While driving my car it stopped all of a sudden leaving the car behind to slide out of control so not to hit me. A light came on. When I read the code it said vehicle ignition switch. This also happened a year ago only the car didn’t stop it slowed down to 5 miles an hour. I did repair it a year ago only for it to happen again. This is a very serious thing as I had my grand babies with me and the car behind me had three children.
While driving my kids to school going on a curve about 15 mph, the car shutdown and loss control of power steering and the braking. Findings upon inspection and diagnostics review, it was determined that the wireless ignition node (win) module is faulty. This component is critical to vehicle ignition and operation. The failure of the win module causes the engine to complete shut down while the vehicle was in motion on the highway. The shutdown resulted in an immediate loss of power steering and power breaking functions, leaving the driver with severely reduced control of the vehicle. Such a malfunction poses a significant safety hazard, as the driver is unable to maintain proper handling or safely maneuver the vehicle during operation. The win module has fail and must be replace immediately. Continued operation without repair could result in repeated engine shutdowns, increasing the risk of a crash or serious injury. Need replace the win module with an oem or certified equivalent part. Reprogram/ reinitialize the module as per manufacturer specifications. Test drive post-repair to ensure reliability and safety.
I have a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country (sport van) that has broken down and will not start. At first we thought it was the battery and then the starter. After replacing both parts that could cause for the van to not start. The problem still wasn't fix. We then had an car service center run a diagnostic check to pin point the issue. The diagnostic code shown number (p0513). This code described the symptoms the van is having, but not while driving. After learning about the diagnostic code we learned that there was a recall. The summary of the recall is as follow: "Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2010 Dodge journey, grand caravan, and Chrysler Town & Country vehicles manufacturer from August 3, 2009. Through June 17, 2010. Some vehicles may experience inadvertent ignition key displacement from the run to accessory position while driving causing the engine to shut off". After reading about the issues with this recall, I immediately contacted 2 separate Chrysler dealerships about the recall and the issue I am having with my 2010 Chrysler Town & Country. Both dealerships told me the same thing, that my van wasn't covered under the recall. I was confused as to why and wanted more answers. I did have the pleasure with speaking to service person by the name given "ash" at the Chrysler dealership at whitten brothers Chrysler Jeep, midlothian, va. Who then directed me to contact fca Chrysler service corporation. After contacting Chrysler corporation I had the pleasure with speaking with (mina) a customer service representative, which further explained how recalls work. After explaining what happen with my van and the symptoms with no starting and the diagnostic coding shown to why. Mina, recommended that I should contact you guy to look further into my case in hope to grant us a recall and service to our 2010 Chrysler Town & Country that is showing and giving us the same effects listed in Chrysler recall for this year, make, and model. Please consider helping.
So my vehicle, the key fob for some odd reason goes from in the run position to the off position, which caused my car to turn off while driving shuts down the entire car and with that makes it hard to stop.

The headlights went out on me. I confirmed it was not the bulbs. I confirmed it was not the switch. Highbeams work. Low beams do not. Further research indicates that this is a very very common problem with the tipms totally integrated power module. It is not just a relay or fuse. It is a very expensive part that has a long delay. . Greetings, June 30, 2023 incident of our van stalling and shutting off while driving. The traction control warning light comes on, van automatically slows down and shuts off. When this happened, unable to steer, no control of brakes or accelerator along with being dangerous. Took vehicle into midas as they are closest to my work. After testing they determined it was the win module. Since June 30th 2023 to September 10th 2023 this issue happened over a dozen times. Luckily, no one was ever directly behind us and we were able to pull over safely, shut van off, wait one minute and start up again then was fine. The issue always happened while traveling under 30 mph. I am so grateful we, nor anyone else was injured. Midas informed me back early August 2023 that there was a recall on this exact same module, but recall didn't include our van. I spoke with russ darrow Dodge and let them know about our issue and got vehicle in and win module replaced on September 12, 2023.
While driving at posted limits, the van will shut off without warning. This has happened 5 times. We have been fortunate that no cars have been following close behind, so we have been able to pull the van off the side of the road, stop and re-start the van. I have had a dealer and another mechanic look at the ignition and attempt to trouble shoot. However, nothing is ever found. This does not happen with any consistency. . . It is very random.

Electric fire drivers side rear inside, parked in driveway, hadn't been started for 24 hours, no inspection, not sure who to contact, disconnected battery and extinquised fire with water, major melting on inside and paint on outside, lucky we saw what was happening when we did close to fuel tank could have caused explosion.
My 2010 Chrysler town and country has been showing signs of an electrical issue since I purchased it. It first started with the windshield wipers and the radio coming on and off by itself. As time went on, the vehicle would lose power as I was driving. When I attempted to accelerate, the engine would rev up but the van would continue to lose speed. It continued this way for a while, until eventually it started shutting down. I have to try to get the van on the side of the road before it shuts off and restart it. Most of the time, it will restart and drive like normal. However, it wouldn't restart and had to be taken to a mechanic. At this point, the doors on the van will open and close automatically; including the tailgate. I have kids and I'm worried that the doors will open while I'm driving on the highway. Even worst, I have been in several situations where the car has stalled or shut off without the person behind me knowing I'm having an issue. This has happened in traffic within city limits, and also on the busy highway. This could have led to an accident. Again, I have children and this is very unsafe. Additionally, I've already been through one vehicular electrical fire where I could have died. This is unsafe. The issue is with the control computer (I believe it may be called the ecm); which is located somewhere above the driver's side front tire. I've spent thousands of dollars since purchasing the van in 2016 trying to figure out this issue.
Local chyrsler will not replace parts that have been recalled. I was told when to come in to have the parts replaced. They had the parts. I came in, after 3 hours they told me they had to order the parts. The next morning they emailed they had the parts. I could come in the next day at 2:00,I said ok. Then I received an email an hour later that my appointment was at 9:21 that morning,it was now about 11. I don't have a phone, and my emails were blocked when I tried to contact them. They are giving me the royal run around. Can you help me? should I just forget the whole matter? dealer is in gaylord. ; ;.
My a/c compressor unit froze up. Tearing my serpentine belt. Causing my engine to not run at all. My driver side window switch wiring melted. So now my window does not function at all. My vehicle doesn't go over 40mph and no longer shifts properly. Most of my engine wiring has melted. I have replaced the map sensor, but it says there is a problem with the circuit. Also says a problem with the barometric sensor, which I have yet to find. I had to replace the water pump. My cooling fan has totally stopped working. My key sticks in the ignition. I have replaced the battery and starter. I have also replaced the ignition coil pack, spark plugs and wires. I thought this may be the reason it was having issues starting, but it still continues. My vehicle will studder or stall out while driving. Causing it to lose power, steering. Sometimes the van just doesn't start. Or it will seem like it wants to start, but it doesn't "fire. " sounding like a starter issue, but the starter has already been replaced.
While driving, the engine will shut off resulting in a loss of power steering and brakes, amongst other systems. Very hazardous. Previous models have been recalled for this same issue and I would like to report it is still an issue in the 2010 Town & Country limited.
While driving the vehicle will die and when it does it is really hard to control. I am not sure why it shuts off but this is a real hazard.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the vehicle would fail to start, and would respond as needed after he continuously turned the ignition key inside the ignition switch. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving 77 mph, the vehicle lost electrical power inadvertently. The contact stated that he immediately shifted into neutral (n) and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle responded as needed; however, the failure recurred several times while driving the same day. The contact stated that he slightly touched the key bob and the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the wireless ignition node (win) module needed to be replaced and the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 11v139000 (electrical system). The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, who charged a repair fee for the wireless ignition node (win) module replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 179,000.
The van's ignition switch intermittently won't fully go into the off position so I can fully turn off the car and lock the doors. Sometimes the key fob pops out when I'm driving. Sometimes I am unable to remove the key from the ignition switch and unable to turn off the engine normally. Upon getting the part number off the ignition switch and searching for a replacement to purchase, I discovered other owners experienced the same problems and a recall was done. I contacted the dealer and was shock to find out my van is not being acknowledged in the recall despite my issues experienced and articles published indicating the year, make and model of my van and a recall specific to my issue. . My vehicle is stalling and dying randomly down while I am driving.
At random times, the ignition will shut down while driving, causing the power steering and power brakes to lose function. The only way to correct this is to shift gear into neutral and restart the engine. This has occurred while driving in town and on the highway without any warning or warning lights on the dashboard. This could result in a crash and harm to passengers due to not having control over steering and brakes while the vehicle is in motion. This problem has occurred multiple times in the past year or so. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who ran a diagnostic, but was unable to identify the issue and it would not replicate. I researched the vehicle symptoms, and found a recall from 2015 that related to the same issues (TSB# r03, win modual fobik replacement). All additional keys and keychain/fob were removed from the ignition key to see if this would help. Since the issue was still happening, it was then taken to a chrystler dealership, where again the diagnostics did not reveal the issue and they were unable to replicate the problem. Multiple attempts made to discuss this issue with chrystler without any assistance in finding a solution thus far. This vehicle is normally driven daily as a family car and regularly transports children. This is a huge safety concern and issue that needs to be addressed and fixed, as the vehicle is unsafe to drive at this point and the potential liability is great.
For the past several years we have tried to get power to examine the conditio. To no avail. Several times a week when we are driving the car will shut off and we lose power steering, the van turns off and we have to switch it into park to continue. Some day it happens several times. It seems like it is an occurance happening in other cars. ( see NHTSA campaign id:?14v373000. & 11v139000 ). I am worried bc it has almost led to several wrecks:. . It effects electrical. The ignition. Power steering and more. Also the air conditioner/ coolest has stopped working. We have to have tried multiple solutions with no avail… please help! and let me know if I can help with anything!.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power. During the failure the power steering and power brakes was inoperable. The vehicle was restarted and operated normally. The contact stated that after the recent failure, the vehicle failed to restart, and the vehicle was towed to the local mechanic to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 11v139000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 153,000.
Going about 30 mph with no warning, the traction control light came on it beeped and the car stalled the power steering died as did the brakes. I tried to stop the car and the abs kicked in but not fully. I was able to yank the steering wheel enough to round a corner avoid another vehicle and get to a safe place to stop. I restarted the car and it was as if nothing occurred. I believe there is a serious flaw in the computer system and an upgrade is needed!!! I used and obd ii reader and there were no codes that came up. The car only has 89,000 miles on it. This is a serious safety concern. If I had stalled on a highway on a curve, with no real way to stop it or steer it in time with out serious struggle, the outcome could have endangered not only myself and those in my car but other motorists!! looking online I’m terrified to even drive this vehicle… apparently this is happening a lot with this model. (how!!!???) someone really needs to look at this problem!.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, the vehicle inadvertently lost electrical power and stalled. The anti-traction warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact stated that he turned off and restarted the vehicle and was able to continue to drive. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.
Van will suddenly shut engine down resulting in loss of brakes, power steering and all other systems. Van must need to be restarted by turning key off and back to run position. Seems to happen at lower speeds and is an intermittent issue that can’t be duplicated on command. Is becoming more frequent. (3 times in 2 days most recently) will stall in the middle of the road and unable to safely move over. Tractions control light will turn on.
Headlight switch was turned on and headlights came on then went off. Turned light switch off and then on again and the lights came on and then went out again. This happened about dark time and I was 30 minutes from home. Cannot trust vehicle to drive at night as this has happened several times as I test the switch at home. Contacted dealership and all they could tell me is there is not a recall on this issue. No warning lamps came on. Can only drive during daytime as I cannot trust lights.

The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the headlights would randomly turn off, creating a visibility hazard for the driver. When the failure occurred, the headlights could not be reactivated. Additionally, the braking system would randomly malfunction causing an extended stopping distance. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the tipm was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. Previously while driving at various speeds the vehicle had experienced jerking and shaking. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the transmission. The failure mileage was 151,000.
When starting the ignition there were times the vehicle would not start or would suddenly stop when driving. Before purchasing this van the starter the fuel pump were replace almost three years (owner) later the starter was replaced and continued to have the same issue. Our Dodge Chrysler mechanic now say a external fuel pump relay must be place and have wiring. The risk is the safety of the driver and passengers when driving and suddenly the car stopping cause a accident and injuries. The vehicle was inspected by the Dodge and Chrysler dealership where an external fuel pump relay and new wiring to prevent this incidents from happening again. No warning messages until the symptoms of failing to turn on the vehicle or sudden stops in the road.
My wife was driving, the vehicle stalled without warning. She was approachign a stop sign intersection when this occurred. All 3 of my kids in the car. The electronic stability control lights came on, power steering and brakes were affected. Vehicle was turned off and restarted. Very dangerous. There are multiple train crossings in my area and my wife and I drive these routes frequently. This seems to be a common concern based on the complaints and needs to be resolved before someone is seriously injured or killed. I urge anyone who experiences this to report it to the NHTSA. I urge the NHTSA to open an investigation and initiate a recall on this matter which could potentially affect thousands of drivers (vehicle owners) as well as the public at large.
