2 Service Engine Light On problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 04/20/2013

Multiple occurances of car burning oil? unsure where its going. Check engine light came on at first occurrance, no indicator of any oil issues. Took to mechanic and stated the oil stick was completely dry. No indications of any holes/leaks or other issues. Next occurance without warning service light came on and inspected immediately after light came on to find again no oil remaining. Service mechanics unsure of where the oil is going as there still appears to be no leaks or signs of it going anywhere. On average need to put in oil in every 100-200 miles to avoid complete loss of all oil. The farther down it gets, it seems to dissappear more rapidly. The service engine light comes on when the car is completely dry of oil posing potential engine lock up issues or cracking of engine block without notice. There is no oil light, the light immediately goes to service engine soon light, and after numerous occurances indicates a competely dry dipstick.

3 Service Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/15/2010

Car has had the service engine soon light on for over 6 months. Tried to get dealer to honor warranty - 48/50,000 - but had no luck. As of October, 15th, 2010, the car became inoperable due to a heavy knocking sound associated with the engine. I tried relentlessly again to have the dealer honor the warranty. I was told to bring the car in and I did so. Their testing found that there is sludge in the motor, whatever that is. The repairs will take $11,000 to fix, which is more than the worth of the vehicle in some cases. I have tried consumer affairs in maryland but the dealer has not budged. The car is still in the dealer's possession.
