Failure Date: 02/10/2010

Extreme oil consumption have to put an xtra bottle of oil in every other week. . . Dealership told me nothing they can do and its common on every Pacifica. . . / abs sensor problems -light kept turning on randomly and brakes fluttering randomly when trying to stop/ faulty engine temperature sensor- car overheated several times causing major smoke to billow out of hood had to replace sensor/ tie rod replacement before 40k miles/ now gas pedal sticking along with separate terrible engine noises-- sounds like struggling and making a hollow sound as if you are blowing into an empty glass bottle. . No one can tell me what is causing it or how to fix it. . Nothing but a money pit with one problem after another! very upset that Chrysler is getting away with this while we all suffer and keep throwing our hard earned money out the window!.

7 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2008 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/27/2010

2008 Chrysler with 12,100 miles on odometer experienced a second breakdown for the same lower radiator hose failure. Original NHTSA complaint odi number 10286512. Lower radiator hose originally failed at 6,200 miles due to hose rubbing against engine, causing hose to burst. Hose was replaced under warranty in October 2009. In January 2010, at approximately 12,100 miles, lower radiator burst again, for same reason. Chrysler dealership indicated that replacement hose was also installed incorrectly, and that hose was found to be rubbing against fan shroud, causing failure. This is now second repair/replacement for same hose in 12,000 miles (7 months).

8 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2008 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/02/2009

Relatively new SUV (2008 Chrysler Pacifica) with approximately 6,000 miles experienced a breakdown caused by the engine overheating on interstate 95 in maine while on a trip. After being towed to a local Chrysler dealer, it was determined that the lower radiator hose had failed due to probable incorrect installation at time of manufacture. The radiator hose was found to have a hole in it which caused the loss of coolant and subsequent overheating. This hole apparently was caused by the hose rubbing up against a part of the engine, causing it to wear and brake prematurely.

9 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 04/07/2009

A/c blower cuts off after running for 5 minutes. Air flow almost non-existent. Took to dealer. They said that the sensor for the ac was placed in the wrong position. Manager said he called Chrysler and they said there was nothing they could do. Manager said it could not be fixed. Ac freezes up. Could possibly catch on fire if overheats too much. Started doing this about 3 weeks ago. I have had the car since July 2007.

Failure Date: 09/08/2004

1. 2005 Chrysler Pacifica rented by enterprise rental (odometer - 1,000 miles) 2. Drove the rental off location - 1 mile away smoke came from under the hood. 3. Thermostat went up and chime activated. 4. Was at our home office where our asc master certified mechanic looked under the hood. 5. The pressure hose coming from the radiator to the recyler bottle was not in tact. Not clamped. Secured with a metal clamp and fused the system to regain fluid. Went back to enterprise and noted that this could have caused engine failure bad the normal prudent person were to operate this vehicle. After furhter review they had another neew Pacifica on thier lot. They- the manufacturer are using plastic clips on a hose that is under extreme heat and pressure. This should be watched as a TSB or if other occurance have already occurred.
