I purchased this vehicle used with only 17,611 miles on it in 2/01 from my niece. Since then I have had 3 flats and the tires look has though they were shredded. Not only does this cost me a fortune but it is rediculous that the tires are failing a low speeds and low mileage. The tire dealer told me that the Chrysler design is poor and dangerous. The rim is too big for the wheel well so the tire sidewall was manufactured to be too small and therefore the tire does not have enough cushion. Have had three flat tires in the last year for no reason. I don't know if there is a problem with the tire or the wheel. The last time the tire went flat and was inspected by a non goodyear dealer, I was told there was a defect in the sidewall. He said if it was a product that he carried they would have replaced the tire. The tires have a lot of tread wear left and have been rotated and balanced. Goodyear replaced the tire admitting there was a problem but still charged me $94. 00. I am very unhappy with the fact that I drive a car less than two years old, take good care of it and have these problems. I currently have another flat tire and will have it inspected later this week. Each tire that has gone flat has been on a different wheel in a different area each time. No two flats have been on the same wheel. Most of my driving is in town. I have probably put 6,000 highway miles on the car on various trips. I have never exceeded 80 mph and have not had any handling problems. (tiresize: p215/50/17)( dot number: tire size: p215/50/17 ).
