2 Wiper problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 12/12/2017

The tipm (the computer that maintains the whole car) is bad and needs to be replaced in an almost 10 year old vehicle bought new in 2008 with only 25,000 miles on it. It is sending bad signals to the wipers so I cannot drive it in bad weather. Although thre is a powertrain for life warranty, Chrysler refuses to replace the tipm. I was driving in heavy morning traffic it was snowing and the wipers stuck in the middle of the car causing me to be unable to see posing a danger to myself and others. The car also stopped dead in traffic on me a couple of times and there was nothing wrong with the battery I took it to the shop and they found nothing.

3 Wiper problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Whilst driving on the freeway my rear driver's side visibility window flew off of my car and nearly hit the vehicle driving in the fast lane to my immediate left at 65mph. They had to swerve to avoid a collision with it. I stopped on the side of the road and picked it up.

5 Wiper problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 08/07/2016

While driving down interstate 95 the left rear quarter window separated from my car. I very thankful another car was not following closing. That would have been ugly. Chrysler had a previous recall on this problem but they said my VIN was not included in the recall. Reference: NHTSA identification number 07v-149.

6 Wiper problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 03/15/2016

While driving I noticed rattling noises coming from the rear of the vehicle and excessive road noise in the passenger compartment coming from the back. After a rainy day I observed puddles of water behind the rear seats. Upon investigating I found that the fixed rear quarter windows were no longer properly attached to the body of the vehicle. I learned that a recall was performed on this vehicle back in 2007 (NHTSA campaign number: 07v149000) I called Chrysler and they verified that the recall had been performed on this vehicle in may of 2007. It would appear that the fix is not effective, and frankly I am not surprised. Expecting plastic to maintain integrity long term under tension is foolish. It should be possible to use a more permanent, flexible adhesive (e. G. Rtv) to seal the window to the body of the vehicle and eliminate the possibility of the window mounting bolt failure causing the windows to detach from the vehicle.

7 Wiper problem of the 2001 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

9 Wiper problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 04/06/2015

While driving yesterday, the left rear quarter window fell out. Chrysler had a recall no. G01 for this problem, and I was told by the Chrysler rep that the windows on this vehicle had been replaced under the recall and they could do nothing for me. The repair was not done properly or the window would have not separated from the vehicle, as vehicles should not have windows falling out of them driving down the road. I feel that Chrysler did not properly address this safety issue. Note: I am an agent for the vehicle owner, she is an elderly person residing in assisted living. Her name is eileen hinrichsen.

14 Wiper problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 05/05/2014

The problem I have been having with the air bag light of my 2005 pt convertible cruiser has been going on for 7 years and 6 attempts to fix it. Chrysler customer care service has authorized the napleton dealership in lake park, florida, to fix the problem with the air bag light twice: once in September 2012, and most recently in may 2014. The service department performs the same replacement of the harness buckle apparatus each time, but that is clearly not the underlying reason that the air bag light comes on after every attempt to fix it. After the fourth attempt to fix it failed by a different dealership in tallahassee, florida, it was suggested that the underlying problem was probably with the entire wiring system of the car, but during the 5th and 6th attempts to repair the air bag light, the dealership did not seem willing to look into this and ended doing the exact same repair that has been attempted for 7 years. Meanwhile I have been told that the car is not safe to drive when the air bag light is on.

17 Wiper problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 08/25/2013

The multi function switch on the steering column just stops working. When this happens you lose head lights, tail lights, turn signals, windshield wipers, and windshield spray. The switch has been replaced twice now and the same problem keeps occurring. It either fails totally or works intermittently. You cannot drive the car at night or when it's raining - it's a major safety issue.

Failure Date: 02/05/2013

My front windshild wipers stopped working. I took it into the Chrysler Dodge dealership, jackson mi and found the tipm, totally integrated power module was defective and needed to be replaced at cost of $906. I found on the internet this is a common problem on Chryslers. It is at the dealer getting repaired. I feel a recall of this is needed. If you are out driving and the wipers go out you are in big trouble. Just lucky we were in town and not on the expressway.

25 Wiper problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 12/21/2011

Wife left house at 4:45pm (near dusk) during rain. She got 2 1/2 miles away, phoned and said wipers on 2006 Pt Cruiser had stopped working. Went to meet her on side of road and drove car back to house, her in front of me with our flashers on, while the rain had slacked, but not completely stopped. The wipers will come on very slowly and eventually stop, if I jiggle the wiper control and turn signal at the same time. I've checked the internet and it seems like this is a common problem for this vehicle. I do believe this warrants a recall, as this could lead to a very serious or deadly accident. I don't know how many compaints it takes before something is done, but it needs to be done soon. I haven't taken this car to a mechanic yet as we have our old Ford pickup to drive on rainy days, thank god!!!!!.

26 Wiper problem of the 2008 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 11/28/2011

While driving to work in the rain the wipers stopped mid cycle, when I made adjustments on the column control the wipers went into low speed mode and would also work in the high speed mode, however the wipers would not stop working until several trys to turn them off worked. The problem continued to present it's self and at one point the wipers continued to run with the key in the "off" position. I made an appointment with dick hannah Chrysler in vancouver , wa on 3 Dec 2011 where the problem was found to be in the t. I. P. M (fault code b3205) . I have made arrangements to have the t. I. P. M replaced by this dealer when they get the t. I. P. M replacement from Chrysler (5 days out). The cost of this problem caused by one circuit of the t. I. P. M is $840. 00 and there is no way to have the one circuit replaced or repaired on the defective unit in the Pt Cruiser. The cost of this problem is only one issue in this matter the major issue is safety caused by the distraction of attention when the problem presents itself while the vehicle is being driven. There are many sites on the internet that have information regarding the t. I. P. M failure on Chrysler vehicles which indicates a safety problem with the t. I. P. M. I feel that this matter should be looked into as it is a potential safety hazard waiting to present loss of visibility and distraction of attention in regard to safe operation of the vehicle.

29 Wiper problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 02/01/2011

Over the past three weeks the front wipers have been working intermittently, this morning they stopped completely. They froze in the on/up position blocking my view while driving. They did creep their way down and are currently stopped about 1/4 of the way up on the windshield. I am concerned that they won't work on one of our many rainy days in oregon, luckily today is a dry day.

Please recall, the windshield wiper it's constantly having problem. Took to the deal and reset computer modular and it works fine. Six months later, it did it again and this time extended warranty ran out because it's a used car so I get 3 months or 3000 miles whatever comes first. So, the dealer charge me $100. 00 for the same service. A few more months it did again. Bottom line Pt Cruiser windshield wipers have serious problem and it will cause an accident someday due faultiness. Also, ac needs a recall because of the so many issue with working properly.

33 Wiper problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Failure Date: 07/01/2009

During a summer storm several years ago with changes in pressure my windshield cracked from the seam about 4 to 5 inches out from the passenger side. The vehicle was parked in a drive way. There is no damage as though it was hit. It was simply parked one night and the crack was visible the next day. Since then, it is almost 3/4 of the way to the driver side right at eye level. There is now a second crack following another storm with pressure changes, starting at the seam as well just above the rear view mirror that goes down 2 to 3 inches and then goes to the passenger side approximately 4 to 5 inches. I have contacted Chrysler and they refuse to acknowledge this could be a manufacturing issue although research shows previous recalls on Pt Cruiser windshields for the same reason of improper installation.

34 Wiper problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pt Cruiser
