36 Power Train problem of the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/16/2025

While driving down the highway at 70 miles per hour ater driving 2. 5 hours our 2021 Pacifica hybrid minivan flashed a warning on the vehicles display saying approximately "warning engine shutting down". The engine immediately shut down in the middle of the highway and we were forced to coast off the highway to the shoulder. The engine warning light came on. We turned the car off for a few minutes and proceeded to start the engine. The engine warning light was still on, but the other message was gone. We attempted to drive towards our destination and approximately 30 minutes later the same thing happened again. We tried one more time since we were several hours from home and within 30 minutes the vehicle had the same issue. At that point we decided to try to get home. We drove the vehicle 15-20 mins at a time and then exited the highway over and over giving the vehicle time turned off. After returning home with no additional events the engine warning light went off the next warning. This was on a Sunday so we were unable to get it to a dealer. The next day we dropped off the vehicle at nappletom Chrysler dealership. The called us the next day and told us they could not cause the event to happen again. They could see a set of error codes showing the problem occurred, but told us there was nothing they could do and it was up to us to cause the problem and then return the vehicle. Now I have a minivan with 70k miles on it that my wife primarily uses my with to get my daughter from place to place and I have no idea when this vehicle will shut the engine down at any time potentially causing a dangerous accident. I believe Chrysler has the responsibility to determine what the issue is. Researching on the internet show this is a common problem for my vehicle and typically requires a new transmission or and engine wiring short.

37 Power Train problem of the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/13/2025

I purchased this van in March 2025, it was used about 62000 miles, but dealer said it was in good condition, no issues. In September 2025, a battery light came on, that also activated the start/stop could not be used and needed service as well as service shifter. I brought the vehicle in and they simply replaced the auxiliary battery and sent me on my way. On November 13th, I was driving and a battery light came on as well as the stop/start not available error, and then moments later said "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon". Thankfully I was only moments from home, and made it safely with my 5 children who were also in the van. Obviously this is dangerous as the vehicle stopping while driving can kill myself, my children, anyone in my vehicle, as well as cars around me as I live in a busy area, tampa, FL. This car had just been given a review in March when put up for sale, and I had brought it in for an oil change, as well as a motor mount replacement, and the aux battery change, before this. My car has been serviced multiple times and this should have been checked or errors/updates reviewed. This auto/stop start seems to be a key in the safety issues as well since that light comes on every time there is an issue. Now the dealer states they are going to replace my pdc, main fuse box, and see if that fixes the error, but I have read that this is an error in many Chrysler Pacificas and mine is another.

38 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/12/2025

Vehicle was put into reverse and did not stop, it hit a pole. Then the driver tried to put in drive to get it off of the pole and it accelerated quickly and the driver could not stop the vehicle. There was little time to react as it hit the side of a building and airbags deployed. Driver stated that the car accelerated on it's own once it was put into gear.

39 Power Train problem of the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/08/2025

Component/system: the propulsion system of my 2020 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid, specifically a suspected internal transmission wiring-connector short—the exact hardware defect identified in recall 23v-010 as capable of causing sudden loss of motive power. In my case, both propulsion sources (gas and electric) simultaneously ceased providing power, leaving the vehicle unable to accelerate. The vehicle, its transmission, and all hybrid-system components are available for inspection upon request. When inspected at the Chrysler dealership, technicians retrieved a diagnostic trouble code they acknowledged corresponds to the known wiring-connector short condition. This code was present before any recall procedures were performed. Safety risk: I was traveling at highway speed with my family, the vehicle abruptly lost all motive power and began decelerating without my ability to maintain speed. I was forced to coast to the shoulder while surrounded by faster-moving traffic, exposing me and other motorists to the danger of a high-speed rear-end collision. Dealer confirmation: the Chrysler dealer confirmed the presence of the wiring-connector-related fault code and agreed that it aligned with the recall defect pattern. However, they performed only the software update required under recall 23v-010 and informed me that they would not undertake further inspection or physical diagnosis unless I paid out-of-pocket, despite the safety-critical nature of the failure. They are ignoring the fact that the physical underlying defect is not fixed by the software update, much to my frustration. With this unfixed, the car is not safe to drive imo. Inspection: the vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Chrysler dealer. No additional parties have inspected it. The dealer did not examine or repair the wiring harness or connector itself, refusing my request to do so. Warnings/symptoms: a hybrid/electrical-system warning message appeared moments before the shutdown. No prior symptoms.

40 Power Train problem of the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/08/2025

This submission supplements my prior NHTSA odi complaint regarding the same vehicle and loss-of-motive-power condition. On Nov 8, 2025, the vehicle experienced a loss of propulsion at highway speed, creating an immediate safety risk. The vehicle could not maintain speed and required evasive action with no propulsion to avoid traffic hazards. Following the incident, the vehicle was inspected and stored diagnostic trouble codes p0a3f-00 and p0a43-00 were retrieved, relating to drive motor position sensor / resolver signal loss or degradation. These fault codes are associated with loss of propulsion and indicate a propulsion control signal-path fault, rather than a condition resolved by software calibration alone. The vehicle remains available for inspection and is out of service at a dealership due to unresolved safety concerns. Since my prior odi complaint, I provided formal written notice to the manufacturer describing the incident, the retrieved fault codes, and the safety implications, and requested a written response. Receipt was confirmed by usps certified mail on January 6, 2026. No written response was provided, and repeated attempts to contact the manufacturer through customer service channels were not returned. The manufacturer authorized only a recall firmware update and declined to authorize or perform the intermittent wiring and resolver diagnostics identified in its diagnostic procedures for these fault codes. The firmware update does not inspect, repair, or replace the resolver, wiring, or related hardware indicated by the stored codes, and does not determine whether the underlying propulsion fault has been corrected. As a result, the vehicle has been out of service for more than two months, and the risk of another loss-of-propulsion event remains unresolved. This update documents the manufacturer’s non-response after notice and reliance on a software-only remedy that does not address the indicated propulsion system fault.

41 Power Train problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/07/2025

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the message “service rack and pinion gears” was displayed. The contact stated that it was difficult to turn the steering wheel to the left or right. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and replaced the rack and pinion gears and the steering module. The vehicle was repaired; however, after the repair to the steering, the contact experienced a failure with the transmission. The contact stated that while stopped at traffic signals, after depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the engine was running but was vibrating roughly, and then the vehicle jolted forward. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent at first but had become a recurring failure. The contact stated that during another failure, while the engine was running, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the transmission control module needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the shifter module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred, and the contact had the vehicle towed to the same dealer. The dealer had the vehicle for several days and called the contact to pick up the vehicle, and informed the contact that the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed again, and the vehicle was no longer able to start the vehicle. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 184,136.

43 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/17/2025

The vehicle stalls while driving without any notice. This van has a start/stop function and it malfunctions. There are two separate batteries that control this function and both of them have been replaced. The entire steering rack and steering column have had to be replaced. The front suspension has also had to be replaced because the tires wear out very quickly. The alternator, radiator, and motor mounts have also had to be replaced. The van is available for inspection. At the moment the vehicle will not start and I have been advised that it needs a new starter. This vehicle is a safety risk and it puts others at risk as well. These problems have been diagnosed and confirmed by at least three different service centers including a Chrysler dealership. I generally do not get any warning lamps, messages, or symptoms when the van stalls.

44 Power Train problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/15/2025

My 2017 Chrysler Pacifica touring-l has suffered repeated and dangerous electrical failures since purchase. Shortly after buying it from autonation Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram in valencia, CA, I had to return it twice for electrical repairs that kept it in service several weeks under warranty. About two years later, while still under extended warranty, the engine underwent a complete rebuild for multiple-cylinder misfire codes that were likely caused by intermittent can-bus voltage loss rather than a mechanical defect. Over the past nine months, the vehicle has again developed severe electrical faults while driving: sudden loss of power steering assist, all dashboard lights illuminating, windshield wipers activating spontaneously, and the engine failing to shut off using the start/stop button. The vehicle has also stalled without warning while driving in traffic or idling at red lights, restarting only after 5–10 minutes and blocking traffic lanes, placing me and surrounding drivers at significant risk. Two major repairs in the last two weeks failed to resolve the defects: (1) repair of the can-bus system after the vehicle would not start and acted erratically while driving, and a week later (2) replacement of the brake-booster vacuum pump, which was shorted internally and caused can-bus shutdown, complete steering loss, sudden braking, and no engine power. The vehicle is currently at dependable Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram, canoga park, CA, awaiting further diagnosis despite repeated repair attempts. These symptoms match Chrysler tsbs 08-007-17 and 08-033-21 concerning body control module water intrusion and communication faults. This ongoing electrical defect has caused steering loss, random stalling, ignition failure, and unpredictable vehicle behavior—issues widely reported by Pacifica owners. It poses a serious safety hazard and warrants immediate investigation and recall.

45 Power Train problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/13/2025

I had the recall for 73b performed in mid October to my 2017 ev/hybrid Pacifica- 2017 and only 67k miles. No issues before. Since the recall service I’ve brought it in twice with the same problems stating hybrid battery needs conditioning/service. I suspect it’s the recall update that has caused all types of issues. I did go to auto zone before I brought the vehicle in just this Monday to get the codes. U0412, p1a29, p0a7f- invalid data received from battery energy control module a - lost communication with hybrid battery pack sensor module- a deterioration. If you google 73b recall service problems on Chrysler Pacifica - the following appears: failure to charge and engine light: some owners have reported that the vehicle no longer charges after the recall service and has a check engine light, with error codes like p0a0a (high voltage system interlock circuit) and p0a7f (hybrid/ev battery pack deterioration), says reddit users. Intermittent check engine light: other owners have noted the check engine light comes on intermittently after the recall service, sometimes disappearing on its own. Battery concerns: some owners who already had issues with the battery before the recall now report that the recall service did not resolve their problems, and a new, more significant battery issue may have developed. It appears that the issue with the hybrid battery is not being resolved and the service recall for 73b amplifies issues for the hybrid Pacifica models. It may be a ploy from Chrysler for owners to get “rid,” of our vans. I’m contacting the lawyers of the class action lawsuit with this information. It’s so unreasonable for Chrysler to do this and not offer further support. The time, stress, anxiety and loss of a proper running vehicle has really impacted my family.

46 Power Train problem of the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/04/2025

This car has lost power train at highway speeds several times almost casing accidents in major interstates intersections with no left shoulder. Chrysler has more than reasonably failed to repair this car transmission 9 times. This car has been in repair for 7 months in 2023 waiting for a new transmission. It has now spent more than 30 accumulative days just this year, and it is now at the dealership having its transmission replaced for the second time. I am submitting the second transmission replacement notice as evidence and first repair order as evidence. I have been able to avoid collision but have had to many close calls to the point that I feel unsafe driving this car and my wife won't drive this car anymore.

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the gear shifter independently shifted into park, and the service shifter error message was displayed. In addition, the contact stated that the odometer reading was incorrect. The contact stated that the odometer reading showed more mileage than the actual trip mileage. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. In addition, the contact stated that the failure almost caused a crash while children were seated in the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

48 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/02/2025

While driving, the Pacifica lost all engine power in the middle of an intersection while traveling at 34 mph. All the dash lights blinked and sounded alerts. The car then showed u1267 and u0416 diagnostic codes.

49 Power Train problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

Backup camera - blue screen or black screen. This has been reported several times and was recalled for the 2021-2023 Pacifica. This is dangerous. The transmission jerks really hard between 2-3 great which has also been reported as a normal occurrence that Chrysler has not addresses.

50 Power Train problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/29/2025

I am reporting a serious safety issue with my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, purchased in February 2024. The vehicle experiences repeated drivetrain shutdowns and unsafe operation due to confirmed failures in the transmission control module and valve body, diagnosed by Chrysler Dodge Jeep in north las vegas, nevada. These malfunctions prevent proper gear engagement while driving, creating a significant risk to myself, my five children, and others on the road. Multiple dashboard warnings—including “service electronic stability control,” “park sense unavailable,” “park brake temporarily unavailable,” “blindspot alert temporarily unavailable,” “service trance stop safety shut off engine to engage park,” and “accessible cruise control unavailable”—have appeared intermittently since purchase. Dealer inspections and diagnostic reports confirm the problem, but repair costs exceed the vehicle’s value, leaving the issue unresolved. This ongoing safety hazard requires immediate investigation to prevent potential harm to passengers and other drivers.

51 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/22/2025

I was driving and the van suddenly lost all propulsion. Brakes and steering and dash lights functioned, but there was a red turtle icon and error message about a system failure. The accelerator pedal did nothing at all. I was able to coast off the side of the road to a place to pull over, but that could have been a terrible accident if I lost power like that on I-95 or any other major highway. My husband came and we switch cars (kids, car seats, etc) and he was able to get the van to start after half an hour. It had check engine lights on for things, but the dealer said to bring it in because it was drivable again. Despite brining it in as told, with check engine lights on that they saw, they said they could not reproduce it and couldn't find codes for the check engine light (even though I pulled them from my own obd2 diagnostic plug tool and took photos of the codes) and eventually said I have to take the car back, despite no cause or resolution. These cars have known faulty battery issues and a large number have been replaced already, but Chrysler isn't authorizing dealers to do that unless they can reliably reproduce the failure. Very frustrating to see Chrysler not go the route of other manufacturers who sourced their batteries from the same plant and ended up proactively replacing them for consumers. While Chrysler's many recalls for the hybrid battery system software have probably made it detect faults earlier to try to prevent fires, they are still known to happen, but now in addition to a fire risk, we also have a car that has a much higher chance of just losing power while driving due to over sensitive battery monitoring, or a plain old faulty battery that just isn't faulty 'enough' for Chrysler to authorize a replacement. So frustrating and dangerous.

52 Power Train problem of the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/16/2025

While driving several warning lights came on and the transmission shutdown. I coasted to the side of the road. The engine kept running but the van would not move. I shut the engine off and after a few minutes (5 to 10) I restarted the van and the warning lights were on on. I drove the van 2 or 3 miles and it happened again. Once again after a few minutes all the warning lights were off except the check engine light. I returned to my motel and called a local Chrysler dealer. I then was able to drive to the dealer with no problem. When they diagnosed the problem they said it had several codes. The following is what the service department did. “digit-verified cel stored codes p0973 in tim and in pcm, abs bcm u0418 u0402, u422, alll are stored erased codes, no updates, removed air box to access ground and tim connector, inspected harness from tcm to transmission, removed and cleaned ground on trans, reassembled and test drove could not duplicate concern. After more test drives still unable to duplicate concern. ” after this I was able to drive home 1500 miles without any problems. Not sure if the problem is fixed or not. I just wanted to report this just in case others are having the same problem and to build a case for a recall if needed.

53 Power Train problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/12/2025

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at a slow speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle stalled. Additionally, the steering wheel seized. The message “no letter d” or “p for park”, was displayed and flashing on the instrument panel. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. After several minutes, the contact was able to restart the vehicle to continue driving. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the nhsta hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.

54 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/11/2025

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed low speeds, the electric power steering stopped functioning properly after the contact heard an abnormal crunching sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. The contact also stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle briefly jerked and jolted during acceleration as if the transmission was slamming into gear. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for regular maintenance service, and the contact was informed that the motor mounts needed to be replaced. The vehicle failures were not diagnosed during regular maintenance service. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 121,000.

55 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/09/2025

After safety recall 73b was performed on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid on 08/25/2025, the vehicle's check engine light illuminated on 09/09/2025. I was inundated with multiple failure lights including; check engine, service electronic throttle control, service hybrid electric vehicle system, blind spot alert, and I felt like I lost power steering. I was unsure if the van was safe to drive, but was able to get it to the dealership. They were able to pull multiple codes. Including the one for the check engine light. They decided that the problem was related to the abs control module. They replaced it and the van has been fine so far. It seems these error codes are widespread after performing recall 73b. Many other customers are complaining of the same thing. I believe these errors are from the testing to the high voltage battery, and their 'software fix'. It's not safe to lose your power steering while driving. It's not safe to have multiple error codes continuously going off while operating the car. It's not safe to have a family car that we have been told twice to not park in the garage, charge, or park near a structure. This is their second attempt at 73b, and overall the second fire recall. My van and high voltage battery are definitely available for inspection.

56 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/09/2025

My vehicle went in for recall 73b at the end of August 2025. Every since the recall it has been back to the dealer for multiple check engine lights, service hybrid system, abs system, battery heater fail, blind spot warning temporary unavailable, service shifter(would not go into gear), parking brake, stability control light, partial loss of power steering while driving, service electronic throttle control, and service airbag messages. The van has been to the dealership 4 times for these messages. They have replaced components, tried to find loose wires and connectors, replaced the 12v battery, and other fixes. The van will drive normally for a few weeks, and then they come back. On the latest visit (4th since 73b recall) it's been at the dealership for 31 days and counting. The dealership is waiting on Chrysler to figure out a fix for the van. The vehicle has over 50 stored messages. This recall was supposed to monitor the hybrid battery for early indications for a fire, but according to the original recall all batteries are assumed to have the manufacturing defect that leads to spontaneous fires. This van is unsafe, and we never know when it will work correctly. The van operated normally before the recall software was installed.

57 Power Train problem of the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/06/2025

Transmission intermittently stuck in 4th gear down shifting 64,000 miles. No code for mechanic to diagnose until 72,000 miles and stuck in 4th gear. Transmission control module and transmission required replacement. Code p072f. 2017-2023 hybrid models recalled transmission as well and class action lawsuit.

58 Power Train problem of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/31/2025

Internal failure of the electronic shifter assembly. Essentially the shifter would lock into place in undesired gear-for example-attempt to move into d, would move to r and lock up so the only way we could get it to stop moving/into desired gear was to immediately power off (even though not in p) and try again on restart (which is very scary thinking your car may reverse or move foward w/no ability to stop it). This occurred on multiple occasions prior to bring to dealer, when children present in the car, and did not consistently occur every ignition. Currently vehicle is at cornerstone Ford/Chrysler/GMC in elk river and they have ordered the part (nationwide backorder), estimated stock date w/in 7d but suspect seeing nationwide shortage-is this shortage due to many vehicles needing replacement-that alone would make me suspect need for safety recall! the vehicle hasn't been inspected by anyone but the dealer, no warning lights/messages/other symptoms that we noted.

59 Power Train problem of the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/30/2025

While driving in the carpool lane on the freeway, the vehicle displayed “stop safely. Vehicle will shut off soon” and lost all power. I am pregnant and had four children (ages [xxx] , [xxx] , [xxx] , and [xxx] ) in the vehicle. The outside temperature was over 100°f, and we were two hours from home. The car was completely disabled in heavy traffic, creating an extreme safety risk for my family. After waiting about 15–20 minutes, the vehicle restarted and we were able to continue. A code scan showed p0a78 – drive motor “a” inverter performance. This is a serious safety concern, and I am requesting immediate inspection and repair under warranty. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

60 Power Train problem of the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/27/2025

Vehicle loses power and goes into limp mode. This has happened three times same fault code. The last two times we were going 80 on the expressway. Very dangerous luckily we haven't caused a accident. The manufacturer hasn't fixed the problem. Even though we keep taking it to the dealer. They clear the code and try to recreate the problem with no success. Tell us there is nothing they can do. There are recalls snd repairs for previous years of this vehicle with the same issue. They haven't solved the problem in the 2024s. The car was bought new in November 2024 and has 18,000 miles. It is unreliable and unsafe. See attached photos showing he dash and warning.

61 Power Train problem of the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/19/2025

When beginning to move from a stop, the transmission occasionally does not engage for a few seconds and allows the vehicle to drift unexpectedly before it slips in gear and moves. Also, occasionally when shifting gears once moving, the transmission “pops” into gear, which feels as if I have been rear-ended. This has been happening for a few years and has been at the dealership 5 or so times with no resolution.

62 Power Train problem of the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/13/2025

I would like to bring up a serious safety issue with this vehicle (2024 Chrysler Pacifica select phev) with 6997 miles on the odometer. As I was driving, at approximately 11:15am, I received a message on the dashboard that read, “stop safely!! vehicle will shut off in < 2 minutes”. For my own safety as well as other drivers on the road, I tried maneuvering the vehicle to the side of the road, however the vehicle shut off within 15-30 seconds. The vehicle did not move at all. The serious safety concern I have is “what if the vehicle had stopped running on the major highways full of traffic”? please note, this is also a well-known issue starting from the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica models. Additionally, a similar incident occurred to another similar make model in sept. 2024 with VIN # [xxx] . It seemed like, when I received the message, the vehicle's computer system interlocks fuel supply and chokes up the brakes to the wheels so the vehicle is completed locked up in one position and it does not do rolling stop to safely pull over to the side of the road. This is very dangerous because if a semi-truck with 80,000 lbs. Load is coming behind you, you will not be able to move your vehicle to the side. This can potentially kill all the occupants in the vehicle. This vehicle has been towed to the dealer to troubleshoot/resolve the issue. Thank you so much in advance for looking into this issue urgently. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

63 Power Train problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/11/2025

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while his wife was attempting to park the vehicle with the brake pedal depressed, the engine unexpectedly began to rev. The vehicle then accelerated inadvertently, resulting in a collision with a pole in front of the parking space. There was no damage to the pole. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to a collision center, and the insurance company declared it a total loss. No police report was filed. No injuries were sustained. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000. The VIN was not available.

64 Power Train problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Transmission will have a very severe jerk when starting out, usually at low speeds, causing the driver to temporarily lose control and distract them from driving. This appears to be a very common issue on the recent model Pacifica that uses the zf transmission. There is a serious disagreement about the servicing interval of the oil in the transmissions. Chrysler states that it is a "lifetime" oil and does not require changing. The transmission manufacturer zf, states on their website that it must be changed at 100,000 km. Some Chrysler dealers say it needs periodic changing, while others say it never needs changing. The impact of this is that a significant number of transmissions are failing. When these are in warranty, they are replaced by the dealer, but those out of warranty result in a major expense to the owners, even though the owners are following the auto manufacturer's recommendations. Owners need clarification of this, and if the servicing recommendations for the zf transmissions are in error and result in a transmission failure, the auto manufacturer should bear some responsibility. A quick scan of the Chrysler Pacifica online groups will show numerous cases such as this,.

When driving van will jerk or bang like slipping in gear, feels like possible being hit from behind, we have tried the adaptive learning reset several times, we had just purchased this less than 2 months ago with about 4800 miles in it. Feels dangerous to drive, especially with kids. We are scared to even try the cruise control. We heard and read online many whey same issues, with warranty and having there vans in dealership on several events, having reset in software upgrades, transmission replacement with only the problem to return. Please fix this, this one of my vehicles that unfortunately I have to drive because it's my only vehicle. Failure Date: 07/21/2025

The vehicle has been at the dealership multiple times for transmission issues, and the most recent time slammed into park while driving slowly on a side road. It is a known hybrid transmission issue and the dealership just let me know that the manufacturer will not replace the transmission, only rebuild per TSB 21-025-25. I am concerned based on research of others with this issue that the rebuild will not fix the issue and the transmission will shift to park on the highway with my wife driving.

69 Power Train problem of the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/12/2025

Since week 1 of owning my brand new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid, I have had issues of loss of motive power. I have done all of the recall remedies yet my car with a 35day old 12v battery not only died on me, but drained every battery in my vehicle so that I couldnt open my doors. The vehicle was unable to be jumped so that it could be driven, so I ended up paying o or $1000 in towing to get the vehicle to my dealership to be diagnosed, again. That happened on July 12th, I finally had it towed on July 14th to my dealership & it has been there since. Although the pim & battery are under warranty, Chrysler is refusing to reimburse me any of the tow fees & only 20 days of a rental I have now had for a month. The dealership installed the pim which cleared a couple of codes, but not all. They installed another new 12v battery, which was immediately drained. They have ordered another coolant something or other for the battery & here we are. I attempted in 2022 to retain a lemon law lawyer but he gave up very easily once Chrysler just stopped answering him. He said because I had my car updated under the class action lawsuit moran is Chrysler fca et al, I was not able to continue under lemon law. I have not been able to find a lawyer, even one from the class action lawsuit, to assist me in fighting Chrysler to do something to make me whole. My vehicle needs to be inspected in less than 40 days but at this point my 5 yr old vehicle can not pass the PA inspection, so what am I supposed to do? I live in the mountains, have an 8 yrold grandchild that im raising & certainly cant afford to rent cars forever. I still haven't gotten my pension from the coty of philadelphia after 3 years of retiring after getting hurt on the job. I just read an article about the office of drfective products investigating Chrysler in 2022 for exactly the problems I continue to have!!.
