The engine shuts off while driving causing the vehicle to come to a sudden stop because of loss of power. The vehicle had to be changed to park before it could be started. This issue happened would happen on a full tank of gas and continuously until the fuel level was ran down.
Engine shut off while driving at approx. 25mph on a snow covered street in the dark. Lost all power and electrical systems and was stranded in middle of street with traffic all around. Engine restarted after a number of attempts. Vehicle had previously been updated with recall to address this issue in January of 2017 (u01/NHTSA 18v-049). Contacted Chrysler and was told they are aware of the issue and expect another software recall to be ready in April. They requested the vehicle be taken out of service and provided an rental car until update will be made available.
The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. While the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, the check engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle shut off. After a few minutes, the vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing and repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 300.
Car shut off with the "put car in park and restart" message. It took 2 attempts to restart. Car has only 795 miles on it. When the car shuts off there is no power steering creating a very dangerous situation. The car was stopped at a traffic light when this happened with the fuel saver option set to the off position.

On 12/13/17, the car engine shut off and the car stalled while idle at an intersection. The lights were still on, but the car could not be shifted out of great and the breaks locked up. The car was essentially frozen. We called aaa and the mechanic was able to get the car to start. We took it to the dealership but they have not been able to locate the problem.
Car shut off during driving and told me to shift into park and then restarted and took off fast for a few feet.
I was driving on the highway with congested traffic at around 10mph. Without any prior alert, the engine shut off by itself and the vehicle lost its power. I had to turn the transmission to p from d and restart the vehicle.
Vehicle shuts off at stop lights/signs. This has happened three times while stationary. Had to place transmission in park and restart.
The engine shuts off while driving. Display says engine start/stop unavailable. Engine wont restart until start/stop system is available again. Engine shuts off randomly, even at highway speeds. Did it on the highway, going down city streets at 30mph, and even did it backing out of the driveway.
On 2 different occasions our Chrysler Pacifica has "stalled out" while we were driving. Both instances occured while we were on a hill. The first was pulling up into a driveway after the vehicle was stopped and we tried to pull forward. The second happened when we were on the road at a stop sign facing uphill. As we started to try and drive forward from the stop sign, the engine shut off. In both instances, the car had to put in park and restarted. We have only had the vehicle a little over two monthsand there were less then 2,000 miles on the vehicle.
Engine shut off without warning while decelerating for a stop sign on a slight uphill grade, a block after turning onto a side street. There was no drama; it just shut off. The instrument cluster displayed a message with instructions to shift to park before pressing the start button. The vehicle was driven approximately 5 miles over the span of 10 minutes beforehand, at both city and highway speeds. The speed before braking for the stop sign was under 20 mph, as it was maybe 100 feet up the block after a turn. After putting the vehicle in park, the engine was able to be restarted and the vehicle driven normally, with no indication that anything had happened.
The car shut off while I was driving. I had to come to a complete stop and the put the car in park to restart. Luckily I was on a small road and only going about 15mph.
2017 Pacifica touring-l engine shutdown completely when driving at about 35-40 mph on a city street when I slowed down from 45 mph. The van is less than a year old and has about 10000 miles on it. Screen displayed message 'shift to park and restart vehicle'. I tried restarting without stopping the car as there were cars behind me and I saw the message "too fast to shift to park" and the power steering was also cut off because it is electronic. I had to park on the shoulder and restart after a complete stop. Contacted my Chrysler dealer and he told me that unless there is a code no diagnosis is possible. I've dropped my car today morning - no updates as yet.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. While the vehicle was stopped on an incline, the engine shut off. As the contact attempted to release the brake pedal, the vehicle rolled backwards without warning. The contact also stated that the vehicle shut off in the middle of traffic. The vehicle was taken to Chrysler Jeep Dodge city of mckinney (972-569-9650, located at 700 s central expy, mckinney, TX 75070) where no failures were found with the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. The VIN was not provided.
Engine shut down with no warning at 15,197 miles while pulling off the free-way. Had vehicle serviced at dealer and they replaced part number 68277373af with new part number 68303489am and flashed new part. At 16,068 miles engine shut down again while traveling down city street. Returned to dealer and was told no issue was recorded on the vehicle module of the shut down. They kept it several days and still don't have an answer as to why it shut down. So far it has only shut down when I have been on a city street. I'm very concerned as to what will happen if this happens on the highway. The vehicle has to be put in park to restart. Please recall before someone gets seriously injured on the highway.
I reported this issue to my dealer 8/21/17 and have the email chain saved. The dealer couldn't replicate the issue. While driving 60-70 mph on 5 lane highway, engine shut down. Luckily, I was in the far right hand lane and was able to muscle my vehicle over to the burm (there was no power steering). Message on dash said shift to p to park or something like that. My vehicle was in drive and I couldn't shift it to park. Eventually it began working. I have 6 kids and don't feel safe driving them in the vehicle. Happened a few thousand miles ago; vehicle currently has 10,500 miles. Hasn't happened again, but have to consider the possibility it could. Have also dealt with thumping under the driver side floor, a new pause between park or reverse and shifting to drive, and the vehicle recently got stuck in a gear while driving. I've also had the a/c compressor replaced, ambient temperature gauge replaced, dvd player replaced, and am waiting for the new radio to arrive, among other issues. My vehicle is a lemon in my opinion.
So many things are defective about this vehicle. Yesterday the engine shut off while I was driving!.
Vehicle shutdown: as I approached a yield sign on a subdivison street, I slowed to a few mph before accelerating slowly again. The vehicle then lost power and steering (it shutdown). I looked at my dash and it read "vehicle must be in park to start. " I applied the brake and stopped without being able to steer. I then turned the gear knob to park and restarted the vehicle and went on my way. I am thankful their was no traffic as this could have resulted in a serious accident.
Car shut down while in drive, 5300 current miles. I was driving in heavy traffic in nyc and car shut down, earlier in the day I was at a dealership in safford va and they performed software updates because the day before in florida windows opened and closed on their own in the front passenger side, cluster panel went on and off and battery light came on. Battery maintained its 14 amp charge for the next 90 miles I needed to reach autotrain in sanford florida. I immiediately went to service in safford virginia and they said it was an up[date issue. Drove the next 260 miles with no issue until it shut off????.
Vehicle shut off while driving down the road. Happened twice since owning the vehicle 7/15/17 & 9/9/17. Vehicle dashboard said "stop and shift to park". We took to dealership and they said they couldn't replicate program.
While driving at 45 mph, vehicle shuts off without warning. Very dangerous as the car needs to come to a stop to restart. I was merging onto a highway which made matters worse. Van did a similar thing earlier in the daybut I was in park. Just shut off, no warning. At dealership now.
My Pacifica has been stalling out when I back out or pull forward at times. Several times when it had been idling the car shut off. The car has started up on it own several times with no one in the car.
My vehicle stalls when remaining still, or if driving it will just shut off. Turning left around a round about it will shut off. Recently when stopped it will idle high then sputter as if it wants to shut off, sometimes it does. I know there has been a recall for vehicles made up to the date November 2004. Mine was manufactured may 2005, should that make a difference even though mine was manufactured one year later and still can have the same problem? just a note, I have young kids in my car. Another problem is the engine, in researching I notices that there have been a lot of complaints about rusting engine mounts or breaking of engine mounts. As may complaints that I have read, I believe that there should be a recall. I have an engine mount that is rusted and worn out. For the safety of all the 900 and something complaints in forums, I believe this should be fixed. I also believe that my 2006 Pacifica should be in the stalling recall notice and be fixed also. One year apart should not be judged in a issues. This happens a lot an many dates, but I can only put one.

While driving, sometimes without warning, the car loses power(engine shuts off) the radio, heater/ac still work but no power from the engine. Sometimes the wheel and brakes lock up and I can barely get it off the road. Other times, I can pop it into neutral while driving and restart it. It's very scary and I have 3 kids in the car with me daily. It happens at random times, whether I just pull out or have driven several miles. It has happened driving slow and at faster speeds. It has been looked at by a certified Chrysler dealer. They drove it until it happened to them and don't know what is causing it. This happens at least once, sometimes twice everyday.

My daughter gave me this car for my birthday in 2007 with a red bow on it. I was very surprise. After the first 6 months I began having problems. The problem I am having now is something that was repaired before. I had this issue about 3 years ago. While I am driving, the car just shut off, stalling in the middle of the traffic. The steering becomes very hard. Many times I was in fear of an accident many times. I am disappointed with this car.

The SUV shuts of while moving. While we are driving (in motion) the SUV will completely shut off and we have to restart it by placing it in neutral and turning the key. We have reported it to Chrysler 3 times and we have spent $900 to fix the problem but it just happened again 2 days after we picked it up from the dealership. All repairs for this SUV were done by the dealership over the life of the SUV. We were told that the SUV has not duplicated the problem while in the dealership while being repaired and they have said that the vehicle was driven over 100 miles by them without shutting off. If this is true, why did it shut off while my family was driving it 2 days after we picked it up. They are not telling the truth. We do not want to take the car back to the dealership for a 4th time for this problem until we find out what can be done. The truck is in great shape besides this problem that is extremely dangerous and scary when it happens. This is a serious safety issue. There have been other incidents of this very problem with Chryslers as well.
My vehicle shuts off while driving no codes.
The vehicle shuts off while driving. This has occurred six times since February 1, 2014 (a period of about seven weeks). Each time I have been lucky enough to guide the vehicle off to the side of the road, in spite of the loss of steering and braking. The vehicle restarted with no major problem each time. Also, the engine spontaneously revved as the vehicle lost forward momentum on one occasion (on a date preceding the fifth shutoff event), but regained normal operation within seconds. On that occasion I took the vehicle immediately to the dealer for analysis; they updated a computer module. The shutoff has occurred twice since the dealer fixed the computer component. All events occurred within two to five minutes of driving the car after it had been sitting for several hours (cold start?). My research shows that this is a frequently reported problem with the 2007 Pacifica, and that the vehicle was recalled for the problem in model years 2004 - 2006. I provided a printout of my research to the dealer, and they have had the vehicle for five business days without being able to reproduce the problem. I reported the problem by phone to Chrysler, but their complaint line does not offer solutions (and apparently does not provide feedback).
The vehicle shuts off while driving at low speeds mostly it happens when going around curves. I took it to the dealership they were not able to find any problems with it they just said they could replace the 2 fuel pumps for $900 but could not guarantee that would fix the problem. I did not have the pumps changed. When the vehicle shuts off loss of power assist steering is lost and power assist brakes making it dangerous to navigate to a stop to restart it.
Car kept shutting down regardless of speed. Chrysler sent specialist to deflect ship and replaced fuel pumps. Vehicle continued to shut down while driving. Attempted to drive to an independent mechanic, but crashed on the way. Car shut down on a curve, steering failed, brakes locked he hit a tree. This accident could've been a fatality. Car was totaled! Chrysler is not assuming any responsibility and closed the case. I will never buy another one!!!!.
Driving at <15mph and at >45mph speeds the whole car shuts off. No engine lights no warning just cuts off. Still continuing the issue has been looked at and since no lights are on they cant find it. I haul my 3 granddaughters in this car and the safety worries me about it.
Vehicle shuts completely off during drive at least twice per day. Mechanic was unable to duplicate problem. This happens at both high and low speeds around town and on the highway. Oil light turns on and all power is lost. Struggle to steer or apply brakes once it shuts down. This began over a year ago and has gotten worse as the time has gone by.
Car cuts back and cut off while driving and when you slow down and in part not safe to drive took it to the Chrysler dealership 3times shows no codes not light are on at all reported it to bbb and the person that sold it to me and told them about it at Chrysler dealership about it took it to advance auto parts no codes this car is not safe at this point drive at 35 or 45 less cut off or cut back some time when turning on to another road drive it at 60 cut back at 55 cut back park in drive way for it to heat up cuts off no one seen to know what is going on go on the ramp on 95 in richmond va cut off hard to turn wheel when it shut off tonight I went to the store cut off 2 time at the store and I have also reported it to the recall center and also to Chrysler center I got this car in oct of 2012 have to problem this I have 3 kids that rides in this car and myself and my mom please help me this is very stressful I do not want us to get hurt in this car I also ask s and f to give me another car I left this car at the Chrysler dealership over night it cost me 134 dollar to rent a car this is costing me .

Engine stalls / shuts off at low speed - this has occurred 18 times since and seems to be getting progressively worse. Now it is occurring at higher speeds (50mph) when turning around bends. Loss of power steering contributes to the problem. The interior power remains on while a oil display light flashes. Once stopped the vehicle will restart and no further problem is detected. These types of stalling problems occur intermittently. The same sort of scenario happens every time the engine shuts off (stalls).
