The vehicle cuts off during driving, have difficulty starting. Towed twice. Battery and starter changed the same result. Problem with ignition system win module. I found a recall on the module(r03/NHTSA 14v-373 ) which the dealer will not honor.
Vehicle started fine, was driven for 25 minutes. Sat for about 20 minutes then would not crank when trying to start. Everything had power, no dimming of lights when turning key in ignition. The starter simply made no sound/attempt at all. These symptoms are consistent with l25 recall in other 2010 Chrysler town and countries.
When turning the vehicle on the ignition stays in the "start" mode. Will continue to attempt to turn over with no results. After turning off and several attempts it will eventually turn over. This does not happen every time you get into the vehicle. Has been ongoing for the last month or so - most recent occurrence was 6/10/2019. Battery, alternator and starter have all checked out to be fine.
While in motion on a city street, the traction control light will come on, power steering will go out, and then the vehicle will stall. While stationary and attempting to start the vehicle, the lights will come on but the vehicle will not start. Both issues have happened multiple times over the last couple of years, happening more frequently now. The starter and wiring harness have been replaced. I will enter the most recent date of occurrence.
Will not start. Multiple problems. Recall already issued for other years/models. Need to expand recall!!! neutral safety switch or a transmission gear indicator is bad, car just clicks when key is turned. Very expensive so far to diagnose. It was not the starter. Maybe the starter for some people. A recall needs to be done to cover all the problems with the ignition switch!!!.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. When the key was inserted in the ignition switch, the contact heard an abnormal clicking noise and the vehicle failed to start. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact changed the battery and had to hit the starter with a hammer. The vehicle was towed to gwinnett Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (5054 GA-78, stone mountain, GA 30087, (404) 492-6831) on several occasions where it was diagnosed that the starter, ignition, two keys, wiring, and engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure. Vehicle started having issues in 2014. Vehicle just would not crank one morning. Got a jump start and took it to autozone and got a new battery. About 3 months later the same thing happened. Got a jump start, went to autozone and they found nothing wrong with battery, alternator or starter. Autozone gave me a new battery anyway. About 4 months later, happened again. Brought vehicle to Chrysler for win module recall fix and explained what was happening. They said handling the recall and a new battery should fix the problem. About 2 months later, had the same problem. Chrysler replace win module again and I got Chrysler to replace battery at this time as I explained that the battery was being affected due to the part that was being recalled. All was fine for about a year or so and then started happening again. Brought it back to Chrysler and they said battery had a dead cell. I explained that they had just put the battery in about a year ago and it should be under warranty. They told me, "we don't do warranty replacements on warranty replacements". So, I am just dealing with the battery right now. Most recently, about 3 months ago, dash board warning lights started all coming in at the same time. Then they would all go off and one side of the dash illumination would go out. Next start up, illumination would be fine again. This happened several times over a couple of months. Then, one day while driving, the power steering went out, the traction light came on and the vehicle shut off! was able to put vehicle in neutral and restart. This happened a few times in a month, but was always ok after one restart. Now, it keeps happening and only lasts a few minutes before needing to be restarted again. Afraid that this is going to happen while turning across oncoming traffic or in a situation where we can not pull over to safety and will get rear-ended.
The vehicle will intermittently start/not start. We have replaced the battery, and the starter. But the problem still persists. We have towed the vehicle to the dealership and they are unable to diagnose the problem. We have been stranded numerous times by our vehicle that is temperamental when it is time to start. When turning the ignition the starter clicks once and then is silent. All electrical in the car still works, but the engine never turns over. The alternator, starter, and battery have all been diagnostically checked and are in working order. We have experienced this problem for over 1 1/2 years, however it has become more frequent in recent days.
Car was parked overnight in the garage. When I came out in the morning to leave my home car would not start. I thought it was the starter and had it replaced. Starter engages but engine does not start or crank. I tried two key fobs and still nothing. Every mechanic believes there is an issue with the immobilizer but unable to check at dealer because I cannot start the car. I believe there is a malfunction in the ignition.
First problem the left sliding door stopped working which appears to be a very common problem. The other major issue which is very common with this vehicle is the van runs great until it doesn't then there seems to be no definite fix. It started a few months ago when my van wouldn't start. We have taken to multi ok e mechanics and have also had it tested with recommendations from auto stores. We have replaced three batteries, two starters, the alternator and still something is draining the battery. I can't even count the times I have been told well maybe it's this or that and we fix it only to drive it and find myself and kids stranded somewhere because it won't start again. I have a family member with the same issue and have seen many others online with the same issue spending tons of time and money into trying to solve the problem only to not be any closer than when started. I am now in the process of troubleshooting if the entertainment system is the problem and draining my battery. I charged the battery th end pulled stereo fuse my van stated charged however did hesitate to start once I had to turn key sev er al times. But battery did stay charged. I put the fuse back in and checked a little later and it quickly drained. So I may have found the issue however we have thought that many times so not holding my breath but if that is the issue that still is a huge disappointment because it controls so much both dvd players bluetooth navigation stereo cd player and some other electric features definitely not cheap to replace and having this was a main reason we purchased this vehicle for our family very disappointed that there is not a recall already and we along with others are just left out on our own -my email cblevensky@yahoo. Com or phone 7y5-506-7755also the problems take place after vehicle turned of and you go to start.
My van will sometimes not start the first time I turn the key, I may have to move the gear shift, or just turn it off and back on. It has stalled on me 4 times over the last 3 months, once going 65 mph, I suddenly lost power. I took it to our mechanic, they said the starter connections were a little corroded so they cleaned them and he changed the spark plugs. The first time I tried starting it after getting it home it wouldn't start without turning the key off and on and it stalled in my driveway. I contacted the service center again, they replaced the relay, but wasn't sure that would fix the not starting problem. It didn't fix it. I have not had it stall again, but the stalling did not re- occur as often. I feel like the stalling is a real safety issue, I have very little confidence in the safety of my vehicle.
I have 2010 town and country that has a intermittent cranking problem. I have taken it to two Chrysler dealers and they have kept it for several days and then they tell me they can't find the problem, the dealers say when they have the van hooked up to their diagnosed machine the test does not duplicate. All cranking issues are happening at home and when we are out and about, the van does shut off sometimes after cranking. We have taken van to dealer for a recall that we received pertaining to wireless ignition nod. The fix did not resolve the cranking problem. This cranking issue happens when engine is cold or hot, no lights come on instrument and no codes are stored to help find the problem. The two dealers have checked battery, starter, all grounds, fuel pump relay, fues, any thing they could think of, still no fix. This has been going for two years, please help, mr ceo of Chrysler please help your owners of your vehicles.
Van was running, starting, and driving fine. Then one day it would not start, when my husband went to leave work. He thought maybe he left the lights on in the van, and asked someone to jump his car. As soon as the cables were hooked up, it started. It ran the 20 minute drive home. He went out to start the car again that evening- and it started right up. The next morning when he went to leave for work it would not start again. The lights and radio came on. The starter clicked, but it would not turn over. It is intermittently leaving us stranded. Each time it has happened the vehicle was stationary, parked on a flat surface.
The car will not start - all electrical is operative. Battery and starter are functional. Then after multiple tries, the car will start. Also noted, with the key in the ignition and door open, no warning bell until you jiggle the plastic fob and then the door open chime comes on. There are thousands of complaints on-line of this issue and the manufacturer fanes ignorance and performs needless replacements of other parts and then charges $1,000+ for a repair that is still unproven to take care of the problem. There have been other recalls with the ignition switch/fob and are only on certain vehicles, this seems to be related but ignored.

I tried starting my 2010 town and country van after leaving the store and it would not turn over. All electrical devices were operable. I called aaa and they found nothing wrong with it. The aaa driver suggested that it may be the security system. I waited another 20 minutes and the van started right up. The same thing happened again in July of this year. I took my van to the Chrysler dealer for an oil change. I told the service department about my van not starting and asked them to change the battery in case it had a bad cell. After the oil and battery was changed I left the dealership and noticed they did not put air in the tires so I returned. The van would not start after they were done. They told me that my starter brushes were bad and that I needed an new starter. On August 25th 2010 730pm my van would not start; I tried again at 735pm and it started with no problem.
The car has stalled three times in about a year and a half, also the ignition system does not start I turn the key on and I only hear a click, some times the starter sticks until the engine runs. I had time that I am trying to start the car for several minutes. The baterry has been changed twice at the dealer they say it was damaged but they do not find the cause. I a afraid this is something seriuos.
