I have had two Pacificas 2004 and 2005 both did the exact same thing. Started with an odor of exhaust or fumes of some sort in the same week. It lost power, overheated, had to pulled home. Would start if cold for short period of time. In less than the same week. Went to have someone work on it and the battery was dead where I had tried to start it to many times/ my fault. However as soon as it got connection the key wasnt even in the switch and the motor was rolling over. That one sat at that time. Found 05 within a week or two and figured one for parts if break down. Nothing at all wrong starting out. Only drove the 05 apprx 3months and started the exact same thing from odor to overheating and I do not know alot about vehicles but seems to have jumped time. However I am a single woman and do not carry a license mechanic and im now stranded with no vehicle to get around while I have two Pacificas seem same issues just drove one a little longer. I may be rough on thing but exact problems seems to be a malfunction on ur part. . . . . . . . VIN to other one2c8gf68414r644267. . . And I do not have invoices because I cant afford to get them fixed. I have my titles and sale prices and only few months of owning. So I just expect to at least see if its Chryslers problem.

I bought this vehicle under the impression it needed a motor mount to find out that the sub frame is rotten to the point it's a safety issue to drive. The rest of the details may not be of interest to you but I am the surviving spouse of a deceased veteran and mother of his two children. I've been struggling to recuperate since their father's death and heaven unable to do to the pandemic that's what I was about to my daily drivers engine seized and I exhausted all my resources buying this vehicle that is now deemed unsafe any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Took vehicle in for exhaust repair. When hoisted up the mechanic informed me of engine cradle rot. He said the drip hose is dripping onto the engine cradle. Called Chrysler custome assistance, they sent me to roseville Chrysler in roseville, mi for inspection, under case #32879012. Service advisor bryan collins told me the same thing engine cradle rot due to drip hose dripping on engine cradle. Chrysler customer assistance said no recall on vehilcle and it is out of warrenty. My responsibility for repair. I explained that it was an enginering design error and the drip hose should have been long enough to route it past the engine cradle.

We have had multiple issues with this vehicle. Around 60,000 miles the car died several times which was fixed. Then 2/11/2013 the car had a problem with I believe was the fuel line. Car would act like it was going to die and smoking like crazy when pressed gas, smelled like gas. . We got it to the dealer service and the fixed it - cost $1100. 3 weeks later while getting onto a freeway in traffic, I pressed the gas to accelerate, heard a bang like something blew up in the engine, car was smoking in the exhaust and the immediately died. It was towed to the dealer where we were later informed a rod had come loose and put a gash in the engine and oil pan. Called it a catastrophic failure and only fixed at enormous cost. Car dead at 82,625 miles. 5 years old. If this "rod" would have broke loose any other time or while driving faster in middle lane, we could have been killed, since it was rush hour. I had 2 young kids with me at the time. Chrysler is putting lives at risk with faulty products. Purchased brand new, maintained and did all required maintenance through dealer. Had to purchase new car, not a Chrysler.

We purchased a used 2005 Pacifica in 2009. It has gone through 3 catalytic converters, 6 oxygen sensors and the dealership says it needs to be done again. The gas pedal sticks requiring one to stomp on it to get it to go down sometimes. Big safety concern. It has lost it's power steering and acted like it was going to die on four occassions when turning shortly after being started. We owe twice what this car is worth and have no idea what we are going to do. It goes through oil like mad too. The dealership says that's normal. A quart every other week is not normal. The tailpipe is black. The dealership says they don't know what to do unless they continue replacing the 1000 dollar parts. There has been no word from Chrysler so far. I spoke to a friend of the family who teaches car repair and he said there is obviously a serious engine problem.
I have a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica that emits a strong natural gas smell. The problem started 3 days ago (2/20/10). I went to the Chrysler dealership today to fix the problem. They confirmed the smell of natural gas, but could not offer a solution to the problem. They drove the car and upon braking and acceleration the fumes were emitted. The Chrysler mechanics said that they could not find anything mechanical that would cause the smell. ¿ my lungs hurt and my nerves are really getting bad! just by driving around trying to find someone who can fix it! I drive with the windows down and im still affected by the fumes. We just had a snow storm and im freezing in my car, trying to breathe! I live in detroit, we are the hardest hit by this recession and I need a car to keep my job! I have to travel to my customers. I dont have another vehicle, nor can I afford one. Please help.
In oct/07 we bought a 07 Chrysler Pacifica & a maximum care diamlerchrysler service contract from darcars Chrysler of fairfax. In Feb/09 darcars performed oil/filter change services. In Apr/09 the Pacifica began smoking from the exhaust at start up, running low on oil, & making engine noise & sputtering during operation. In may/09 we told darcars the Pacifica was smoking from the exhaust at start up, running low on oil, & making engine noise & sputtering during operation. Darcars said they were unable to duplicate the concern, changed the oil/filter, rotated tires, & did a 16 point vehicle check up. In Jun/09 we told darcars the Pacifica continued to smoke from the exhaust at start up, run low on oil, & make engine noise & sputter during operation. Darcars said they we unable to duplicate the concern & made no repairs. In sept/09 the Pacifica suddenly became inoperable while driving 40mph in rush hour traffic. We towed the Pacifica to darcars & told them the Pacifica continued to smoke from the exhaust at start up, run low on oil, make engine noise & sputter during operation, & suddenly became inoperable while going 40mph in rush hour traffic. In oct/09 darcars documented sludge in the engine, recommended a tear down for further diagnosis, & later informed us their recommendation was denied by our maximum care diamlerchrysler service contract due to lack of proper maintenance. We try to contact our maximum care diamlerchrysler service contract decision maker seeking clarification about how they deny protection due to lack of proper maintenance without seeing the Pacifica or speaking to their customer. We never get further than the initial operator. The dealer finds a problem & our maximum care diamlerchrysler service contract will not attempt to find the cause, thus, leaving us unprotected. Feeling victimized, abandoned, & confused we seek concern resolution direction.
Own a 2005 Pacifica. . It has 75000 miles on it. It has 4 bad engine mounts. Dealer states "they see alot for this particular model and it is normal. " I do not think it is normal that mounts that hold up the engine could fail.
2006 Chrysler Pacifica: uses a quart of oil every 1000 miles, ongoing since purchase with 35,000 miles, current mileage 49,300 their are no leaks nor have their been any, no smoke from exhaust either.
Oil consumption problem with 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. My 2006 Pacifica has 38000 miles on it and I am experiencing issues with oil consumption. I was told by the dealership that Chrysler corporation believes it is 'acceptable' that a car with under 50,000 miles burns approximately 1 quart of oil per 1000 miles! this is absurd if you ask me! how can this be acceptable ? another problem is that I've read from other blogs is that Chrysler does not feel that this is an issue that warrants further investigation and many times, the underlying issue for the poor oil consumption is not found until a major problem occurs with the engine, and the car's warranty has expired, leaving the consumer to suffer the consequences! this is not only bad business but has to be bad for the environment, if a car is 'burning' oil that fast, where is it going? no wonder the world is suffering from global warming if automakers like Chrysler and Ford find that burning oil this fast is acceptable!! please help! I know this must be a widespread issue. I've read many on-line comments of consumer suffering from this same problem with Chrysler pt cruisers, Pacificas, and others!.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving approximately 70 mph on normal road conditions, the engine stalled unexpectedly. The engine restarted and resumed normal operation. On a separate occassion, when the engine restarted, the contact noticed an excessive amount of white smoke and fumes coming from the exhaust. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing, but they could not duplicate the failures. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on a separate occasion for the same failures, but there was no resolution. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were unavailable. Updated 04/15/09. Updated 04/16/09.
My Chrysler Pacifica 06 has a lifter problem and have heard of other Pacifica's with the same issue. Believe a recall should be issued on this and Chrysler is refusing.
The first incident occurred a few weeks after we purchased the vehicle, I noticed rust/pit marks all over the exhaust system (under warranty completely replaced). The second incident occurred when I continued to notice the driver side floor was wet after rain or a car wash. Front windshield gasket needed to be replaced (under warranty repaired). The third incident the car was shifting hard brought it in was told it's normal no problem found. Fourth incident the car continued to shift hard, brought it in again and was told the motor mounts were broken (under warranty replaced). Fifth incident noticed the rear bumper fading compared to the other bumpers. Told it did not have the proper sealer on it (under warranty repaired). Sixth incident, noticed left rear molding panel loose. Found clip to fasten the molding was broken and defective, (under warranty replaced). Seventh incident, noticed the right rear molding panel loose. Found clip to fasten the molding was broken and defective, (under warranty replaced). All this with less than 30,000 miles. Thank god for the warranty.
