Tipm is defective causing the car hard starting and stall. The fuel pump relay stays on draining the new battery . The car starts then shuts down after 2 seconds. The sliding doors open and close, horn stops, car alarm stops intermittently. I had to temporarily bypass the fuel pump relay. The cost of the tipm replacement is $1500.

Transmission was slipping- Chrysler deal inspected the car and found transmission had low oil pressure due to worn oil pump . They replaced the transmission and oil cooler assemble a recall for a transmission pump seizing causing low pressure has been issued for some Chrysler town& country 2015.

Over a year ago, we began to have a problem in which the vehicle would, on occasion, not start. The “check engine” light would come on, along with another icon that looked like a lightning bolt between two inverted parentheses. Sometimes it started up on the first try, other times it would take a few attempts, and sometimes it would not start at all. Then a new wrinkle emerged: the van conked out on us a few times while on the road -- once while merging onto a highway. We now had a serious (and potentially dangerous) problem on our hands. We had the fuel pump replaced, but the problem persisted. I took the van to our local Chrysler dealership to have them figure it out. They replaced the throttle body and cleaned the fuel injectors and fuel system. I drove the car home without incident, but the following morning, I tried to start it, and the same old situation emerged — the engine cranked but never turned over. I then had it towed back to the dealer for another round of diagnostics. I mentioned that I had seen on the internet about a possible faulty totally integrated power module (tipm), an issue in various Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/ram products. Later they called saying the battery was the problem (even though they earlier reported that the battery was okay), and had nothing to do with the tipm. For about a week, the van is started up without a hitch, but then same old hesitating-before-starting situation reared its ugly head, albeit briefly. It is only a matter of time before it stalls out again in traffic. These vehicles should be recalled and the tipm needs to be replaced.

On multiple occasions, and without warning, the car died while driving creating extremely dangerous and stressful situations. Additionally, the defective fuel pump relay caused the fuel pump to run even when the car was not running. This then caused damage to the fuel pump and required replacing both the relay and pump itself. As the fuel pump relay is a single unit soldered together, it could not be independently tested during normal checks. A recall was issues and executed for the same issue on Jeep and durango models. I also see that this was brought up previously for this t&c model but was determined not to warrant a recall. A known, dangerous, costly, and preventable issue that was corrected elsewhere but not in this model. How is that possible? I've noted approximately the first time I recall the car shutting itself off while driving (this was not the only or last time it happened - nor is it the date of service when we had to pay to have the car repaired).

Bought the car new in 2014, (it was the 6th Chrysler minivan I've owned since 1995. ) I love these minvans! this one has had an ongoing problem with cylinder #3 misfiring and causing violent shaking (as if it had a broken engine mount). The problem has always been diagnosed and eventually "fixed" by three different Chrysler service departments in nc, FL & va. (the problem occured on various trips). It was usually diagnosed as a faulty fuel injector. Most recently it was diagnosed as a spark plug failure due to a tiny crack in the insulation. They installed a new spark plug, and after leaving dealership and driving no more than 20 miles, violent shaking occured again. I immediatley returned to the dealership. This time #3 spark plug had "exploded" and caused the cylinder head to crack. All previous repairs were covered by the "lifetime" warranty purchased at the time of purchase in 2014. However this time, Chrysler insurance sent an investigator who determined that the damage was caused by the exploding spark plug and therefore denied coverage. The Chrysler service technician said the "pcm" failed, causing the spark plug failure. The insurance agent continues to deny the claim because their policy "does not cover spark plug problems" ! they now want me to pay $2500 for repairs. In all cases, the "check engine light" came on and I would return to a Chrysler dealership to have it checked. Their computer check always defined the problem as being something in cylinder #3, but inconclusive because of no obvious engine symptoms. They would reset the engine light and send me on my way until an actual problem occured, and then leave the vehicle for more detailed checking. Each time the problem occured at highway speeds and usually in heavy traffic on I-95. . . A dangerous time and place for engine problems to occur. Please note that every problem we've had with this vehicle has always been with cylinder #3 "misfiring". Is there a problem here?.

Purchased 2013 Chrysler town and country in July of 2020 and it had a clean record, was a former carmax vehicle and my independent mechanic reviewed the vehicle and deemed it a good purchase. I have since cared for the vehicle and it has run well until recently several error codes came up. P0300, p0456, p0455, p0175. I took it to my mechanic and they said this could be a vehicle manufacturer issue. The codes say something about evp leak, misfire and system running too rich. This should be investigated to ensure a recall isn't necessary. Repairs are well over $1000 and not due to any pre existing issues.

Well known issue with the Chrysler pentastar engine which results in left cylinder misfires causing dangerous stalling the vehicle stalls while in motion and while stopped. They extended the warranty on previous years but have refused to on later models. Chrysler is refusing to fix the issue or offer cost assistance.

When trying to start start button is pushed, van turns over, starts for ~2 seconds and shuts off. Takes several tries to get it to completely start and continue running. Also when turning van off. Push button, van stops running, however, it switches to accessory and takes several times pushing button to switch to off and stay there. Vehicle is on level ground and stationary parked position. This has been going on for a month off and on. Recently the last week.

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle. It would not start the contact charged the battery to full and the vehilce would not turn over and start. The contact stated this occured multiple times in the last few weeks previously. No warning light illuminated prior to failure with vehicle. The contact called naples Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram (6381 airport-pulling rd, naples, FL 34109 phone: (239) 296-2404) and notified them about the failure however the vehicle has not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacture was made aware of failure. The failure mileage was 84,000. Vw.

Brought vehicle to shop because I seen a puddle of oil under the car parked in front of my home mechanic took a look an said this is the oil filter housing stated I see this all the time with town and country, cherokee, and durango it's a cheap plastic that gets brittle in the heat and brakes.

Car stalls and shuts off, car cranks but will not start this has happened numerous times in the past 24 hours, while driving it will unexpected shut off, this is a problem related to the tipm which has been recalled in other 2011 model vehicles such as the Jeep grand cherokee and Dodge durango. I have read forums where other 2011 town and countrys also had this same issue.

The van would not crank when I got ready to leave work. I waited a bit, put my halo charger on it and it cranked. The next morning it would not crank. It would turn over but not start. We had it towed to a mechanic who kept it for 4 days and told us we needed to take it to the dealer. We were told that it was the tipm, $1600 to replace, but $400 to do a bypass.

This must be a recall concern. Chrysler really needs to step up and take care of this tipm issue. The most common problem was a defective tipm that prevented the engine from starting. This van fails while the car was being driven. Today 1-4-21, the van is again at the dealership for repairs for the same issue again and again I can't believe it. The Town & Country would be running smoothly one day and fail to start the next day. Why recall concerning them was never issued????.

We had to replace the oil filter adapter in our van because it was leaking. Our mechanic said he is fixing a lot of these in vans similar to ours. When researching online, we see that large numbers of people with 2014 Chrysler vans have the same issue. Some even reported their vehicles catching fire as a result of the issue. It cost over $600 for us to have it repaired.

The tipm is bad causing a fpr problem, causing cold starts or no start as well as stalling or a complete power drain of a brand new battery purchased 11. 22. 20 this should be a recall.

Vehicle intermittently won't start and is stalling out / dying when going down the highway.

Vehicle completely shuts off while driving at highway speed. Vehicle has turned off (lights, steering, braking, electrical) at 45mph while merging onto a highway, vehicle almost hit median before vehicle was put into neutral and restarted. Vehicle also shutoff at 65 mph while driving on highway.

Vehicle starts up and as you accelerate into an intersection the van dies. Mechanic replaced intake manifold and related sensors and check the computer but believes the problem is the wiring harness. Diagnostic was run on the computer and that is not the problem. Mechanic thought he had fixed it but 2 minutes out from the mechanics shop the vehicle died and kept dying as I pressed on the accelerator. I had to make it back to the shop going about 5 miles per hour. After a $843 repair bill the van still won't run without dying and is dangerous to drive.

Vehicle has less than 85,000 miles was working fine then few days ago would not start. The starter worked fine but would not turn over. Let it sit for half an hour and it started on first crank so I let is it run for a few minutes. Turned off and left for an hour or so tried again and had to repeat entire process. . . Vehicle was stationary because we're afraid to drive it anywhere. Original owner is in a va healthcare facility and his daughter and me (husband are handling his affairs. Because of that it is my contact info imputed.

The vehicles battery died due to a faulty tipm. After a jump start it will run but once the vehicle is off and sitting for less than an hour the vehlice will turn over, die, then will crank and not turn over for a while. This is the first time this is happening with this vehicle it has a little let than 70,000 miles.

My van needs a new tipm. This is a recall for some Chrysler vehicles under p54/NHTSA 14v-530. Why does this not include all Chrysler vehicles? the van starts intermittently. Sometimes without issue other times takes minutes and several attempts.

While driving on the freeway, the engine completely shut off. I lost power steering, power and all electrical power. I stopped then it turned on fine with no issues. Not reproduced. No prior messages or symptoms.

Wife was driving. Then engine went to full throttle, would not slow down. She rode the brakes all the way home, switched from neutral to drive, van would jump into gear when she would shift back to drive, felt like brakes were not working well enough (probably glazed). Almost wrecked, could hardly stop. Very dangerous situation.

Fuel relay on tipm is faulty resulting in not starting and stalling while driving. It is very dangerous that this problem has not been addressed by a recall.

3 times now our van will all the sudden not have any throttle then the power steering will not work. I have to stop where I am and turn off the van then turn it back on. There r no warning lights or indicators. It will just not excell and have no power stearing. All 3 times I took my foot off the gas to slow down and when I went to accelerate again it wouldn't to anything. All 3 times I was in the city. Once in sturgeon bay,WI. The others in menasha,WI. Sb,WI I was in the process of turning and couldn't turn. The other one I was approaching a stop light in a snow storm and slowing down. The 3rd time I was approaching a round about. There was about 2 mths between the sb,WI incident and the 2 in menasha.

Apparently Chrysler has a problem with their tipm from years 2011 to 2013. I just had to do a fuel relay bypass on my 2011 town and country because they did not tissue a recall for all males and models with this problem. They should not be allowed to refuse because all models most likely used the same tipm.

The gas light doesnt come on until the car is in red and almost empty. The gas light doesnt come on in advance.

My car would not start had to jump it. Thought battery, no took it to mechanic to diagnose the problem fuel tipm, relay switch. Told Chrysler did not recall my vehicle but recalled other vehicles that had the same problem and was built in the same year as mine. Vehicle was stationary the first time. Then it stalled out while I was driving. I was turning onto a city street from my residential complex.

I was driving in a residential street suddenly my vehicle made a noice when o drove. . . I drove slowly until I drove the next day, it wont at all even on drive shift.

While in motion on a freeway at freeway speeds my van just stalled. The traction control light came on first and then it just stalled. Luckily I was able to pull over safely. I called for a tow because the van would not start after that, it just kept cranking and would not turn over. The repair shop was able to start it the next day and saw a code p061c. Which means it would be 5 different problems. They are keeping it to drive it and hopefully get it to stall again. This is a major safety issue, what if my kids with with me and we crashed. How many complaints will there be before someone steps in to fix this problem. There have numerous complaints for this same issue. Hopefully something is done before someone dies.

Persistent electrical motor sound emanated from rear of car after parking and powering off (continued after removal of keys). Next day battery was dead, jump started engine with difficulty. Drove for several hours, but again would not start after it was shut off. Mechanic diagnosed faulty totally integrated power module, replaced at a cost of nearly $1,500. After replacement of tipm, new issue of airbag indicator light is on and several 12-volt power ports inside the car no longer work, both new conditions since tipm replacement.

Van has had very few problems, I have reached approximately 190000 miles and started having the stalling while driving issues that others have also reported. There are no indicators or pre warnings on dashand actually takes a few seconds to realize the car has shut off. After it happened the first time, my mechanic suggested to start with a full tune up as no codes were coming up. It has happened twice since. It is a terrifying problem, to just have car stop at random with no warning at any speed. 3 times. . . 1st in motion city street going straight, 2nd time in motion city street right after making a turn, 3rd time on highway slowing down to turn. Why is this not part of the recall r09 for durangos/grand cherokee? I can no longer trust to have my kids in this car that is designed for families. . . How do I know the replacement parts will be safe?.
