1 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2003 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 08/14/2012

After picking up vehicle from dealer and reporting "slipping" on the transmission, the dealer told me the transmission was starting to break up. A new one would cost $7,000, and a refurbished one would be $5,500, and there was a waiting list. I decided to drive it home an explore other avenues. The vehicle lasted maybe five miles and it died on the freeway. The engine light came on, the engine started smoking, and the engine just died. I lifted the hood and the engine was smoking as the transmission had broken and it had been leaking its fluid on the freeway. I called a tow truck to tow it home. An independent transmission repair shop will charge me $1,800 to rebuilt it. I have no choice.

Vehicle leaking transmission fluid, dealer stated that they tried a new gasket on transmission switch assembly. Leak persisted, dealer stated switch (or valve) was bad but there was a nationwide backorder of at least 10,000 units. I was allowed to take vehicle but made aware to check transmission fluid often. There is no TSB out on this problem even though it is a fairly common problem. Dealer will honor the warranty whent he valve comes in.

5 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 1999 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 10/01/2000

My transmision has stalled on me many times one of the times almost causing me to get into a very serious accident when turning into a busy highway. My car has been in dealership for almost one month now. I have also had problems with my brakes having the rotors cut once then replaced a second time. When I took my car in the first time for the transmission they said it only needed transmission fluid. Weeks later car stalled on me again and when we checked it, it had no transmision fluid and when I took it back to the dealership they said it had two leaks and I am still waiting for them to recieve parts to fix. I am very frustrated and stressed out due to this back and forth with them. I do not want the vehicle and am scared to drive it again.
