A fixed rear window on a 2002 Chrysler Pt Cruiser is coming loose. This is a recall on an older model of Pt Cruiser. I asked a Dodge dealer about if there was a recall for my year model and they said it was not extended to the 2002 year model.

4 Power Window problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 05/26/2007

I received a recall notice on the 2005 Pt Cruiser for the back windows. I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance so that they could have the parts there. When I got to the dealer- len stoller in westminster, MD it took them an hour of me sitting around to tell me that they did have the parts. This really suckeed.

5 Power Window problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 01/19/2007

Rolling down the back passenger window on my 2005 Pt Cruiser convertible 2-dr while the front window is up causes the insulating strip between the windows to slide off the back window and stick in the window mount. I asked the dealership to evaluate the problem, and they said the windows were out of adjustment which caused the seal to stick, and suggested if I didn't want to pay $500. 00 to fix it I could put adhesive on it. I have a fear if my children shut the door hard the front window will break from slamming against the exposed metal on the side of the back window.

6 Power Window problem of the 2001 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 06/30/2006

Hello, I believe that there may be a recall on the front windows of the 2001 Pt Cruiser. I believe I may have saw a trickle of smoke once come out of the window controls. Plus, the window makes a "screeching" sound when it goes down.

7 Power Window problem of the 2004 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 11/09/2003

I am writing to you to alert you to a horrible hazard in cars with electric windows. In November 2003 my family and I were on vacation in san diego and we rented a Pt Cruiser. At one point we were parked in a parking lot with the car running talking to another group when my 6 year old stuck her head out the windowe to join the discussion. When she did, she accidentially kicked the power window button with her foot. The button was located near the floor in the backseat on the middle consol. She rolled the window up on her own head and was stuck in the window. She only lived through the event because 1) her head was tilted at the time so the window rolled up on the side of her neck and not on her trachea; and 2) her 8 year old sister in the back seat with her heard her screams and got her foot off the button and rolled the window back down. It was terrifying and painful and totally preventable. The button should be in a different place where it cannot be kicked or bumped so easily, and there should be a mechanism that allows the window to roll back down if it meets resistance. I am willing to testify or to sign an affidavit or help in any way that I can to get this matter resolved through changes to industry standards. I know that other children have died from this. Please forward this to the appropriate division if I have sent this to you in error or please notify me so that I can contact the appropriate division. Thank you very much for your attention to this matter.
