When I downshift from drive at any speed, it will not upshift without moving into neutral and then into drive. This move is distracting and possibly dangerous. The dealer in watsonville claims that it is not covered under the 100k warranty because it is not part of the drive train. They say that the shifter has to be replace to the tune of $600. I do not believe them due to some other reapairs that were not handled in a pleasing manner.

2010 Chrysler town and country my wife and I have been driving vehicle and multiple times over the last 6 months the vehicle stalls without warning. On one instance my wife was turning at an intersection when the car shut off unexpectedly and when this occurred the power steering stopped working and my wife nearly rolled into oncoming traffic. On another instance the vehicle stalled on me traveling down the freeway and I had to put the vehicle in neutral and start it again, when I did this it seemed like the car had to turn over for a few seconds before it would start up. We have 3 children and this is a very disturbing issue as it relates to safety. I would like to see Chryslers internal issue tracking on these items during launch of the vehicle because I have a relative a few years back who had a very similar issue with the Chrysler Jeep grand cherokee he owned. It seems to me that this is a bigger system issue with Chrysler as a whole. In addition to this safety I have multiple neusence issues with my vehicle from door locks that buzz, sliding door seals that are cut up as a result of improper installation of door, window edge seals that appear to have been too long but installed anyway and air leak sound result from poor worknmanship, rear power door that has stopped working,.

40 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2013

The car was warming up, in park, while I got my husband into the passenger side. Moments later, our dr appointment was canceled so I told my husband to turn the car engine off and give me the keys so I could get him back into the house without having to go to the driver's side. When he turned the engine off and handed me the keys, the car jumped into reverse. With the passenger door opened I tried physically to stop it. My fingers became impaled in a 4x4 post. My husband pushed the shifter straight up into park and the car stopped. I had my phone in my pocket and called a neighbor to back the car up to release my fingers. I needed 13 stitches between two fingers. I can't remember the exact date in Jan 2013 so had to fill in an incorrect day number so that the form would accept the year and month. My husband was in a wheelchair at the time and life was hard. However, I called the dealership in salisbury, MD where the car had been purchased and told them what happened. I am sure they never reported this and now that I have found this form, I decided to make an official report. I have also had numerous electrical problems with my car that the dealership could never find. They finally found a short but it was not until my car was acting crazily by the time I got it to the dealership. I don't know what failed so I put down electrical because I have had nothing but problems with the electrical system from the sliding doors found open upon my return to the windshield wipers going on and the car dashboard lighting up and slowing down--that is when the dealership finally found a short. After that, I became paranoid and the back seats wouldn't go into the stow position but it was because I had some trash that I couldn't see that obstructed the seats from going into the stow position.

44 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2010

2010 Chrysler town and country van stalls frequently causing complete loss of power, including steering. This occurs at different times, immediately upon starting vehicle, during acceleration, during turns, going straight, and also when decelerating. Basically it occurs when less expect it causing a great safety risk. Dealership says that can't fix the problem b/c they can't duplicate it. However, today it stalled on major road just as I got off interstate and I was able to coast it up right in front of their dealership. Called and asked for service manager to come out and see for himself. They insisted I must restart it and bring it into shop only to then be told they will have to get it to stall again to hook up machine (which can't leave garage) to diagnose problem. They then agreed they should have left it stalled and pushed it in. Very frustrating for a new vehicle. If they can not fix this time will pursue my rights under the lemon law. Very dangerous!.
