2018 Chrysler Pacifica t, uconnect infotainment system shuts off and reboots every 2-3 minutes while driving. It is available for inspection upon request. When the uconnect shuts down driver loses all features connected to the system to include: gps/navigation, blue tooth, in-cabin climate controls, and back up camera. This causes the driver to become distracted in order to re-synch phone, dvd player, navigation. Additionally, my wife almost backed over a 6 year old child because the back up camera shut off when backing up from a parking spot. There is an incredible risk of injury/death with this systems failure. The issue has not been reproduced by the manufacturer (fca), dealer or independent service center. This issue is being addressed by class action lawsuit: case 2:20-cv-11838-sfc-rsw ecf no. 1 filed 07/07/20 the vehicle was inspected by the state of maryland. The vehicle is now at the dealership for diagnosis and I have to pay all expenses out-of-pocket. No warning indicators.

Gps does not show accurate location. Gps location is showing vehicle location is 100s of miles from the actual location. This makes gps unusable, and other vehicle functions that require the vehicles location to be unusable as well. There are extensive documented reports of this incident online.
Gps not working. It shows that I am in the pacific ocean when I am in the mid west.
After waiting at the Chrysler dealer for 6 hours on 3/3/20, the service department was unable to complete the update of the radio software and thereby was unable to remedy the safety recall upload for the rear camera issue under ve2?NHTSA 19v-886. The percentages of completion were 92% and 50%. Dealership said they have had problems with the update and in many cases the radio system and speakers were blown out during their attempt to update the software. As a result, the dealer said it may be better to avoid trying the update again, unless the problem of the recall occurs. This dealer position is due to their claim that the radio and speaker system could blow out and it would take several months for radio/speakers to be repaired. Also, the dealer explained in the event that the radio/speakers would blow out, the 8. 4" screen would not show any information, such as relating to the gps and/or the rear view when backing up. So, the update to remedy the recall had failed. Note: the repair dealer is reedman toll, which is different from the dealer where I purchased the van in maryland.

There have been no map updates to the built-in gps navigation system in two years. With constantly changing roads, regular map updates are vital. The lack of map updates is a dangerous safety issue, as the built-in gps navigation system cannot be relied upon. I have monitored the official Chrysler source for map updates, and there have been none. Numerous telephone calls to Chrysler have confirmed that there are no map updates available, and no prediction as to when or if such updates will ever be available.
Since December 2018, we had to replace the battery 3 times since the vehicle shut off while driving on the highway. There was smoke smell coming from the engine. The vehicle was towed and problems corrected, but the engine light has been coming on more than 3 occasions. The gps system has not been working since March 2020, but they are not able to fix the issues. Our local dealership says that Chrysler has not responded to their multiple requests for the radio replacement.
Since we purchased the vehicle 3 months ago, dealer hasn't been able to correct problems with bluetooth connectivity memory and gps memory. They've replaced the radio once but that didn't correct issues. Per dealership, Chrysler has radio restriction so they don't know when another might be available. Seems more of a software issue that they don't seem to know how to correct.
