to accelerate so it was extremely challenging to navigate to the side of the road safely through busy rush hour traffic. As the driver I had zero ability to accelerate the vehicle whatsoever, the gas pedal did absolutely nothing, which can lead to an accident on the highway due to other vehicles moving very quickly and not expecting a vehicle that is not at the right of the road to come to a stop. I brought the vehicle to the Chrysler dealership where they initially stated this is a known issue and they would be replacing the transmission and that the transmission is under 10-year/unliminted miles warranty for this specific error (poa43 driver motor), however once the dealership spoke with Chrysler corporate, they indicated that they would simply be clearing the code and they returned the car to us. We were advised to bring the vehicle back when the error recurs. We opted to sell the vehicle immediately instead, because it it not safe to drive now, but unfortunately this means we are passing the problem on to another consumer as Chrysler refuses to fix the problem. The vehicles transmission malfunctions causing the vehicle to lose complete power, now without warning. We are unable to accelerate and the vehicle comes to a sudden stop. This vehicle shuts down in the middle of the highway causing us to come to a complete stop while driving on the highway, also on back roads one lane roads, the vehicle completely shuts down causing us to block the road and becomes a hazard. This has been a continuous problem. This will now be the fifth time it has been to the repair shop for the same exact problem. It is covered under the warranty, however, when they fix it, it happens right away within two business days, again without warning causing us to be in danger and becomes a hazard anytime we drive the vehicle. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership service center many times. They also sent out an engineer from their company to inspect it. We now have no warning like before the problem occurs only after the vehicle loses power. This will be the third complaint I've filed for this same issue. After it's been "fixed and inspected" this last time.

While driving on a 4-lane highway, I received a message on the dashboard "vehicle will shut off soon". I had just a few seconds before power to the vehicle was limited. The engine stopped working and another message was displayed: "battery conditioning leave ignition in run. " after that the car would no longer move and I was in the middle of the right lane. Luckily I could get my children out safely. The vehicle was towed to the local Chrysler dealership where it is waiting for repair.

This is a follow up to an earlier submission (NHTSA tracking number 11591550). After the initial incident, the dealership replaced the hybrid battery on the vehicle. A month later, yesterday, while driving the vehicle on the interstate, I again received the dreaded, "stop safely, vehicle will shut off soon" warning indicator and the car lost all power about 30 seconds later. Thankfully, I was on an offramp and was able to stop safely. Had I been traveling at full speed in the carpool lane, it could have been very dangerous. The van is now at the dealership for repair, and I hope they fix it for real this time. This is an extremely dangerous situation, with vehicles dying while going full speed.

Vehicle was purchased new on [xxx]. 360 surround cameras and connect box malfunctioned and vehicle was brought in for service on July 10, 2024. I was told by the service advisor that the camera was a poor connection and simply plugged back in but they were unable to reproduce the uconnect issue and that it was currently working. On [xxx] I started the vehicle in my driveway and it immediately entered "limp mode" with a large red turtle appearing on the dash and the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle would not drive greater than 5mph and posed a safety risk on the road so was towed to the dealer. The hybrid battery coolant hose was replaced and I picked up the vehicle on [xxx]. The diagnostic code relayed to me was p0c44-00. On [xxx], I started the vehicle in a family member's driveway and it again entered limp mode with the red turtle and check engine light displayed. The vehicle was again not able to be driven and was towed to the dealer. Chrysler engineers are now involved in the repair. After having the car serviced to fix the recall, my car stopped running while on the freeway at 60mph. This is now the 3rd time in less than 10 days that this has happened. I had the transmission replaced previously to fix this issue but it has returned.

I was driving my car and approached at a stop sign. The car stopped and froze. The shifter knob lights were out and I was unable to move the car or shift the gears into neutral . ( the engine turned on ,but I could not move my car. ) I had the car towed to my autodealership. Since then, the car has repeatedly started, but the shifter is frozen. My dealership has spent a month telling me they don't know how to fix the car. The dealership has been trying one thing after the other, they tell me, yet within a week my car is not functioning. The dealership installed new programming. A week ago. . A few days afterwards, while I was slowing down in city traffic, the dashboard filled with error messages and the car became extremely bumpy to drive. Today, I just had the car towed again to the dealership. The car started, but the shifter was not functioning with an error message "service shifter. " the car shifter randomly worked once the tow truck arrived, but still had the engine light on. I await to see if the car can be fixed.

Vehicle lost motive power while driving. Vehicle was new with less then 1,500 miles. After a full charge drove about 4 miles and received message "vehicle will shut down". Tried to pull into a gas station parking lot and only made it half way through the parking lot. Vehicle has been brought to dealer and a new power inverter module is being installed.

While driving at full speed on an interstate, I received the message, "stop safely, vehicle will shut off soon. " the van then lost power, and I was able to pull over safely (thankfully!). After about 15 minutes, the van restarted, and I made it about 10 miles until it happened again. After two more shut-downs, I was able to get the van to a dealership, where it has been sitting undiagnosed for over a week now.

We lost momentum and ability to accelerate and I had to stop on the side of the highway as cars had to drive around us as we were forced to stop half on the right highway shoulder and half in the right-most lane. •has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? not that I am aware of. •has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? not as of 06may2924, I reached out to the bachman jeffersonville indiana dealer that I purchased this vehicle from to collect the vehicle’s issue code(s). •were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? “stop safety vehicle will shut off soon” appeared when the vehicle first had the issue occur. Now the check engine light remains on when the vehicle is powered on.

While I am driving the vehicle will shut completely off without warning. I have to pull to the side of the road and restart the vehicle.

I had had multiple incidents when the van would get stuck in a gear or would lose the ability to accelerate. The passenger doors, specifically the right side passenger door would get suck and continuously open because it could not close. The rear view cameras would get stuck and after reverting to d it would stay on the screen for at least 5 min before switching back. The screen would also go blank. The van would also get stuck between gears or would shut off at a stop light. On this particular day I was driving and was starting to slowdown for the light signal. The van suddenly jolted and stopped completely. I tried to turn it on and it would not start. I was very lucky that the car behind me noticed me slowing down and did not hit the van. I tried to turn on the van and the electrical function would turn on but not the engine. Then after continuously trying to start it the gear function would not move. I also want to add that at the time of purchase the van was missing a air duct and I was not made aware of that. I was told by the dealer that it had active recalls but they were not able to fix the recalls because the engine would not start. It had an active recall for the flash software and for the start stop. Dealer tried to tell me it overheated, however this is false, there was no white smoke and no other indications that the van had overheated. I wasn't able to add that the electrical in the vehicle is a problem. The radio and screen would just go blank at times.

I engaged the speed control (not adaptive speed control, also equipped on this car), and set my desired speed. I pressed and held the set+ button to increase speed, as demonstrated at 1:27 on this video https://youtu. Be/wrkcmnokynw from mopar for an older model of this vehicle. When I released the button, the car continued to accelerate. Pressing cancel or disabling speed control stopped the acceleration. This behavior is repeatable. I tested it several times on that drive cycle, and again on subsequent drive cycles.

Vehicle suddenly stops and shows the message "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon". Then the vehicle will lose all power and vehicle can crash with little prior warning when on the highway. This is very unsafe and a recall was performed on 1/17/2023 but the problem still persists over and over and is very unsafe. Once the warning happens about 2-5 seconds later the vehicle will shut-off and can crash when driving. This incident has happened several times and is not isolated to once.

Second incident of loss of motive power at 37352 miles on the odometer. Vehicle was traveling on freeway and suddenly displayed message, "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon. " accelerator pedal had no effect and vehicle began coasting. It was dangerous to coast across multiple lanes of freeway to reach an off-ramp with shoulder wide enough to stop the vehicle. We also had to make it over an incline while coasting and it may not have been possible to reach the shoulder or off-ramp. Prior to this incidence, the vehicle had been brought to a Chrysler dealership due to a previous occurrence at 36997 miles on the odometer. It was inspected by the Chrysler dealership and deemed to be operating normally.

On three separate days (2/27, 3/18, 3/29), the vehicle has shown a message saying “stop safely, vehicle will shut off soon”. The ability to accelerate is cut off. This has happened twice while on the highway, requiring a move across lanes to pull over safely due to loss of acceleration. After turning the car off, the car is able to turn back. The check engine light remains on for the next trip, but turns off on its own by the next day. This is a vehicle which was recently serviced for the following recalls: 1. Nhtsa 23v-010 (unexpected engine shut down) completed on 1/16 2. Fca campaign 47a (squealing serpentine belt) completed on 2/11.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. Additionally, the check engine and the stop and start warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that on the last occasion the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the battery was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was scheduled for a service appointment. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

As I was leaving my son's school parking lot - moments away from an on-ramp to a major freeway - an error message flashed on the dash saying "service charging system" followed by a message about the vehicle's speed being limited and a red turtle icon. The van instantly was driving strangely. Since I was in a parking lot, I turned everything off and waited for the van to shut down completely. I restarted the van and the warning messages were gone, but the check engine light remained. The van showed more than 15 miles of battery mileage remaining. The week prior, we had taken it into the dealership for the open recalls to be repaired, so we took it back for this issue. The dealership just messaged me saying the van is ready to be picked up and that the charging system was just low. But it still had nearly 1/2 the battery left when this happened! the dealership went on to say, "so here is the deal, we could not verify the concern at this time. There are no codes in the system, nothing to really test for. I can have someone drive it and see if anything happens, but without being able to duplicate your concern, we cannot diagnose it. " my sister-in-law had the exact same issue on her own Chrysler pacific hybrid just a few months ago, while she was on the freeway and her speed was instantly throttled. They replaced the entire electrical hybrid transmission. This is a known issue with this vehicle and it is going to put my life and my kid's life at risk since the dealership cannot reproduce the error. I even sent a picture of the error message, and they say there's nothing they can do.
