1 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/08/2021

I'm on my 3rd radio for the 2018 Pacifica that I bought new less than 2 years ago and the radio was not activated when it was installed on 1/8/21 therefore no emergency services will work. I have contacted the dealership multiple times without reply. I have contacted my uconnect case manager six times by email and left a voicemail. I have contacted the corporate webpage and was directed back to my case manager. Guardian services claim the radio is not associated with my VIN so there is nothing they can do. In addition to the 911 basic emergency services, I paid $250 in March for the enhanced guardian services, however since the initial radio failure in July, those services have not worked for any length of time. No one will take responsibility for this issue. If a cell phone provider has to overnight a phone due to liability in an emergency, shouldn't a vehicle manufacturer do something?.

3 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

I placed my vehicle in reverse to back out of a parking spot. The rear camera activated as normal. I completed backing out and placed the vehicle in drive. The rear camera did not disengage and remained on. I pulled the vehicle over into another parking space so as to examine the screen. There was an "x" in the upper right hand corner of the screen so I pushed the x as it is a touch screen. No joy. I turned the vehicle off and sat for about 3 minutes, then I restarted the vehicle. The rear camera was still in operation while I sat in park and the car idled. I attempted to power off the screen by depressing the radio power button, but it also yielded no results. I elected to drive the vehicle home as opposed to paying for a tow, and as I drove, the screen would transfer to a blue screen as I reached a certain speed, and then revert back to the camera view as I slowed below that speed. The speed variant was approximately 20 mph. As the blue screen appeared the words "rear camera not available at this time" appeared on the screen at the top. I again tried to press the "x" which appeared in the upper right hand corner to alleviate the situation to no avail. Upon returning home I exited the vehicle and proceeded to google recalls for 2018 Chrysler Pacifica's. I found that a recall was in place for just the experience I had with the camera. I contacted my local dealership who told me my VIN number reflects no recalls. I called Chrysler at 1-800-334-9200 and they too stated my vehicle has no recalls. I asked about the recall on the backup camera that I had read about and was advised that my vehicle did not qualify as it was a different radio in the car. It seems to me that this issue is now evident in all of their vehicles and should be covered under a recall, as it is a distinct distraction while trying to drive and may well cause an accident.

4 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/23/2020

Vehicle was purchased new in March 2019 off the showroom floor from a dealer in morton, IL. It had radio problems from the beginning and was noted on my first service visit 6/4/19. The radio would freeze on the loading screen and never operate. I was told to wait for software updates regardless of the amount of pictures and videos I showed the team members of what was going on with the radio freezing and rebooting, not to mention the WI-fi issues. Fast forward to July of this year and the whole radio and associated safety features went out. I was driving 1,000 miles from my new house in nc back to IL for a visit and 90 minutes into the drive the radio and climate controls all went out. I was then driving in the rain, in the mountains, without a way to defog my windshield. I'm very familiar will pulling the fuse to reset the radio (as noted in other service visits), but even that didn't fix it this time. For much of the drive I had heat instead of ac in the driver's area. Cameras were not functional during this time and the lane assist and cross traffic alert was intermittent. I arrived to central IL late at night on Thursday, July 23rd, now 600 miles outside the 36k warranty. I brought the vehicle in to pull codes on Friday, as instructed. I was told no one could help me at that point and to just come for my oil change on the 29th. On the 29th, my comment on the radio wasn't even acknowledge by the service rep and there are no notes on the service receipt about it. On Friday, August 28th, the radio started rebooting every 3 to 4 minutes. I have no use of safety features or cameras. The battery then died from rebooting the computers regardless of operation. Both sliding doors were disabled. The back hatch doesn't open at all. Uconnect safety location features were not working.

5 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/01/2020

On may 1, 2020, I brought my 2018 Chrysler pacific to the dealership for the vehicle to be repaired because of recall campaign 19v886000. It was supposed to be a simple update to the radio software. However, the entire radio malfunctioned when they attempted to update the software. The dealership said the entire radio needs to be replaced. They originally estimated it would take 3 to 5 days to receive a new radio. It is now June 18, 2020, seven weeks since I took my car in for the recall update, and the dealership and corporate Chrysler headquarters don't even have an eta on when a new radio will be available. I am concerned that they may not be able to fix my vehicle to meet the recall mandate and NHTSA's safety standards.

6 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/31/2019

U connect / radio / backup camera / temperature control system freezes causes lack of control of temperature controls, no backup camera no controls in the radio/attached systems. Operator must turn off vehicle and or complete a soft restart.

7 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 06/23/2019

A serious safety issue exists with electric sliding and raise/lower tail gate doors. This is my third Chrysler pacific, 2014, 2017, and now 2019. On this 2019, it does have one door, the driver side slider, that has a warning buzzer if left open when the vehicle drive is engaged, and only when the vehicle attempts to move in reverse. That warning does not exist if the vehicle is driven forward and it does not exist at all for the passenger side slider. So many times, we inadvertently and unknowingly drive off with sliders open and/or tail gate open. This is a serious design flaw with the danger of items unknowingly falling out while traveling. It is possible that children or animals could fall out. The vehicle should never be able to be driven if either slider is open. Nor should the car be able to be driven with the tail gate door open. While there could be an occasion with the customer might intentionally need to have the tail door open to accommodate and over-length item, there should be a by-pass switch with a continuously lit warning light on the dash. To combat driving with the tailgate door open, we have placed several narrow vertical strips of take on the back window to alert the driver. Without that tape it is almost impossible for the driver to be aware of the open tailgate. This is extremely dangerous and annoying. Typically, if the close button is pressed to lower the tail gate door or the sliders to, if the door encounters some object as it is closing, it will retract to the fully open position without the drivers knowledge. This should be totally unacceptable.

8 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

9 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/31/2019

The radio does not hold any presets after you change drivers. So when driver one(1) has the seat, mirrors, radio, etc set for them all they have to do is press "1" when they get in, and "2" is presently set. It should hold so we don't have to go through it every time you get in. This is not what happens, I have to reset things because it is lost and goes back to factory settings. Chrysler knows about this problem and they have no fix. I would like my computer system replaced to fix this problem. They said I have to wait for an update, this is not something I should have to live with.

10 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/08/2019

The hands-free and bluetooth feature of my radio stopped working 3 months ago. I have been in to Chrysler service in fort collins five times to have it fixed. The last time was two weeks ago and they said they were going to just order a new radio. I still haven't heard anything from them. The service manager, bob lee, says it's Chrysler's fault. I just want this thing fixed. 3 months is just ridiculous. This is as much a safety problem as it is an inconvenience.

11 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/28/2019

When I bought my Pacifica the audio used to go loud and soft. The next thing that happened was the fm would flip to am and the radio stations would change, u-conect would call the last person I had called the day before, and flip to climate control. Then, it started stalling out at intersections, a clear and pleasant danger!!! the car was sitting at a light waiting to turn one time and going straight the other time. Both times it had to be restarted, holding up traffic. I am now concerned this will happen while in motion. Others on facebook have said this has also this happened to them and Chrysler knows about it, but can't do anything about it because they don't have a fix for it. I have had my car into the dealer three times now.

12 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 06/22/2018

While operating the vehicle at a low speed (10-15 mph) and making a left hand turn the vehicle lost power, including steering, and acceleration. The radio and accessories were still working. All the gear shift lights were flashing and a beeping noise occurred. On the dash a display said "change gears to start". I tried neutral and other gears, before going back to drive and it didn't do anything. I placed the car in park and it got stuck in park. I couldn't change the gear after that. I then pressed the on/off start button and it restarted and powered up the engine and I was able to drive the car home. I immediately called the dealership and left a voicemail. The first appointment available was June 27th, 2018 at 0830. The customer service rep said there was no log/warning or notification related to this issue. I contacted Chrysler corp customer care at 1101 on June 27th, 2018 to notify them of the issue and that the dealership couldn't find anything wrong. Chrysler corp customer care representative advised me to file a complaint with NHTSA and to ensure dealership files a star case. I then re-contacted the dealership at 1112 on June 27th, 2018 and advised them we wanted to open a star case. The car goes back to the dealership on Tuesday July 3rd, and they will keep it and try and re-simulate the issue while we have a loner car.

13 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 03/01/2018

Leased a new Pacifica a few months ago. Around the end of February the vehicle stalled while parked. Then while starting up the vehicle in March the vehicle information system screen shut off for no reason, this included sensors, back up cameras , nav , climate, radio etc.

14 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/19/2018

I was driving straight on a 25 mph on a city street. Within several seconds, my radio, dash lights and engine shut down and the car came to a complete stop. I could not turn my hazard lights on. After several attempts I was able to restart the car and drive it normally.

15 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 02/05/2018

Transmission shifts very hard coming out of first. Sometimes when the transmission shifts hard it throws a emergency brake, which causes the vehicle to stop. No matter at a 20 mph or 50mph. Not a safe vehicle for a family. Sliding doors will lock up at times and will not open or shut. Also, the navigation screen rather it's the radio, nav, air shuts completely down/freezes up along with the tvs at times.

16 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/04/2017

Infotainment screen freezes and/or jumps around and will not let the user change temperature controls, adjust radio functions, allow hands-free calls, or accept any inputs at all. This creates a distracting and extremely frustrating experience with absolutely no way to control the system. This issue has been present since purchasing the vehicle in march2017. Even after notifying fca about the issue through the dealer, uconnect web customer service portal, and Chrysler cares contacts it is still unresolved. A software update releases in late sept 2017 failed to correct the issue.

17 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

After following given instructions my radio uconnect system has become nonfunctional I have been told by the manufacturer I have to wait for an update or a fix. It has been almost 2 weeks already.

19 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/30/2009

My 06 Chrysler pacific shuts down without warning the lights flash spontaneously a chime or bell sound goes off and there is a popping sound that comes from the speakers. This occurs several times a day. I've contacted a Chrysler dealership about this problem and was told there was no recall on the car. I've researched these issues and found that this complaint is common among numerous Chrysler Pacifica owners. I am not in a position to purchase another vehicle and I haven't owned this one a year. Problem began after owning the vehicle only 4 months.

21 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/07/2004

I noticed a strange odor when I drove the car from the lot. I thought it was the new the leather smell, but later found out that the driver's side of the car was leaking. I took it to the dealer and they attempted to fix the leak four (4) time. It still is not fixed. Now other things are starting to happen, the passengers power seat no longer reclines, the radio will just quit working and so does the a/c.
