Body Problems of Chrysler Sebring - part 1

There were 7 recalls on my make, year, model vehicle. Three of which were brakes, air bags, and the tpms tire monitoring system. Other body parts, doors and hood releases had recalls along with hvac/air conditioning systems. Radiator/fan motor failures. Doors flying open during transit. The abs control module could cause the brakes to lock-up during braking. Shorts from unused connectors for the computer/tpms system/brakes and air bags have been causing many unpredictable breakdowns. Some predictable, from past records, state recorded instances from 180,963 vehicles that just failure of the tpms monitor system has already caused engine no start, dead battery, inoperable cruise control, remote start system, engine stalling which could cause a "crash without warning". . I was not informed of a recall and me and my son were in the vehicle driving and it started hopping almost as if it had hydraulic. I told my son to fasten his seat belt considering we were just leaving the store and pulling onto a busy highway. It continued to wable and I sped up to get off the hwy and then hen the jumping real high and hard began I was going maybe 45 mph and the axle or ballpoint had snapped causing the car wheel to lock up and cause me to run in the ditch luckily no one was harmed but we were very interested much so shaken up. . I had no issue out of that tire or ball joint before and I am needing to know what I need to do to start my investigation. . . Me and my son are happy no one was injured too bad.

My car was parked in my driveway, as I was closing the convertible roof, I heard a popping sound two different times. Once I made sure the windows and roof closed I looked to see the back seat arm rest panels had blown away from the frame of the car. I have it at a dealership now waiting to hear there explanation that would cause this to happen.

I have attached the paperwork 4 my 2002 Chrysler Sebring. As you can see my first payment was April 13th 2018 this was my deposit $700. Again on April 24th I paid another $600. May 20th I paid another $700. June 5th I paid $105. June 5th is when I took possession of the car. July 1st is when I had the car accident, where I was informed that the damage on the car was so severe because the undercarriage was all rusted out. The car was totaled. The first day I took the car home the battery was dead I had to buy another battery for $75. I noticed the car was bottoming out I told the mechanic jim who is also the man that sold me the car and he assured me it was safe. They had three months to check the whole car out and make sure it was safe and it sat in the same spot until I picked it up. Now either they never checked the car or they checked the car and sold it to me anyway. The way I see it is they were wrong either way. Not to mention that jim the so-called mechanic is the one who sold it to me. Right after the battery died the radio took a crap. They also charged me extra 4 tax tags and title which was supposed to be included in the $2,000 that they wanted for the car. I tried to negotiate with them seeing that it was under a month that I actually had the car in my possession I explained to jim what the police told me about being all rusted but they insisted I had the car too long and that they weren't going to do anything about it. Took vehicle in to have the ball joint taken care of. Mechanic informed me that the dealer sold me a car with a very rotted subframe and that the car is in an unsafe condition to drive. I was taken to see the subframe. There are several cracks as well as large holes. They would not do the ball joints because it would have caused the subframe to break completely. If the frame would break while driving on the highway, it could be deadly. Chrysler has been aware of this issue, but, extended warranties on only three of their vehicle models with this issue. Sebrings were not on the list. My son is willing to go under the car for pictures if needed.

I was driving when my hood pope right up and it has been the second time. Also my cruse control doesn't work and some light inside don't turn on or my mirrors.

Takata recall. During the course of a year since I've purchased this car, I have experienced issues with what I believe to be power steering. Twice while coming to a stop (stop sign or light), my steering would lock along with my brakes. When I took it to a shop I was told my thermostat needed replaced. I told them to fix the issue. On April 17th while driving home from work a little after midnight this same issue occurred only while I was still driving. I was able to force my wheel to turn enough to drive up the bend I was driving around rather than the school in front of me. Finally I hit a pole and my car has been ruled as a total loss. I have many concerns in regards to what actually happened and why.

I was in the process of entering a highway from a driveway. I hit the gas pedal and the car took off uncontrollably across the highway, across lanes of traffic, went up an embankment and then back down where the car shut off. I had not driven the car since the accident, but when I picked up the vehicle at the dealership where the convertible roof had been worked on, I noticed the electronic throttle indicator light was "on". This may the reason it accelerated uncontrollably.

I was pulling out of craft street onto south main st came out wide then straightened out my cumbys chug jug cup was loose in the cup holder on the passenger side. It tipped over under my feet and, it rolled under the brake pedal. We both tried to reach for the cup at the same time. As soon as we looked up we were heading into a parked vol KS wagon. I tried to hit the brakes and, my foot slid off the brake pedal and, hit the gas instead. I turned the wheel as soon as I saw that we were about to hit the car.

Driving on 195 west heavy rain vehicle hydroplates in front of us no where to go but to hit the other vehicle imy main question is my airbags never came out. . Questioning defect. . . My vehicle was totaled and towed away I am the owner of this vehicle. . . .

2 years ago my hood and the decorative pieces in the doors started peeling , the top coat is coming off on the entire hood, I had a body shop look at it and they stated that when it had been painted the paint had not dried before the top coat was applied.

On the passage side the door is shifting and the fender bends when your try to open the door, it has been fixed once and it is happening again.

I was going down 250 at 40 mph and a woman stopped in front of me not giving me enough time to stop and I rear-ended her. The front drivers side was smashed and the airbag did not deploy. I was taking to the emergency room with injury to my back and head.

I was going park under my carport and the car would not stop, I kept pressing the brakes down as hard as I could but the car kept moving until I pulled the emergency brake almost went into my house. Another incident where I was crossing the thruway and the car stalled in the middle of the intersection with cars coming, close to getting hit by multiple cars, other incidents where the car kills while under the red light, have to restart it.

I recently got my car and love it except for the fact that water is building up on the driver side floor board in the front. I do not know if its the drain holes or the condensation hose. Either way I am attempting to fix these myself, but there seems to be a large amount of Chrysler owners on several models having the same problem. We need to get this resolved for all the thousands of Chrysler owners having this same issue.
