13 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2015

Backing out of our driveway, the engine unexpectedly shut off. Found out this is related to the r03/l25 recalls. Wife now refuses to drive the van. It was reported, but no action has been taken by Chrysler to date. It is part of the recall so we have been on the waiting list since June. Still waiting to be seen by the Chrysler dealership. I wish the town and country is part of the Chrysler buy back program. I don't want to own a vehicle from a company that doesn't respond appropriately to their recall (especially for owners who experienced the symptom of the recall). They probably rather pay the big fine to the government and resultant insurance claims. Please help!.

14 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 04/29/2015

I received l25/NHTSA 14v-373 recall last sept and have not as of today received a 2nd notice of recall. I had another episode of my car ignition going into the off position while driving. Luckily there was no accident to report. This is totally unacceptable on the part of Chrysler. Please get the replacement parts made!!! I have had a total of 3 episodes with this happening while driving. The first one was in sept 14 while driving on I-80 at 75 mph. Luckily I was able to coast to the shoulder without getting hit. The second time I lost power while driving 40 mph in city traffic a few months ago. I was able to turn a corner before getting hit by other traffic. Chrysler needs to get busy on making these replacement parts as quickly as possible. I contacted my dealership this afternoon and was told that they have not received an updated recall either.

22 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2014

While driving the ignition switch turned to accessory stopping the engine. I pulled to the side of the road, stopped and restarted. It happened again a month later on the freeway. Tried to restart engine while driving - did not restart until I moved shift lever to neeutral. On 7/8/14 I took the car to the dealer and the service representative said "I was able to get it to do it". I contacted Chrysler twice that day (dianne dl965 and another) but they refused to pay because not recalled yet! I paid $588. 89 for repair out of pocket rather than chance a failure on winding mountain roads. Two additional points: 1. For six months the key would spring back to accessory when starting. Precurser of problem. 2. They know of the problem on the 2009 t & c as reported by brent snavely in detroit free press (about 7/1/14).

23 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2014

Driving down the road the car turned off. Don't know if my knee hit the key chain to turn off the car or if the car just turned off. I was driving straight and turned the car back on and it was ok. If I would of been on a curve it might have been different. I have since then bought a quick release lock so my keys are not attached to the key for the van. Haven't had any problems as of yet. But I just bought it. Just think the design of the car could be different to have the key placement somewhere else or change how the key fits into the car to avoid this from happening.

24 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2014

Several times I have been driving and my engine stops for no reason. It has happened has I was merging onto a highway and instead of increasing my speed I was slowing down. It has happened at random times and in just normal driving situations. The most recent was driving from rhode island back to CT and 2 hours into the drive the car stopped as I was turning left at a light from one busy roadway onto another with quite a few cars surrounding me. Most of the time that this happens I have to pull over (without power steering) and put the car in park to restart the car. Each time I have been able to do so safely but it is a very serious concern and I usually have my kids in the car with me. Chrysler needs to repair this because this is obviously not the first complaint on the issue.

25 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2013

While driving on the freeway, going uphill at about 55mph, my engine suddenly began revving and the van sped up, then, I was unable to get it to accelerate. I pushed the gas pedal, but it wasn't engaging the engine. The rpm's would go up, but there was no affect on the van speed. The terrain changed, so then I began going downhill and I continued trying to get the van to accelerate to avoid being rear-ended. Finally, the engine engaged and I was able to speed up. This happened one more time during that trip. It has happened a couple of other times since then, briefly, but yesterday, it happened, and I again, was nearly rear-ended, and I had to coast into a parking lot to get out of the way of traffic. (the "check engine" light has never come on while this was happening. ) I went to a mechanic who then test-drove the van, but was "unable to duplicate the problem. " I drove the van home and the problem happened throughout my trip (speeds ranging from 30-45 mph. ) it wasn't until I finally made it home and was parking the van in front of my house that the "check engine" light finally came on. I then took the van to a local auto parts store that will run codes after the engine light comes on. It gave a code for several possible causes, which included electrical issues. Unfortunately, the guy cleared the code, and I am not able to drive the van in order to see if the engine light will come back on. (he did, however, write down what the code could be an indication of - 4 different issues to choose from. ) this is a very dangerous issue, and I have read of numerous other complaints similar to this. Please, look into this matter and do a recall of these vehicles before tragedy strikes!.

26 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

I was driving down the street and the lights started to flicker and the car went dead.

27 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

28 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2013

Since the first occurrence this has happened about 15 times. Most recently, this morning. The vehicle will randomly shut down, with no indicator lights, or a few times with the slippery road icon appearing. The vehicle totally dies, the power steering is gone, the brakes lock up, no acceleration is possible to pull off the road. I have been extremely lucky to not have had an accident as a result. This morning the mechanic brought his computer to my vehicle after shut down, as was directed, in the off chance that he might find a code. Nothing was found. The key maintained the on position. The vehicle does restart upon turning it off.

29 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2013

My wife was driving our 2009 Chrysler town and county down the road when the vans engine completely turned off as if she shut the ignition down. Thankfully my wife was able to coast into a parking area where after some time she was able to restart the van and proceed on her way. Numerous times I have tried to start the van and the engine would not turn over until the key was taken out and flipped around and then it would start. Two days ago the van would not start at all but all if the key fob functions worked and all of the electrical gauges came on. After the van was towed to the dealership I was contacted and told that a new win module and key fobs would have to be purchased costing approximately 800 dollars.

30 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2013

While driving (happens at all speeds - 35, 50, 70, etc. ), complete power to the vehicle is killed. This is very scary when it occurs. We lose power steering, brakes, and I'm assuming air bags as well. We have had several close calls with entire family in car but have been lucky to avoid crashing into other cars, cement walls, etc. This has been occurring for over a year now at random intervals. We have taken the vehicle into a licensed shop (mastertech) for inspection but they have not been successful in diagnosing. I'm fearful this is an issue similar to the gm issue that has caused several deaths. I don't want my family or myself to be the next victim. Please help!.

Car starting accelerating on its own. I wasn't able to slow down as the brakes didn't respond (they seamen stuck). This has happen at least twice in a 3 weeks period. I have to push the accelerator harder in order to somehow made the car responsive. The second time this happened, a brake signal came up, once I was able to take control of the car, I parked on side of the road, turned the car off and then turned on again and signal went off. Both times I was driving in the freeway at 65 mph trying to pass another car with my 2 kids under the age of 5!!!. Second time I almost hit the car infront of me.

35 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2011

My vehicle was issued a recall on June 16,2011 dealing with the wireless ignition; however, I did not receive a notice for this specific recall until June 2014. I immediately brought my vehicle to a Chrysler dealer. But after inspecition, they said they did not have the part needed to fix the problem. Since June 2014, I have made several phone calls only to be told that they are still waiting for the part. Since this is a safety issue, what can I do to speed up the process for rectifying my situation?.
