Adaptive Equipment Problems of Chrysler Pacifica

Sept 27, 2014. 3 days ago I was informed that the underside (engine crdle subframe) of my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica was seriously rotted. 3 mechanics agreed that I definitely avoid driving it any longer. Nbc news reported that this is a problem with at least 7000 Pacifica models. The car has barely 105k miles and is in otherwise excellent condition. VIN# is 2c8gf68484r557899. What may I expect in terms of assistance for repair costs? please let me know the date of manufacture for this VIN#. Nbc reported that models built between Feb 23 and Mar 31, 2004 are eligible for total repair cost assistance. However, assistance is supposedly not limited to these dates. Please advise as soon as you can what I should do to resolve this. Thx.

Just took my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica to my mechanic today, 08/19/2014, and found my undercarriage to be rusting. I was told that it would last only about 1 more year. Our Chrysler Pacifica only has about 109,000 miles on it. It is going to cost well over $3500. 00 to replace the undercarriage. I am a disabled veteran, and am on a fixed budget. These costs are taxing myself and my wife, and eating up our savings. We need help to find out if Chrysler would be willing to help us out with the cost of fixing our vehicle, or at least meeting us half way.

Discovered engine support has a rust through hole aproxx. 1 3/4 x 3/4. Also showing other areas of rust dammage. This auto is low milage & garage kept. Have photos with tapemeasure if desired.

Engine cradle is rusting out from inside frame out,popping large holes in the frame. Had to replace. Chrysler won't help at all with parts or cost.

Car will not take gas. Gas pump between tanks is not working properly to move the fuel from one side to the other, causing you to run out of gas frequently. It also is causing the mileage/computer/gas gague to indicate you have a half tank and then immediately drop to e and run out. This seems to be an issue with the mercedes designed fuel tank and should be recalled and replaced with a standard design. When on e your car will not take gas. Initially I was told to idle at the pump for 2-5 minutes. . . Now at 10 minutes, my car will not take gas and takes about 20-30 minutes to try to fill it. Very frustrated.

A follow up to earlier safety complaint. Just ordered a computer for the affected vehicle and while describing the problem to the tech was informed that it is a well known problem affecting not only my Pacifica but their town and country Mini van as well.

This vehicle has suffered through a wide variety of problems as outlined from online complaint boards. Today has started sudden acceleration while stopped at traffic lights almost taking me into traffic your investigation on these are closed but I never had satisfaction speaking to Chrysler officials and was informed by my dealer a couple of years ago that the vehicle was made by the ;old; company and the new company does not honor problems. What is disturbing is that a close inspection by me has revealed that the wiring harness going to the control computer was routed under the drivers side flexible motor mount and the harness has been damaged by the mount compressing this harness right on top of a bolt on the frame causing fraying of several control wires . The poor design has indeed created most of the problems with the vehicle and could cause wrecks and perhaps even deaths. Chrysler has informed me they do not accept suggestions from the public but for the safety of the citizens still driving these vehicles,I see a lot on the road, please contact them as to this problem which while not covered under their warranty should be as this flaw only shows up with mileage. The wiring harness has not been priced by me yet but if past experience is the guide Chrysler parts are significantly higher than competitors,even if the last 'genuine' part had product of south korea right on the box. The problem is poor design.

07/05/07 customer reported blower motor noisy, Chrysler checked and found blower motor noisy and replaced the blower motor. Cost to customer $179. 00. On 08/11/10 blower motor noisy on high speeds, Chrysler removed and replaced the blower motor. Cost to customer $256. 00. On 07/05/12 customer experiencing same problem with noisy blower motor. Will need to take vehicle to dealer to have blower motor replaced again.
