1 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/17/2022

My 2017 Chrysler Pacifica started leaking oil at 69000 miles . I notified Chrysler and was told to take the vehicle to a Chrysler dealer and they will check it out , they did, and found the engine oil cooler leaking oil. This is a very big safety hazard because the engine can run out of oil and seize up an expressway driving 65 mph and cause death or other serious injury. No vehicle should every leak oil at only 69000 miles, this is a safety defect and all 3. 6 Chrysler engine should be recalled. I had to pay 969. 00 to repair my vehicle. Please investigate this problem. Sincerely, james montgomery.

As it would seem is a very common problem, the oil pressure sending unit has failed and leaks oil on and into the harness plug. Upon researching this issue this seems to be a very common issue with this particular vehicle and can present both a costly fix and a fire hazard. While driving the oil pressure warning indicator light illuminated indicating an issue with the vehicle's oil pressure. Upon taking it to the shop ot was discovered that the oil pressure sending unit had failed and was leaking oil into and on the harness plug. The vehicle is scheduled for repair tomorrow.

3 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/06/2013

We have a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica that we purchased used in 2008 with 26k miles. In 2011 we started experience problems. Simultaneously, we came up with codes p0700, p0420 and p0456 and have had to have the transmission rebuilt , the catalyst converter replaced and new fuel pump due to the evap leak. In a matter of months, we spent $5,900 on repairs and in order for the car to pass inspection. We were still making payments on this car and after contacting Chrysler repeatedly, we were told that they would not be responsible, so we were forced to make these repairs. After further research, we found that many Pacificas had many of the same problems that we were experiencing and that Chrysler refused to acknowledge the issues. We have had electrical problems with the power seats, bluetooth , side view mirrors. The electrical system shortens the life of the battery and we have had to replace the battery prematurely several times. Now we need an abs sensor, and the car leaks in through the front window seals on both sides when it rains. We have just found out when we had the car in for a routine oil change, that our engine cradle(sub frame) is rusted and is a hazard to drive and will cost approximately $2,500 to replace! we just made our last payment on this car as we found this information out. We have also found out that many Pacificas have this rusting problem and Chrysler did acknowledge this for 2004 & 2005 models but not after. We are aware that there is a class action suit and want to be sure that the ntsa is aware of this. This is a family car and there may be many unsuspecting Pacifica owners and their families out there who are at risk of injury or possibly loss of life. We feel that Chrysler needs to warn all owners and implore them to have them bring their Pacificas to the dealership free of charge to have it inspected and repaired for this hazardous issue.

4 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/30/2010

My Chrysler Pacifica 2007 awd with a 4. 0 engine uses excessive oil. I did not know this. Due to the car using oil-no leaking, I nearly blew my engine. My oil light came on too late with only about 1 qt of oil remaining. Since I bought the car a year old and it is past 36000 miles, I am stuck with repairs due to a faulty engine. The car is at the mechanic who said it has metal in the oil from the ordeal and may need the whole engine replaced or rebuilt. This may cost 1/2 what the car is worth and I still owe payments for 4 more years. I have checked online forums and this is a common problem with the awd models, especially built in canada like mine. Chrysler needs to be held responsible for these repairs. This is $40k vehicle. At the very least the engine should last more than 5 years. My car is only 3 years old and I'm stuck with bills I can't afford or paying payments on a car I can't drive.

5 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 03/01/2006

2005 Chrysler Pacifica noticed loud engine tapping after a couple thousand miles after purchase. Checked oil and it was about 2. 5 quarts low. I had the oil changed, all was fine. . Drove another 2000 miles, checked oil and 2 quarts low again. Had a dealership look into it and they said they found no leaks. Was told 2 quarts in 2000 miles is not normal. They said it would cost me $2000 to tear into the engine and find the problem. I guess I should top off the oil and trade it in.
