Driving down gravel drive at about 15mph, van stalled, esp light displayed, no power steering, no gas. Turned van off, restarted, drove fine. Win ignition module replaced in may 2016. Didn't have problems with inability to start or with van stalling until this was replaced.
Our 2009 t&c stalled in city traffic this morning without any warning when slowing down to below 20-30 mph (with the traction control light briefly illuminating after the stall). It had stalled previously 3 separate times in similar situations when either my wife or son were driving the van. Of course when the engine dies there is no power steering or power brakes which makes handling the vehicle extremely difficult. The van immediately restarts when you turn the ignition key, but the cel does not light up so there are no codes in the computer to help diagnose the problem. This is a serious problem that lots of people are having. Just read the blogs on the internet. If the van stalls while making a turn and you can't brake or steer, then it's just a matter of time before a potentially serious accident occurs. As far as I know there are no open recalls on the van (ignition recall already taken care of). The weather was nice and streets were dry.

Chrysler refuses to pay for 2009 Town & Country ignition switch repair: since the summer of 2013 the key would occasionally spring back to accessory when starting the car. In the spring of 2014 there were two occasions when the switch turned to accessory - stalling the engine - while driving. I contacted Chrysler (dianne dl965) on 7/18/14 and was told that my VIN number was not among those recalled - but if I had it repaired Chrysler would reimburse me if/when my vehicle was recalled. After receiving the recall notice and filing the requested documentation erica (from Chrysler) for some unintelligible reason could not reimbursement at this time. On 7/30/14 eric (ew 302) said that Chrysler could not pay for previous repairs until parts (detent rings?) available for the repairs. On 10/10/14 cathy (cw 775) said that I will receive a second letter when parts are available and reimbursements decisions will be decided then. Reimbursement supervisor matt said repair proceedure is unknown at present (seems unlikely to me since other years recalled long before 2009), so no reimbursemt until repair technique known.
