1 Transmission Failure problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/18/2020

When making a slow turn (15 mph) the transmission first lurched then banged into next gear. The front wheels slipped and lost traction sending the car out of the pavement. I was able to regain control. Then when merging into the highway the transmission failed to reach higher gears leaving us running at just 30 mph and almost being rear ended several times just then the engine light came on. It is the 3rd time this transmission issue has happened. Chrysler replaced the transmission body valve the first time, the second time the whole transmission was replaced both times it took about 30 days to perform the repair.

2 Transmission Failure problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/01/2017

Hard shifting in low gear (and now sometimes at high speed). The problem began before 25,000 miles. Have taken it to the dealer multiple times for a fix. I'm always told the problem can't be reproduced. I'm now just waiting for the transmission to fail. This is unacceptable.

3 Transmission Failure problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/24/2017

Transmission failed on us 3 times. First was backing out of a parking spot, totally locked up for 15 minutes. Reset and ran fine. Next, with wife and 3 kids in the van, transmission locked up at 45 miles per hour almost causing her to crash and get hit. All lights came on and electronic parking brake engaged. Dealership took 2 weeks to fix and said it was fine. Next, I was driving at 55 mph and transmission locked up. Almost died. No a/a by the grace of god. All lights came on and parking brake engaged again. Now, Chrysler is replacing the entire transmission. We won't take it back. Family almost died twice.

4 Transmission Failure problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 03/27/2017

After placing the vehicle in reverse and applying gas the vehicle will start to reverse as intended. However, after moving several feet the transmission completely fails and the vehicle does not respond to added pressure from the gas pedal. It's as if the transmission shifts to neutral on its own and the engine revs its rpms with no result. This has happened at least 3 times on a slight incline and the vehicle begins to roll uncontrollably. It creates moments of confusion for the driver since they believe they should be moving backwards in reverse but the transmission lets go and starts to actually roll forwards. This has happened at home in the drive way as well as in a public parking lot. After the scenario happens, the r on the shifter blinks uncontrollably. The only way to reset the car is to turn it off and restart it. At that point it appears the transmission re-engages.

7 Transmission Failure problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 05/26/2005

Was driving to work and was about to enter the interstate highway when the automatic transmission failed. Car would not move, no forward or reverse. The 2005 Chrysler Pacifica had 1,077 miles on it and we had the vehicle just one month. Vehicle was towed to the dealer. They advised us that rear carrier gear had failed in the transmission due to a manufacturing defect (not properly welded). Part was replaced by the dealer.
