I was driving at minimum speed to turn right and then I lost control of my steering wheel almost hit some cars and a pole but the sidewalk stopped the car from going anywhere I looked up online because I saw a recall that was related to my situation called dealership they said there was no recall for my car. Car is drivable like if nothing ever happened but I don't feel safe driving it.

I was just going down the road and the horn starting going off all by itself. Finally took out the fuse and went and bought a new fuse. That did not fix the problem. It went off when hitting unlock button on remote. Then took it to my mechanic and he said that the horn pad assembly which was a dealer only part had to be replaced. So right now I have just left the fuse out, because it is an expensive fix. This is a defect in the part and Chrysler should fix this issue. They say it will cost $1,000 for parts and labor. This is not the fault of what I did it is the fault of what they manufactured.
Front end knock felt through steering wheel after car warms up for 15 minutes. Car in motion or if you rock steering back and forth.

1st time jut got out of driveway in a. M. And car horn went off and stayed on through most of street and then turned corner and went off again for several seconds as I approached 1st stoplight. 2nd time as I very briefly beeped horn at friend twice, near my local donuts place & mcd's, but it continued ! I was too embarrassed to stop. 3rd time no one around it parked in driveway when I was shoveling snow. Next & worst time as I was pulling in to stop at plaza and it continued as I shut off car and even restarted it and locked door & unlocked it by key and nothing! went inside car and pressed coast button and finally it stopped. Cops in car ,were nearby when I came out later, said nothing, assumed it went off again with no one around ! 3 other times supposedly no one else around in driveway sometime within my earlier descriptions. Recall this thing!.
Horn randomly goes off (like the alarm). At first it was at unlock, now it is also when driving at speed. Totally random. Today it went off in the driveway, at a parking lot, and then again when I was driving home. Took to a dealership last week, they could not locate a fault. 5 min on google and I saw many complaints on a foil that gets worn over time causing contact shorts in the horn assembly or pad. . . Apparently a $1100 fix. This is a safety issue, and it is a faulty part, it should most certainly be a recall. I have only driven this car 31000 miles.
The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while accelerating and making a left turn, there was an abnormal noise coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle. The failure recurred on several occasions when making turns. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10e059000 (suspension). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

The horn on the vehicle starts to randomly go off and will not stop. Horn will blow even while driving at random times. This is a safety concern as there is also a clicking noise that is emitting from underneath the airbag assembly as the horn starts to go off. I am concerned that at some point during driving the airbag may deploy at the same time as the horn is randomly going off. I have contacted Chrysler and they say they are unaware of this issue even though there are multiple complaints about this issue listed with the NHTSA and do not consider this a safety concern. Repair is quoted at $750+. This really needs to be investigated by NHTSA and Chrysler needs to be made aware of this issue and address for me and other customers who are dealing with this particular safety issue.

In the beginning, the horn would sound randomly while the car was parked and unoccupied. It would continue to sound until we adjusted the steering wheel or pushed on the horn. However, now the horn sounds randomly while driving. It doesn't stop until I am able to pull over and remove the fuse. This creates an unsafe situation with other drivers. The dealership said that it was some sort of electrical failure in the horn and airbag within the steering wheel. We replaced the fuse that controls this mechanism, but it didn't work. The horn and airbag are an integral piece, so in order to replace the horn, we have to replace the airbag. This would cost more than $800. Our easiest solution was to remove the fuse that controls the horn/ airbag. This means that I'm driving it without an airbag or horn. This is extremely unsafe for other motorists and myself. I contacted Chrysler. They stated that there was nothing they could do, because the horn does not fall under any of the warranties and there has not been a recall for this part. There are hundreds of complaints online regarding the airbag and horn! it is very unsafe and common, therefore it should be investigated for a recall. I noticed that on the NHTSA site, people are categorizing this problem as "steering," "electrical," or "airbag," because there is no category for "horn. " I hope that this is not keeping the NHTSA from recognizing how many people are effected. Please investigate it.
Recall #h07 on 12/30/2013 I went to hurley Chrysler Dodge deland, florida. The service advisor [xxx] request a fee of $115. 00 dollar for the electronic diagnosis on this recall. [xxx] stated it was necessary to determine other technical issues on the car that was not necessary the tire pressure monitoring system. Deland aamco serve and repair the car on 12/26/2013 for a cost of 1185. 77, however the tire pressure light still on. I was driving to work when the car (engine)suddenly stop. This situation had happened three times. Also sometime the car smell like burn wire. I just request an appointment with your national people at the dealership as soon as possible before any mayor accident can happened to me. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
On the way home from work the left front ball joint socket separated. I was going 50 mph. On a straight road, no pot holes or bumps. There was a loud bang, front end dropped down, left front tire flipped sideways and there I was stuck on the side of the road. I have 35 years in the collision industry and do not understand how this happens, other than a poor part from the start. These parts should never separate. I checked for recalls and there are none on my car. But I would think there should be. I have insurance that will pay for repairs other than the ball joint. Going to have the other side replaced also. This happened at 5pm on a busy road, there was lots of traffic. I was pleased that nobody creamed me while I tried to gain control of car and man handle it off the road. I see many of the same complaints on here. This could have been a lot worse.

So far my 2008 Sebring has turned off while driving twice. I was slowing down from 30mph for a stop light and it turned off and was luckily able to utilize the brakes if not I would have rear ended the vehicle in front of me, but as for the steering, it was unresponsive. However, I turned my car back on as if nothing happen until the second time it stalled while turning into my street. Same issue occurred (no steering, but brakes were ok. )car stalls once again good thing my car turns back on immediately. Its was dangerous only for the fact that oncoming traffic would be unable to see me stalled there because road forms a hill over the canal, since soon after I went passed over the canal my street entrance is more or less 20ft from the canal, it could be a blind spot.
I was driving down the road coming to a stop light when I noticed my car had just turned off without warning. Luckily there was a turn lane and the light was red so I didn't cause any accident. After that I took my car to see why the engine light came on and the mechanic said the code stated it had to do with the oxygen sensor. I replaced the part and the car ran ok until another time I was stopped at a light and the car turned off again. I've noticed the engine light comes on and then goes off after a couple of days. I was told I probably need to replace the intake manifold gasket which I bought but haven't replaced because someone told me about the recall of other Sebrings that had the same problem. The car was running fine and the engine light had gone off and then it happened again with no warning. I looked up and saw there have been other same complaints of the engine stalling as one is driving. The code given was h07. I am disabled and cannot afford to take a risk to drive down the road and this happen again. Please let me know where I should take my car to have the defective part replaced. I am also having problems with the driver side window coming off track and going through the rubber and I am afraid the window will shatter because it won't stop going up. I greatly appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.
This was a mater of severe injury and property damage and could have been death or maiming. Travelling to a normal stop at an intersection traffic light, being the first car to the light on flat pavement, the car's front passenger side lower ball joint came out of its socket and the car skidded to a halt on the pavement riding on the undercarriage of the vehicle frame with the whole tire and brake assembly dangling by the brake line hose outside the wheel well. How could Chrysler be allowed to send a faulty life safety device such as a this critical steering, suspension ball joint that human life depends on into the public for sale? I am outraged that my wife could have been killed by Chrysler's slipshod engineering and product placement. There is no doubt in my mind that if she had been on the highway travelling at a high rate of speed I would be calling a funeral parlor today to make arrangements today for her burial. She was minutes away from travelling to a higher rate of speed when she left the shopping center. Thank god the light turned red. I hope someone at nhsta can do something about this terrible and dangerous life threatening vehicle on the roadways for the sake of Sebring occupants and other vehicle occupant's who are at risk of death if nothing is done to correct the issue or banish the vehicles altogether from roadways. Three Sebrings passed us while we waited for the tow truck and those people are at the same risk of death by driving those cars. Chrysler should be held responsible for their careless and negligent actions. And, they should recall all of these products to provide a safe alternative at no cost. I am out mental anguish and property. They know their business and they take the liability so they should be responsible. In am very happy my wife didn't get killed. I have all pictures of the accident if you need them. Thank you.
Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible. The contact stated that while turning at unknown speeds, she heard a loud noise. The contact also stated that while in reverse, the vehicle hesitated before shifting into gear. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 43,000. Mh.
There a recall on 10-13-2009 for bad ball joints. I bought the car in 12-2010 never got a recall notice on ball joints. On Nov-16-2012-we were driving with my 9 yr old and 10 year old with no warning the ball joint broke on driver side wheel . Car went out of control we almost hit two phone poles the car went into a field. The wheel is now hanging off car not driveable. Nobody was hurt it could of been worse. Will Chrysler still have honor this recall to fix my car being the recall was 3 yrs ago if I knew there was a recall I would of had this fix.

There was a recall that began on January 28, 2011 for bad ball joints. I bought the car in Dec 2010 in between recalls 2009 -2011. Never got a recall notice for this. On November 16 th 2012 my ball joint broke my car went out of control almost hit two phone poles had my family in the car. Likely we were not hurt or killed. Chrysler needs to step up and fix my car for putting bad ball joints on it . This is not the first time there was a recall on this in 2001-2009-2011 can you please help me to have Chrysler fix my car.
This is a safety issue not only for the driver of the car the others on the road with them! I was just going down the road and the horn starting going off all by itself. Finally took out the fuse. The horn just goes off randomly. It went off when hitting unlock button on remote and or just driving. Then took it to my mechanic and he said that the horn pad assembly which was a dealer only part had to be replaced some sensor or something. So right now I have just left the fuse out, because it is an expensive fix. $1000. 00. I agree with all of the other people that Chrysler should be fixing this issue. Removing the fuse has caused the air bag functions to be unknown. Removing the fuse to stop the horn also affects part of the fueling system according to the manual (same fuse). Removing the fuse has caused us not to be able to use our horn incase something ran in front of the car or to alarm others of harm. The horn is a function of safety and warning. This is standard on all cars as a precaution and warning system. This is not a part of the car that is special ordered, these come standard with all cars. So why is Chrysler not paying for this safety issue? your company has been run into the ground with recalls and safety measures not being taken seriously enough. Time to act on this situation; with over 70 complaints this must not be a whim. Sad part is this is not the only issue with this car three recalls on it and the dealer sold the car anyway without repairing recalls.
After turning around in a trailer park parking lot just started going forward when the lower ball joint separated from the lower control arm causing the left front tire to collapse from under the car and disabling the steering. If this had happened on the street at normal speeds it would probably have caused a major crash.
The horn just randomly goes off. To get it to stop I had to pull the fuse which also disconnects the air bag. After reading about the exact same problem by hundreds of Sebring owners, I feel that Chrysler should replace the horn and air bag (Chrysler mechanic told me it was all one unit and to replace it would be over $700). This is a safety issue, not only for me but for others on the road.
When turning steering-wheel to the left or right there is a knocking noise. The fix is the replacement of "gear-rack" with inner-tie-rods, and front-end realignment at a cost of $1000. 00. This seems to be a chronic problem with this series of the Chrysler Sebring. . Read more...

The horn doen't work , check engine light always on, airbags light on clock spring needs to be replace, and it seems that a lot of people are having the same problem . . . My car wont be able to pass the emission test. . . Ac compressor doesn't work.
While driving on a highway at high-speed, all the electrical instruments began flashing on/off. The airbag light began flashing and a chime could be heard. This occurs intermittently (3-5 times per year) and Chrysler cannot properly diagnose the problem. This seems to happen most frequently while driving on the interstate while raining with the windshield wipers on high. On one occasion while travelling through the mountains of western pennsylvania on the turnpike at night in the rain the entire car went dark for about 10 seconds. It appeared that the system rebooted. Original owner.
1. Sensor lights are on. 2. Seatbelts get stuck. 3. Horn doesn't work. 4. Sensor is on for the back left rear tire.

On February 14 2012 something on my left driver side wheel broke, I could no long steer and the wheel laid outward toward the ground. There is a long arm like part, that was literally hanging off the wheel. It is now unoperable. This is very dangerous and I am so glad I was only going about 30 mph due to traffic, I was able to move to the shoulder without a auto accident.

On febuary 10,2012 I just got off the express way and came to a complete stop at a traffic light when suddenly I heard a loud popping sound up front. I got out to look and found that my wheel on the passenger side was turned all the way to the right. After I had it towed to the shop the mechanic informed me that the control arm broke. I had to pay $450 to get it replaced.
The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Sebring. While driving 45 mph, the contact attempted to decelerate and applied the brakes but the vehicle did not respond. The failure caused the steering wheel to seize and the contact was unable to maneuver the vehicle, crashing into the median strip. The vehicle was destroyed and the air bags did not deploy. The contact and a passenger were injured as a result. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was contacted and the contact was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was 59,000.
Bought certified used 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible 7/11 with 18,000 miles. Fall, 2011 radio stuck on one am channel regardless of selecting am, fm, or sirius. Dealer offered to sell me new radio. After radio not used for a week, started to function okay again. July, 2012 headlight on message and alarm upon opening door, daytime, no key in ignition, no headlights on, interior dash display lights on but dim like for nighttime. 12/12 interior lights would not shutoff automatically when I exited car, switch not in on position. Ongoing: auto brightness display on radio does not work. Top down on key fob does not work. Winter, 2013 stalled twice at red lights, also had clunking noise when turning. Dealer said steering rack was worn and leaking and had to be replaced (35,000 miles) and was not under warranty. Dealer also cleaned throttle plate and fuel injectors for stalling problem. Even after this service car continued to stall, sometimes catching itself and speeding up which causes car to surge forward. As of today, 8/17/13 car has 40,050 miles on it and I wonder what's next.
I purchased my car used 3 yrs ago. I paid if off this year. The ongoing troublesome issue is that the car stalls out unexpectedly- usually during wet weather. It has happened about 5 times or so. But, it has almost happened many more times. . . The car sputters and just about stalls out. Again, all during wet weather. I contacted the dealership where I purchased car after the 1st incident. They took the car and said I needed a new battery ; that it was being drained when I had wipers, heat, radio etc all on at once and that was why it stalled. I went with it. Well, it has stalled several times since. All while driving and very scary. The power steering goes out. Another thing that may or may not be related. . . Is that the dash lights flicker on and off; also a safety issue. I will be driving and all of a sudden can't see my speedometer or anything. I think there is definitely an electrical issue. I see that there have been recalls related to the electrical system. I just don't know what to do. I think they should look into this.
My front end control arm and ball joint collapsed, causing other parts to be damaged. Ever since this has happen my Chrysler has never been the same. My insurance company did try and fix the problem, but to my dismay nothing has been corrected. I am now being told that my car the Chrysler Sebring always have major front end suspension issues. Since this is the case, I believe Chrysler should correct the problems on these makes and model. I would like to feel safe in my car, however I do not. I have been spending money frivolous to figure out the problem. I hope that Chrysler can correct this issue immediately on my car. Please help.
As I approached a stop light and had to stop, the engine stalled, and I had to restart it from the ignition. It happened on three other occasions (once in a left turn at a stop sign). The steering problem is progressively aggravating to the point of loosing power assist when I make a left turn, and occasionally a right turn, also. It started as a small inconvenience, but at this point, if I am not very careful when I make a left turn, the car would go strait instead of turning.
My 2002 convertible Chrysler Sebring limited edition left steering axle ball joint fell out of place while I was driving at about 25 mile per hour. The vehicle has mileage of 80,000. I made a complaint to Chrysler corporation after I found that there is a recall since October 2009 on the same part that failed and the same make and model. I was told by Chrysler that my VIN was not on the list of cars recalled. I have already paid for the repair and seeking reimbursement from Chrysler corporation.
On may 17,2010 while driving to college, I noticed a loud whining rough sound, and every time I hit a bump it would sound like something was loose coming from my tires. Before, I could stop to see what the problem was, my steering wheel locked and my car ran off the road when I attempted to regain control my Sebring over corrected and entered a counterclockwise spin. I crossed 5 busy lanes before striking a ditch. My car stopped opposite direction of oncoming traffic!!! July of 2013 I had my lower control arms, and ball joints replaced. And again in February 14,2014 I had to take my car to the shop again for lower ball joint disconnect and replace lower control arms. And again this year February 24, 2015 for the exact same thing; replacement of lower control arms and lower ball joint. This car is very hazard I was blessed there were no injuries in 2010 when I had my accident! every time; I drive this car I am so frantic of knowing around the time I am going to hear that sound of something rattling and sounding like loose bolts coming from the tire. My 15 year old daughter this year, made the remark;" mama I hear that rattling sound again!" please someone, somewhere; do something about the costly repairs on the Chrysler Sebring 2002 cars. The economy is not cheap to live in, especially when you are fixing the same repairs year after year on the only vehicle you have. And yes, I do have all receipts on repairs and accident report. Thank you very much for your time and consideration of helping.
Everytime I apply my brakes the front left wheel starting shaking alot.
Recall #750 front lower control arm ball joint alleged repaired 02-10-98. This is a new (10-08-09) recall. Due to my vehicle was at the dealer, it was asked if the numbers of the ball joints and control arms numbers could be checked to see if original Chrysler or aftermarket quality parts were used. Though this is a serious safety issue, loss of steering, the service advisor advised I'd need to check the original repair order (02-10-98). The original owner is deceased. So I guess I should crawl under the car and look for wherever these parts are, let alone the numbers, or pay someone else to check them, or just hope Chrysler had and used their own parts.

I have 2005 Chrysler Sebring convertible, purchased in 2006, used from a local Chrysler dealer with only 9000 miles. Today, July 16, 2009. It had a warranty of 3 years or 36000 miles. The upper ball joint is rattling around, took it to the dealer they gave me a estimate of 389. 00. This is unacceptable. The part is clearly defective. My boyfriend is a mechanic. Ball joints should go 100,000 miles before replacement. I want to file a defect complaint. Laurie treadwell.
