While driving 55 mph during icy conditions, the consumer could not see out of the exterior rear view mirrors, due to icing. The consumer was under the impression that the mirrors were heated . The dealership claims that the mirrors were not heated. The consumer has sales papers claiming that the mirrors were suppose to be the heated type.

2 Exterior Rearview Mirror problem of the 1997 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 10/28/1998

Interior rearview mirror failure of automatic chromatic mirror. Interior liquid leaked into internal workings of mirror while car was sitting. Interior surface of mirror fogged/dirty and difficult to use during day. During night the mirror was not usable under any conditions and there was no read view at night except for glare. There is no 'manual' mode on this mirror and hand adjustment was useless. A service rep at hollywood-Chrysler mentioned that a 1999 model with 1000 miles on it has its mirror replaced that morning (under warranty. ).
